Panel 2 from Abuse of older people research symposium

  • The New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse and the Ministry of Social Development | Te Manatū Whakahiato Ora co-hosted a one-day symposium to bring together specialists, researchers and policymakers working to address the abuse of older people. The symposium featured 4 speaker panels that explored the critical gaps in our understanding of and response to abuse of older people in Aotearoa.
    Panel 2 focused on Inequities and intersectional identities and the speakers included:
    *Huhana Hickey from Pukenga Consultancy
    *Debbie Hager from VisAble
    *Hong-Jae Park from Western Sydney University
    *Sandra Dickson from Hohou te Rongo Kahukura.
    The symposium was held on 3 September 2024 at the University of Auckland | Waipapa Taumata Rau in Auckland.
