The Biggest Mistake: My Defective Blue Compass Boom Arm

I bought this boom arm to do a review on it and it ended up being defective. I even took it apart to fix it and found the internal parts were bad.

The Blue Compass boom arms are notoriously bad.
I unfortunately figured this out after buying one and it wouldn't stay still no matter what I did, so I had to return it.
Got an Elgato Wave arm instead (not the low profile one) and it just works exactly as you want it.
It even has an extra rod for added length which I found invaluable to my setup.
Never gonna switch it out unless it somehow spontaneously combusts or I accidentally break it myself.

Well, maybe that explains why it was only $48 on amazon. I have a replacement one being delivered today…
