I dig Andy's playing and tone so much and the way he humbley explains his rig.
He has really inspired me to work on tone and to listen to his guitar speak.
I could watch and listen all day.

Now that was a very special video by a very special player. He let you in and toured you through his whole system. What a wonderfully talented "good souled" guitarist. And thats why his music is so beautiful because the dude has a beautiful spirit. technically he is up there with the best and his tones are very authentic and organic. Just like a great cook he uses simple recipes with quality ingredients and just a few spices not over cooked. His touch shapes it all! Thanks for sharing Andy!

I could chill with this dude for a decade and never get tired of him explaining something then playing.

Phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe Andy Timmons. He's one in a trillion.

The transformation of Andy Timmons in the last 20 years is just incredible, and shows clearly what genius musician he is. His playing now has nothing more to do with stuff from Danger Danger. But the most amazing thing is, that for me the Guitar Solo in the song Saturday Nite (from 1989) is one of the best in History of Rock Guitar music. Stunning !!!

This huge variety of sounds makes him so unique. In my opinion there is no other player with similar capabilities in playing so many different styles. Maybe Guthrie Govan.....

I totally agree i would love to have his rig but i am happy with my Marshall for now. i think Andy is one of those guys who can fit in any song anywhere i have seen him jam with Gilbert, Howe, even Lane and he still shines through as a very unique player with a real ear for tone and a love for melody.
The thing i like most is he is so humble unlike some guys "Cough, Steve Vai"
Andy is one special player. (:

And I don't know how many thousand times I've watched this and other andy's videos on youtube. Amazing player and tone

he has been also listening to a lot of Eric Johnson same as Joe Bonamassa has been listening to EJ as well. You can hear it in both their playing. Everyone has been inspired by EJ down to the Butler Tube driver pedal and thick tone with the Beck Vibratos. To see Andy add these great new colors to his playing just brings out more of his own creativity. I met Andy once and got such a wonderful vibe from the guy. God Bless him and his wonderful contributions to todays music.

@basquiat84 He is using Rectifier Horizontal 2x12 cabinets with gold grilles, each with Vintage 30's I believe. There are 4 of them all together, 2 stacked on top of each other for each amplifier head.

I've been laughed at for describing classic Fender valve amp tones as being "kinda spongey" - VINDICATED!!
Thank you, Maestro Timmons, thank you Mesa/Boogie.

I read an interview of Andy just after he wrapped up the Sgt Pepper's record that his Mesa cabinets are stock, which are Celestion V30 types.

In my opinion. Andy's tone stands out among other virtuosos. Yet still, he doesn't have the recognition that other virtuosos had.

I honestly believe, that Satch isn't the tone king as of now, Timmons is. And i am not being biased.

preamps would be pretty different between the amps; tone differences not just due to power tubes....

Wish he’d done a run down on his guitar, compressor settings and pedal settings. That’s where the tone comes from.

I would not say that, and I am not trying to be rude at all. But Joe, is amazing at tone's and all that he play's, as Andy would tell you. Joe, and Andy have different style's, but Andy would be the first to tell you that Satch is his idol. Love both of them and I was a student of Satch's, so believe me he does know his tone's.

Andre Guitar Studio yes and from his pickups. I changed my Ibanez RG pickups to his cruiser pickups and it sounds so close! The tone is so clean but punchy, not thin as with a Strat.

Andy rules, but what does he use for a dirty rhythm channel if he was in a band situation with vocals? All his demos are for lead playing... He's FK'n nasty!

i've got such a player's crush on andy timmons. in my personal opinion he is way better than vai or satch. in the respect of phrasing and melody. just much more musical than whammy tricks and shredding. don't get me wrong i think vai and satch are phenomenal players. he's like the eric johnson without the jazz blues infusion thing.

  • @MrCamelneck

@Rocco Astoria I just listened to a video you uploaded (featuring you on guitar I assume). Talk about a terrible sound ..... I can't believe someone with your lack of skill and credentials can muster up the nerve to criticize anybody except possibly Joe Strummer and Mick Jones of The Clash!

  • @timjatomnee
    @timjatomnee 12 ปีที่แล้ว

Great guitarist! But he doesn't know much about gear...the big difference between the amps isn't really in power amp tubes...The Lonestar doesn't sound like the Stiletto when you put AL34's in it.
    Awesome tone though!
