- I got a lot of questions on my plot work videos about how I practically go about the process of plot weaving. Since I'm starting on book 3 in my Echo series, I thought I'd take you along for the ride with me as I start out working on plot from the ground up.
So sit down with me as I go from white board to cork board & sticky notes, to #Scrivener itself and take a look at how I work on plot from a practical standpoint. This is legitimately one of the most fun parts of the process for me, because it's all about letting your imagination run wild before getting into the nitty gritty of word counts and drafting.

Glad I stumbled on this video today💕 I’ve always wondered how people used Scrivener to plot. I’ve only ever stuck with my main scene cards in my manuscript for plot notes and ideas for scenes. Thank you for showing me a completely different way to organize my ideas digitally!

I've NEVER seen "7-point" together with "Cards" being "Woven"...and tracking the Manuscript to the Synopsis like that !!!

Love the way you organise your cork board and overlap the rest … sounds like a very good plan. Having trouble following the desktop version on Mac as I only have Scrivener on my ipad…no other device.

yup! finally finished last month (after a long hiatus) and i'm back at this exact stage now 😅
Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you add color to your stripes in the binder. That color coding will be extremely helpful! I use scrivener, but I did not know you could do this!
Oh def not a dumb question! Someone else showed me this, too! That is the designated color of the label I've assigned. So first you'll need to right click on the section you want to label and assign the label (they'll have an associated color). Then to get it to display, you go to the menu at the top to control the display. Click on: View --> Use Label Color In --> Binder.
And huzzah! It should should show straight away. Hope that helps!

I already wrote the 1st book, I'm currently a stand alone novel before going back to my fantasy series but I feel like I need to get all the plots points and characters arc straight for the remaining story that I intend to write, so I'm open to any method XD
As you said that it's the book 3 of your series, I'm interested to hear your thought about planning a series of books. Did you have a clear idea of your book 3 even when you started the first one ? how did you manage to deal with the surprises or the directions that you first books took that I may not have planned before hand ?

Such a good question! I knew when writing #1 that I wanted this to be a trilogy so I sort of had that in mind when weaving plot. I make sure that the general outline for my books is malleable enough to account for those surprises you talk about, but I do know the theme and where they all need to end. That way I can work with structure, but also be open to going where the story takes me, if that makes sense. I blend that plotter and pantster life.
I would really like to see you working solely on the ipad, as I do not have a computer, so the IOS version information is only relevant to me.
