There are too many people glazing her to the heavens above, and too many people are writing her off. She's fun, but she's as middle ground as it comes imo
IMO archon flow, continuity, and vitality don't provide a noticeable enough effect for me to run them. Not saying they're bad choices, I just personally don't notice their benefits in my own stress tests. I prefer running the 3 umbrals, and pumping my range to 250%, as she's got decent enough HP and armor values to health tank (which is enhanced by her Omamori charms and Mecha Pulse). A lot of the negativivty around her seems to come from people expecting her to be some reliable AoE nuke, but that just isn't what she's meant to be.
I pretty much always prefer blind rage to the umbrals since basically every frame has a survival move now and shield gating is stronger than ever. Might use umbral intensify to really crank up the strength but the other two I just think there are better things you could do with those slots.
@@arcadeinvader8086 oh, I know umbrals aren't the best option on Koumei, I just have a personal dedication to forcing those mods onto any frame that I like. There are definitely better options of you're trying to push lvlcap, but for my purposes (1hr SP Conjunction Survival), it's enough.
@@ArnSolma Yeah, the archon mods aren't needed, but I do like the added little bonuses they give. I'm going to use Stretch, Continuity, and Flow anyways, so I might as well have the archon versions. Archon vitality could be replaced, but the extra heat proc makes killing stuff with her 4 a bit easier.
I like the idea of a frame being able to earn decrees in normal missions but that's about all I like about her. I'm just not a fan of randomness mechanics as a part of the core gameplay and she is exactly that.

The problem I have with her passive is that when it rotates from one weapon to another, the notification is way too subtle. There might be a small sound effect but with all her other abilities making all kinds of instrumental sounds, it's hardly noticeable. There needs to be a weapon icon briefly showing up everytime the passive rotates because I don't want to check bottom right of the screen constantly.
the chance of her 3rd ability to block damage should be scaling with strength imo, up to 90%, currently it is just so insanely bad, especially since it does absolutely nothing once you get to very high level content.
A fix for her first ability would be to allow True damage plus a bonus random status. If she gets three sixes, you will have the True Damage and all eight elemental statuses on the silver strands. It would make the ability worth using. Her two should offer three decrees if you roll four or more sixes. Her 4 could double to triple it's damage based on the number of sixes you roll with her one out to create some synergy for her kit.
@Einzweig they actually serve different purpose, they are more tailored to work with her 2 than anything else. Also they are pretty good together, cast 4 follow by 1,1,1,1,1,1 and the room has aids.
For her 1 it would be better if her ult slowly puppeted thr Enmies toward you and if you held made them walk away and the speed scaled with trength rathee than hold them together. This would make her one significant better ontop of if they made her 1 be able to be cast more than once or at least fix the wack height problem. Her 2 definitely needs more fun decrees and the ability choose more with strength. I also think the 150 second cool down is genuinely stupid. It reallt feels like DE was fun nerfing and it also makes me wish the challenges were also crazier or wackier cuz just adding more kills doesnt feel fun. I think her 3 is fine just wish i could refresh it more or if their wasnt the 3 second cool down. I kinda wish we got to see the dice roll every time she got hit to see the 50% chance go off it would make it more fun. I like the idea of koumei but in practice they shouldve just made the 1 and 2 shine a bit more since the 4 and 3 are basically fine.
i feel like her first ability is being slept on... and not utilized correctly something i noticed... when you throw it out it can follow the ground HARD gliding over certain objects BUT when it encounters a wall not sure what angle is needed... it bounces :) in corridors you instead of throwing it straight throw it at an angle to cover more ground :D essentially turning that one entry way into a literal spider web death trap :3 BONUS i don't think you need to build strength for it either :b plus by doing this more enemies will be hit/walk into the ropes which seem to do a decent amount of damage :y since its all status and not just straight damage/crit so potential to just do more damage because its their weakness :3 plus if you get decrees that boost damage with status infliction... :) jus saaaying decrees could probably be tuned a little bit more omamori seems ...consistent good even if the role is bad. great cc/damage ability in a nice cone of where you are facing :) (line of sight not needed... but who knows how long that will last :b) adjust audio mixing your quiet and unable to hear the music box sound when you said to listen :)

I really just wish it had a longer duration, slightly tighter spread of threads, and you could have more than one cast out at a time. I'm hoping it gets buffed soon, since they usually tune new frames within the first week or two of their release. The music box sound was able to be heard initially, but I messed it up by adding the music in the background and forgetting to tune it down for that section.
The only decrees I have a real problem with are the finisher ones. Because there's zero way to get any consistently. I don't mind decrees being less useful. I just don't like for an ability to do nothing. And it's fine for a decree to do nothing if you are doing something very specific. But even on an all-rounder build, how many finishers do you get a mission with Koumei?

I don't think they wanted to have us mucking with the decree menu in the pacing of a normal mission, and I get that. I think they should add an element of pseudo-choice to the decrees by letting you reject a decree while they're on cooldown to reset the omikuji cooldown. Closer to current design with less of the feels-bad of getting a decree that's useless in your current load out like duelist's outburst in a setup with incarnon weapons. Also, I think the way sickening pulse works with like heat procs for example is it adds only one heat proc but that heat proc is equal to the sum of all current heat procs on the target. Like, if you spam sickening pulse on a target with heat procs, the proc dot doubles each time you cast despite "only" going up by one stack.

Koumeis skill 2 augment = choose 1/3 degrees like in duvuriri. That would be beautiful. Lack of synergy between her skill 1 and 4 urks me. 1 requires them moving between threads and skill 4 is like na fam no movement. If they somehow rebalance the synergy then the part that doesn't make sense in her kit suddenly disappears. The RNG aspect on skill 3 I dislike but honestly it's fineeeee to have a skill that you want to helmith off. Pickup a better reliable helmith or pickup roar so her status can double hip. Well 6/13 of her skill 4 actually deal dot damage.
She seems fine. As brozime showed (despite his lacking take), she can clear some of the hardest content in the game just fine. Literally 0 risk high difficulty Steel Path. That alone is proof of how strong she is. Is she top 10? No. But as you said, not every frame needs to be #1. She can safely clear the content with 0 issues, and has a unique playstyle (even if theres a few minor changes id like to see).
Warframe players when the random frame is rng based: Fr tho, she's an easy fix. Just make her 1s strings hitbox more forgiving and up the damage a bit. If im being nitpicky I'd say maybe her 3 could need tweaking, if revenant can have mesmer skin, I dont see why she can't have her 3 just have a cooldown of 2.5 or maybe even as low as 2 seconds, it'd just make it feel a bit more consistent. And the cooldown on her 4 should be removed, straight up. The casting animation is already a long enough delay imo, but i think DE would probably be hesitant to do it because "balance" (like we don't already have immortal frames, infinitely scaling damage abilities etc). I think her decree pool should maybe be looked at, possibly change some of the challenges to get them to be less annoying, even if its just, as you said, the wall latch one, is just a pain in the ass.

The cooldown on her 4, cooldown on her 3, and not putting the really insane decrees in her decree pool are all attempts at balancing her, but like you said, we already have immortal frames and frames with damage that scales so high it hits the damage cap.
The behavior you're seeing for sickening pulse is the intended behavior. It duplicates one stack of the direct damage DoTs and resets their timer, it doesn't double them. Also Koumei is pog and Brozime is cringe
personal opinion,koumie is the most BS designed character not just because of all the cool downs but also her dice if you get a high roll but no sixes it doesn’t count you need your dice to be triple six or it doesn’t count towards its largest potential
The issue i have with every video people are making is that she's able to be painted in a positive or negative light based on which thing you choose to overexaggerate. Brozimes was overly negative and didn't explore deep enough, but ive had people tell me she's better than revenant because you can jump in a hole and recast her 3 until you roll triple 6's.... Priming isn't that useful in 90% of gameplay and that includes SP so if i was to describe the whole warframe in a single word it would be "unnecessary". I'd be less upset about the frame if that 3 actually worked well enough to protect new players but you hella overstated how overall survivable she is.
@@hothstorm Her 3rd isn't good alone for survivability, it shines when paired with other things like aegis and low shields gating. I would still like maybe a little more from it, like perhaps no cooldown on the omamori, but we'll have to wait and see what DE does.
@@Einzweig I landed on the 1200 shields idea seperately and invested the shards and its just not satisfying sadly. it feels like something is wrong with activation at 0 shields. Tried it on hildryn and I saw that it actually freezes the cooldown timer when invuln so idk if that carries over.
I just think the overall design of the frame is bad. She's supposed to be a shrine-maiden, right? ok, what does that have to do with statuses? i thought inflicting statuses was the alchemist frames thing? you know, the frame that already exists, Lavos? The decree thing sounds good at first....until you join a squad. Good luck completing a SINGLE challenge when a Saryn shoots down the hallway and clears the entire map with a single shot.
I think the whole shrine maiden aesthetic is meant to be secondary to the whole luck/fate theme she has going on. Although I could see the dissonance there. If I were doing a full shrine maiden frame I’d make her a full utility/support caster. Just to emphasise the whole protective and sealing magic thing. But I don’t work for DE so, eh. As for the decrees, honestly I think it would be much better if she could pull any decree. Instead of the curated list of kind of meh ones she has available. Seeing how much trouble it can be to beat the challenges. I don’t think it would be that much of a problem. Because last time I checked there are a LOT of decrees.
@@CookeiCutter As one of the replies to this says, the shrine maiden astchetic is secondary to the fate and luck themes as well as the puppet theme. Lavos is more focused on large amounts of specific status effects, whereas Koumei is more about applying small amounts of multiple/all status effects. The problem with teammates screwing you over from getting decrees is also something that another reply explains well, it is more an issue of the game's current state than that of the frame herself.
Lavos isn't even close to the only one who specifically has tools to spread multiple status types. Voruna? Chroma? Grendel? Saryn? Citrine? Wisp? Vauban? Gauss? Protea? If you include augments it's probably, like, half of them. Status effects are a core feature of the entire game not a one-time gimmick for a single frame.
Her subsume is pretty nice on Titania so I can be lazy I also think Runninf the Gotva Prime makes her more fun cuz it's more rng. I'm tired of the "run the weapon I like to solve the problems" I want more problems while in steel path so I need more rng weapons. I also think the issues people are having is so much based on likes and dislikes rather than just core issues of the warframe. Which kinda makes your argument and brownies kinda null. It's more like you like the idea of koumei and he doesn't like the inherent clunkiness and what if of koumei. Plus not taking the warframe in a mission is gonna rub alot of people the wrong way completely regar whether your right or wrong. I personally think she doesn't have enough rng and enough rewarding rng...
Although her kit is super fun I just can't get behind her 2nd. Way too unreliable and some of the challenges just become frustrating for me, specially the 20m kills with my torid. Guess it just won't be for me
@@genarovazquez918 While it is counter intuitive to her playstyle, you can subsume an ability over her 2. For a while I was using sickening pulse over her 2 instead of her 1, and it works quite well. It will work even better if they buff her 1.
This frame is out for a week and people already write posts how to "fix" Koumei. She is a very good frame, but has to be built different then normal. 3 Ability strength Archon shards? lol, no. Get some bile ready to remove those, you are wasting shards.
@@Sypaka I put the shards there because I like the extra strength for her 4, and it also helps if I use a helminth ability that needs strength. I'm not saying it's optimal, but it's how I want to build her.
@@Einzweig There are actually a couple Helminth abilities which go well with Koumei. Technically, you can use one or two of those to nuke, but you are still reliant on the Yahtzee throws.
I really dont like the decree mechanic and personally i would have two ideas as to how to rework it: 1. have it immidatly give you the decree with a duration - rather then infinite with a challenge (could be an augment too perhaps) 2. have it instead be reworked to a survivability ability - you roll the dice/ fate - and enemies in a small cone get one of 3 debuffs heck have it be a straight up ghost dice she throws and stuff that gets hit by it is affected the first: kill me and i drop a health orb - the second: kill me and i give you bonus armor (duration based) - the third: Kill me and i drop an energy orb (that would fix her for me - it would synergize with her charms only healing with chance and it would give her energy regen so she can spam her 1 and 4 more often for dps)
Koumeis passive is so strong proceeds to try out multiple weapons which none of them benefit from the passive 😂 okay ill wait till it works ..... sums up koumei
@@Spambot27374 I was explaining what the passive did, not showing the best weapons to make use of it. I also said that it was bugged in the simulacrum and would incorrectly show a different weapon than what the buff was actually applying to.

Big waste putting on the umbrals. I've never even come close to needing the survivability, nor the petty strength that comes with wasting 3 slots.

@@CookeiCutter As one of the replies to this says, the shrine maiden astchetic is secondary to the fate and luck themes as well as the puppet theme. Lavos is more focused on large amounts of specific status effects, whereas Koumei is more about applying small amounts of multiple/all status effects.
The problem with teammates screwing you over from getting decrees is also something that another reply explains well, it is more an issue of the game's current state than that of the frame herself.

Lavos isn't even close to the only one who specifically has tools to spread multiple status types. Voruna? Chroma? Grendel? Saryn? Citrine? Wisp? Vauban? Gauss? Protea? If you include augments it's probably, like, half of them. Status effects are a core feature of the entire game not a one-time gimmick for a single frame.
I think ppl are overglazing her abilities and compensating as well as dogging on her at this point. Shee needs buffs over all, i want more rng

Her subsume is pretty nice on Titania so I can be lazy
I also think Runninf the Gotva Prime makes her more fun cuz it's more rng. I'm tired of the "run the weapon I like to solve the problems"
I want more problems while in steel path so I need more rng weapons.
I also think the issues people are having is so much based on likes and dislikes rather than just core issues of the warframe. Which kinda makes your argument and brownies kinda null. It's more like you like the idea of koumei and he doesn't like the inherent clunkiness and what if of koumei.
Plus not taking the warframe in a mission is gonna rub alot of people the wrong way completely regar whether your right or wrong.

She's just very mediocre and good chunk of people will go back to playing other frames when the release hype dies down
Although her kit is super fun I just can't get behind her 2nd. Way too unreliable and some of the challenges just become frustrating for me, specially the 20m kills with my torid. Guess it just won't be for me
@@genarovazquez918 While it is counter intuitive to her playstyle, you can subsume an ability over her 2. For a while I was using sickening pulse over her 2 instead of her 1, and it works quite well. It will work even better if they buff her 1.

This frame is out for a week and people already write posts how to "fix" Koumei.
She is a very good frame, but has to be built different then normal.
3 Ability strength Archon shards? lol, no. Get some bile ready to remove those, you are wasting shards.
@@Sypaka I put the shards there because I like the extra strength for her 4, and it also helps if I use a helminth ability that needs strength. I'm not saying it's optimal, but it's how I want to build her.
@@Einzweig There are actually a couple Helminth abilities which go well with Koumei. Technically, you can use one or two of those to nuke, but you are still reliant on the Yahtzee throws.
I wouldn't say she's bad, just annoying too use.

I really dont like the decree mechanic
and personally i would have two ideas as to how to rework it:
1. have it immidatly give you the decree with a duration - rather then infinite with a challenge (could be an augment too perhaps)
2. have it instead be reworked to a survivability ability - you roll the dice/ fate - and enemies in a small cone get one of 3 debuffs
heck have it be a straight up ghost dice she throws and stuff that gets hit by it is affected
the first: kill me and i drop a health orb - the second: kill me and i give you bonus armor (duration based) - the third: Kill me and i drop an energy orb
(that would fix her for me - it would synergize with her charms only healing with chance and it would give her energy regen so she can spam her 1 and 4 more often for dps)
Koumeis passive is so strong proceeds to try out multiple weapons which none of them benefit from the passive 😂 okay ill wait till it works ..... sums up koumei
@@Spambot27374 I was explaining what the passive did, not showing the best weapons to make use of it. I also said that it was bugged in the simulacrum and would incorrectly show a different weapon than what the buff was actually applying to.
