      Thanks so much man!! Im forever tweaking my tones but this one was actually pretty stripped back which is cool!! These riffs were definitely a little forced but I’m trying to stick to uploading regularly haha so anything is better than nothing, right? 😂 😎

    Hey man ! Sick playing, that end riff...oh aye.
    What profiles you using here ?

    • @jackharrisguitar
      @jackharrisguitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha oh man thank you!! That end riff is the only part I was happy with so that’s cool to hear you dig it 😎!! Surprisingly, the tone is actually a standard Tonecrate 5150 profile - no EQ’s or anything special! Normally I use Josh’s tones but though I’d try recording with some others! 😊

    Awesome Jack!!!
    I just came across your page, via that shredder jam from today, with you all and MAB. I need to go finish that, but wanted to check out your page.
    You mentioned you were using a 5150 set-up. Do you mean like a 5150 pedal, or do you happen to have a 5150 III?
    I’ve been playing forever, but kind of doing a deep dive into upgrading my tone. I’m still just stuck in the 80s, going through an old Peavey combo 50-watt, with my BOSS DS-1. It’s always worked well with me, and fits my style. But as I am starting to play again more lately, I really want a little tighter crunch and sustain.
    What are you using for distortion? And other effects? I’m hoping to just maybe get a few pedals, for the time being. And maybe an attenuator, so I can get a better sound, at a lower volume.
    So any recommendations you have, I really appreciate it.
    Thanks for your time man!!! 🎸👍🏻
    Looking forward to checking out more of your work. 😎
    Thanks man! I’ll check out more of your stuff. Sounds great. 👍🏻🎸

      Thanks for checking out my channel man! So in my videos the amp I use is actually the Kemper profiler - which enables me to basically use any amp tone I want - so the profile I used here was a 5150 :) Technology has come a long way now in regards to amp modellers! What style of music are playing right now? The Horizon Devices products are great for metal playing and I’m sure can transfer to other styles well! If you wanted a cheaper option to unlock heaps of more tones - a lot of plug-ins such as the Neural DSP or the STL Tones stuff offer a wide range of different tones to get you inspired!
      Hope that helps! 😊

      @@jackharrisguitar Thanks! Great stuff. I will look into all that you listed.
      I think I recently watched a video on the horizon and boss multi effects pedal. They may be part of what you listed here. I will check.
      I mostly play heavy metal. I guess younger people now call the late 80s metal that I mostly play, as classic metal? So I like that crunch, and that’s what I mostly use.
      But I’ve always really liked heavier sounds also, like Pantera, even some of these hard-core metal bands.
      Basically, my 50 Watt combo is so loud, not great for all the practicing I’ve been doing again lately in my apartment. I have to keep it turned down so low, it’s not getting pushed very hard, so really lacking in sustain and other dynamics. I wish I just had a little spider 10 Watt, or something. Which I might just get. Money is kind of an issue at the moment. I know those spiders only cost around 120. Or I might just get a stomp box to give me more crunch and sustain. I even like some of that crazy hard-core metal down. But not when it’s too jumbled up, or on the treble side. I like your sound, gnarly crunch, warm, and still a lot of bite to the higher strings while soloing.
      Right now my sound is heavy through the tube amp and my boss, but soloing doesn’t give me much forgiveness, it’s almost to clean . Especially while trying to get more of that cool shredder sound, ha ha.
      OK, thanks for all your advice, and if you have time, or any other suggestions, let me know.
      Thanks again! Keep rockin’!!! 🇺🇸🎸👍🏻

    Nice sound, and when I look at Your Kemper, there is nothing before preamp section. These EMG's must be pretty hot, eh?

    • @jackharrisguitar
      @jackharrisguitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! Yeah I changed from joshs tones to something without any EQ’s - it’s just a standard 5150 profile 😂- then I just ran a typical high\low pass in the DAW!! Double tracked which makes it sound bigger too 🔥this riff challenge was a little forced but I guess something is better than nothing haha 😎

      @@jackharrisguitar yes, do not worry, what matters is that you actually did something :)
      Interesting tone, You should check Omega Amplifiers demo Kemper profiles, they are interesting, 2 are for free download and they are pretty TOIGHT!
      Cheers!
      P.S. You can also use global EQ in Kemper for low/high pass.
