Hope you read this in time! I wouldn't put dart traps pointing down over the fighting position. You will damage the blocks under them unless they are bars. You will also trigger demos!!! I always put a blade trap sideways over my fighting position. It does head shots, doesn't trigger demos, You can repair it easily from inside, also prevents the zombies from piling up. You also don't waste a bunch of iron and forge time on dart ammo.
Coil weapons dont do that, I dont think. They just do a lot more direct damage to help take them down faster than they can heal(except for the empowered demonic ones which heal faster than you can damage them with just about anything). Only legendary or laser weapons, or weapons with the laser mod stop the regeneration itself.
Idk if anyone has commented this yet but if I remember correctly the Science Crafting perk also increases crafting speed as well as the perk for crafting speed and the first 2 levels in the first perk for laborer, Btw loving the series so far and I think your doing a great job, keep it up
YOU GLORIOUS BAFOON!! Get a forge going for ammo(brass/lead) one for cement alone and also one for Iron/Steel. keep them always running when you get back to base. you need to get ahead of crafting instead of trying to craft as you go.
The crafting time bonuses are a little wonky. They are, if i understand correctly, additive, which means they stack between the different sources of reduced craft time. You can get it down to the point that things like steel bars, concrete, etc are crafting more than 1 a second. It ramps up to ludicrous crafting speeds for materials, with the bulk of time taken just being the end products like tools, ammunition, etc eventually. Edit: also, the Mechanic class is extremely overpowered. The robotic turrets you can have 3 out at a time eventually, and use steel darts(like from the dart trap) and eventually titanium darts and they have crazy active range. They also hold a ton of mods and can easily take out an entire horde on their own if properly kitted out and strategically placed. I sometimes use the sledge turret for horde night, but at mid to end game, i go nowhere without 3 of the robotic turrets on my tool bar. Great way to take out a poi or wandering horde to save ammo as the darts they use are very cheap. The salvage bonuses for the mechanic class are also very nice for getting materials to make coil ammo and other end game stuff.
Okay thank you for the tips! There's so much to this game and mod it's just going to take time with me catching on to everything. I appreciate all the help though!
@@isyzen The hardest part of Darkness Falls to me is staying away from Survivalist class in the beginning. It just makes everything so much easier because of the early bonuses it gives that makes going into other classes later on so much easier. Going into Scientist class first is adding another level of difficulty to yourself, so dont feel bad about the troubles youve had. You just are doing an incredibly difficult playthrough with a difficult early class and doing great comparatively. Farming was a great choice to go into though, tons of great food bonuses. You want to get a farm with lots of blueberries, corn, and tomatoes/coffee/carrots as soon as possible since that covers your ink needs as well as crafting polymers from the corn which you need a lot of for late game crafting. Once you get mastery in it, you unlock the special foods that are the equivalent of the candies from the base game, though they arent clear which is which and have to experiment a bit or just be told which ones give you the specific bonuses. They also have huge wellness bonuses that will ramp up your health/stamina very quickly as well, so the deaths arent as big a setback then. I think a couple of them give 5 wellness each(coffee cake may be unlocked earlier, and gives 5 wellness).
I think I remember Syzen saying that he would eventually combine his working base with his horde base? Idk.. it’s entirely up to you Mr. Syzen, but I wouldn’t use upgrading materials on your workstation base that you can be using on your horde base. You already have so much space that you can move most of the workstations and craft new storage boxes. I’m loving the series btw!
just to let you know, you can shape the blocks as ladders and upgrade them much better than using the ladders by crafting because to upgrade those, you need forge iron. to upgrage the shaped ones, you just use the normal upgrades like cobble, concrete, steel, and so on. just never craft ladders, just shape the blocks INTO ladders instead. much cheaper and better. (I'm talking about building blocks by the way.)
use 1 forge for iron-steel 1 or more for cement 1 for ammo and let them run 24/7 if possible i have always 4 running ( make sure you are not there then for screamers )remember those dart-traps will damage the blocks under it . you can use trigger plate or a switch for them i just put it all on switches . and get those perks in so you can craft faster . love it all , hope you don't die in the next horde night . the coil weapons stop those zombie's from healing . if you need levels you can try to make a screamer farm base , i advice you not to make it in your actual base or horde base . i don't now if in df it is possible to keep it up for a long time whit all those extra hard zombies in it . love to see it all .
Next roaming horde lead the last few to the base and try it out... Especially that punching torrent, to see if they get anywhere near that pit. Also keep topping up the forges so they are constantly making the cement, Good luck
Hey Syzen! Just a friendly tip😅 you can track recipes, and the ingredients will be in the top right of your hud. Hope that helps! I was just like you forgetting all my ingredients. You can do it with all craftables.
i would use a slimmer block for the walk way to the base so the zombies fall on their own accord when the bunch up or get knocked down. Something like the pillars or poles
A quick reference for "What Foods are Good" is to look at the recipes that the Farmer Class perks unlock. The more points into the Perk to unlock it the better the Food (specifically the Wellness and regeneration buffs it provides).
You can buy crafting perks from the Scout. The lvl of the perks you can buy depends on the quest tier you've completed for her. Also if you don't have enough dukes to buy a perk it's not gonna show in the menu (honestly that's rather annoying) tier one perks start at 3k dukes.
Hey have a quick thought for the hoard base since you have so much space to work with why don't you make like a second stopgap so like the first line of defense fails you can fall back to a different position. So you wouldn't immediately be overrun you'd have a different position to fight from
@isyzen well it came to me because I've been binging all of your 7 days to die content the past couple days. That you have like one line of defense and then if that fails you bail so if you with the space you have in the second line of possible defense it could be all you need to like actually succeed in the horror night. Glad you like the idea it just kind of happened. Anyways love the series man absolutely love it
The place you show with jumping at the start of work on the base. If they break through the bars which are only cobblestone. You won't survive the night. Make them all concrete on that side before horde night. Or you will learn that even though they can only take out 2 blocks to get to you. They will see the other route as easier.
Do you have the glasses to make crafting quicker? I think it’s the nerdy glasses? That on top of all the crafting decreasing perks you’ll be making cement and other things super quick. But dude awesome job so far!
Lol i was g3tting antsy tonight tryna sell work n the last place i went it got bad i left n was like i bet isyzen already frickin uploaded todsys episode! 😅😂😂
Are those bars or scaffolding ladders? I heard that bars are no good and scaffolding is the way to go for spit and throwing grenades. Im noob so i havent tried anything yet. But love watching your content to learn!
Mended sprained or broken limbs don't worsen in DF. Guess Khaine called bullshit on that. So if you've fixed your legs you can sprint all you want. And if you've fixed your arm then power attack away.
Man this episode is been very grindy i hope that your horde base actually work instead putting cubes in the ceiling of the walkway why not just fill it with dart traps in the ceiling that way it actually be deadly

Apart from just the grenade hatch i mean, i got faith youll make it thru this horde just with what ya got now just didnt know if ya had plans down the rd

My horde base isn't on the ground.. I have 2 separate bases. One main base and the horde base is 13 blocks off of the ground. There's only one way for zombies to get to me and it's straight up the stairs and down the hall way. I made it to where the only path they can take is to my shooting hole in the front
Ps bro i wernt freekin over it man i got an xbox all iv played is vanilla 7dtd just didnt know what ur plans were n didnt wana see um sneak round what ya had goin on lol
It's about the gameplay lol. Some of my favorite games are ugly to look at but are doing way more than triple a titles with good graphics. I'd rather performance and gameplay over pretty any day

Finally the advanced heating element is crazy good with forges or the working oven.
i have faith on your base bro
When you upgrade to concrete you get a lot of levels so use multipliers to get even more
You could always put double doors over the turret pod
Moving sideway's make's you faster i believe : )

You know darkness falls is updated🤩😂
And harder now XD.

Would they not just path differently to breaking the fences and jumping over rather than the front door?
Doing math by comparing movie time.... that's a new one.

exactly how did it take this long? you have had a salvaging tool since like day 5
Day 1 of asking Syzen to plant his tree saplings
You have to dubbel your workstations
Should have led the hoard to test the base
I'll do testing don't worry.
533 minutes is about 9 hours
