  • Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has faced significant criticism following his decision to remove himself from a game due to fatigue. During a 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans, Richardson exited the field after a taxing play, citing tiredness as the reason. This action has led to widespread scrutiny from fans, analysts, and former players. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel remarked that Richardson "lost the respect of every football player and every quarterback and every offensive lineman to have ever played the game."

You just can’t say things like that at all. Any time anyone says that it is arrogant and it’s stupid. It literally will follow you for the rest of your career.
There is no proper time to say that your profession is easy. I know lots of guys are arrogant these days and don’t think about it But being humble (truly humble not this new age BS where you say I’m humble and I’m the greatest of all time) can really lessen the impact when things go wrong.
That’s just a lesson for humanity.
Being arrogant is never a good look. You may be soooo great that it doesn’t hurt you but it’s never going to help you.

Oline may not be running as much as Arich but what they have to do on a constant basis in the trenches is far more tiring/exhausting than what Arich does. You're also blatantly ignoring how often guards/centers will pull for a RB on plays. Also considering the fact that linemen weigh waaaaay more than QBs do, there really is no comparison.

And everytime I was over at their house - for lunch homie was always pounding pb&js like it was his job. And that shit actually worked… guy gained 40-60 pounds that summer.

Flacco gives you guys the best chance to win right now and maybe sneak into a wildcard spot, but at 40 years old, it’s like putting a bandaid on an amputated limb. Maybe Richardson gets another chance next season, but that comment he made about being tired is the kind of thing that can haunt a player for the rest of their career. It’s ok to be tired but you just can’t come out and say something like that in the NFL.

The biggest red flag of this situation isn’t even the tapping out. It’s the openly saying that afterwards. If you didn’t know the firestorm saying that would start then how the fk you supposed to go out there and analyze complex defenses and make the right throws. Ant needs to go to a QB camp and refine all of his fundamentals. QB play in the NFL is 80% mental and a strong arm doesn’t even enter into the equation if you are throwing to the wrong read or just guessing.

I was big on AR coming into this season but 100% agree with Cam. Lots to adjust on his habits during the game that won't happen without mentoring or just a lot more reps needed for him to get polished technically and have proper capacity to QB for a team through a whole NFL season the way he plays. Sadly I'm not sure if Flacco is the one to mentor him on his style of play, but can definitely help him with his passing reads and understanding game situations. I think what's happening now with Justin Fields in Pittsburgh would be an ideal situation for AR. Get him out of Indy and have him play behind a more established pass/run QB like Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, or Jalen Hurts. Sad thing is, his stock and Indy's draft situation is not nearly as favorable as it was for Chicago to make that move and still end up with Caleb Williams... Definitely not a fair situation lol.

Josh Allen came in as a raw prospect, yet he was never benched or sat out games due to "tiredness"-he kept playing through his early struggles. On top of that, Allen developed despite having far less talent around him than most young quarterbacks, which makes his growth all the more impressive. It’s rare for a player to follow that kind of path, so comparing this prospect to Allen isn’t realistic; a trajectory like Trey Lance’s seems more likely.

Anthony Richardson was a disaster waiting to happen. Scouts fell for his impressive measurables and athleticism, but they overlooked the glaring issues: he struggled to process defenses, made terrible decisions, and had awful accuracy-all evident during his time at Florida. The only reason he looked even slightly good at times was due to his overwhelming physical advantages over lesser competition. With major mechanical problems and questionable judgment, he looks more like a gym warrior than a legitimate quarterback. At this point, he might have been better off considering a position switch because there's no doubt someone with his athleticism could be useful on an NFL roster somewhere. It’s clear he’s a bust, and in hindsight, he should have been a fifth or sixth-round pick, not anywhere near the first.
