Fixing things is usually easy when you know what you're doing. I'm sure this quick lesson will be useful to many drivers (especially new ones) who've never been shown this before. Thanks 👍
The little red valv is for letting the air out of the system. When the tank runs dry the pump will suck in air in the fuelpipes. So what you do is that he fuel from the filled up tank gets sucked up to the pump it will push the air out of the system through that little red valve. When there is diesel comming out of the walw instead of air you are good to go. Just remember to close the valve as you said and tighten the manual pump. Stay safe mate.
spot on as always but ,,, some firms these days are that fussy thay will give you a writen warning just for changing a bulb so unless i asked first id sit in the cab and phone the office up ,, .ps not me i issue all my trucks and drivers a bulb kit and basic tools saves £100s and hours of waiting time
Changing trucks or fridge trailers all the time it's a good idea to check the fuel tank with a clean stick. Don't trust the gauge if you don't know the truck.
As an ex shunter the amount of times i have bled reefers .Pump A millions times made me laugh cos it is a pain. If only drivers would refuel the tank on return no problem. As you say ignore the gauge .Just top it up.

Think thats a bypass Raul as you pump diesel will go back to the tank when primed .
