Just saw this video. Really informative. The question I have is how did you find the torque specs. I can’t seem to find any material on this but would love to know. Thanks much.

Most manuals will have torque values based on what grade the bolt is marked. Unless there's a specified torque I go with the chart. I don't recall seeing one in the TYM manual but a chart is available with a quick internet search.

Great video, well done. Question, cruise control, does it work when in reverse? I have a TYM 474C and mine does not.

I'm out of town at the moment so I can't answer just yet. I'll be back next week and will try it and see. I just never thought of using it in reverse before.

My 2023 TYM 474C speed control lock does not work in reverse. I have a rear mount snowblwer and it would be nice.
I do understand the safety aspect of locking speed in reverse.

@@MikeGeoffroy-i4c the cruise control does not work in reverse, I wish it did too. Only forward, safety issue? Not sure, probably just saved some money, I think all the cruise is, is a magnet that is applied to the pedal.

Thanks for that answer. To be honest, I had forgotten about testing that on my 574.

Hydrostats have a relatively short life span and are very expensive to replace. If you plan to replace the machine after short time they should be o.k. But if this will be a tool for years of service opt for the traditional drive train.

I also have a shuttle shift LS that does the lion's share of the work bush hogging, discing, etc. Hopefully that'll pay dividends in longevity with the hydrostatic.
