1977 mustang it has a four, same pattern , ups package vans have your same pattern, 18 wheeler freight liners have that same pattern but also have a toggle to go to 12 gears
You push for example vw made cars the gear shift lever and go to “firs gear” which is reverse or I had BMW where you “double push” to the left and then go up to go to reverse so it depends who makes the gearbox
Uhm, on most 5-speeds, reverse is bottom right, but this is a 6, and different auto manufacturers put reverse on a 6 speed in different places.
😎
Did the person only drive a 5 speed, so thought the reverse was in the wrong place? Only thing I can think of.
It's implying that many people today never learned to drive cars with manual transmission. Especially in the US
They had only driven American based cars, which traditionally have the reverse gear on the right side.
Both international trucks I drive daily have this gear setup.
That’s pretty cool to know.
This is the same set in my GT86

Good info.

All depends on who makes the transmission
Yup.
Nah, going for first gear and suddenly finding out you are on reverse is not fun
Great reason to pull everything out for a turbo build 😮
That's exactly how my ms3 is set up. Not sure what's wrong with it
😎
Reverse is normally on the far right bottom?
Only on 5 speed
Typically on US based platforms yes.
This is exactly the pattern on my R 60

Nice!
The race mode is before first when it should be after 6!!!!
Lmfao that's gotta be a troll 😅
😑
This is a European!!
That’s right. I believe some of the Asian cars are like this as well.
Actually 5 speeds like my 318ti have reverse on the left
I believe all BMW transmissions have it this way.
Ford
Hmmm, I thought Ford was on the right side. Which trans has it like that?
