ZF 6 Speed Transmission Solenoid Replacement
After already replacing my trans pan and mechatronic seals I got a fault for shift valve number 1. I had to dig back into the trans to replace the shift solenoids. It's actually a pretty easy job to take on.
For a detailed video explaining how to remove the mechatronics unit see my previous video where I also replace the seals. -th-cam.com/video/Gepkug1SEM8/w-d-xo.html

    I know this is an old video but I am upgrading as well right now and I have already hit issues. How were these JL speakers with the volume up? Did you ever notice these speakers clipping out or popping? I have the B&O in my 22' Lariat and I bought some decent Infinity Reference 6x9's and the audio was SOOOO much better. However, within the first few days, I eventually made it through the playlists to some thumping songs and the speakers I installed started clipping out at loud sound levels. I measured the power and I wasn't exceeding watts and the ohms match. But above Volume 20 the speakers began cutting out really bad every time the bass hit, with a loud pop. So now I'm looking for "better" speakers to try. I wasn't trying for increased quality of a multi-amp setup. Honestly, I just thought that the stock B&O sounded muddy, no matter the EQ settings and so I was looking for more crisp highs than the stock paper cones are capable of without having to run wire for component speakers. Thanks for the info!

      I'll be honest, what you're describing sounds like what my original speakers were doing. Though I don't think I cranked the volume quite that high. I believe the factory amp has some attenuation of the signal at higher volumes to protect the speakers built into the logic. I wonder if that could be the case for he sound?

    Want to blow your mind? Read the owner's manual and you will see that "normal driving conditions" are NOT what we typically drive on a regular basis. We actually drive "extended or more than normal or even harsh/extreme" conditions. That means the extended oil changes are not really supposed to happen. You are not supposed to let your oil go for 5k or10k mi if you drive more than 8k to 10k mi a year, drive in dirty/dusty areas, drive for short and multiple stops and distances, drive in stop and go traffic, drive in congested traffic, idle even a minute amount of time etc. We all drive in those conditions on a regular basis and a majority of people drive more than 12k mi/year. You need to drive your car like Granny. Only a few times a week, to the store or hair salon and only to church on Sunday. Don't go over 8k mi/year. But even then, I'm still changing the oil at 3k miles.

    • @DrivingForwardBuilds
      @DrivingForwardBuilds 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Justin131993 First let's make sure the carriages are even going up. That should eliminate the balance cables as the problem. Then I'd double-check check the carriage sliders aren't binding on the pressure release. After that, a hydraulic restriction would be the last path. A tight bend, kink, or line failure could cause one side to "pause" overcoming the restriction and then lowering it. Is this an old lift, has the fluid in the system been changed? Also, I'm just a dude in his garage too, not a lift tech. But happy to try and help.

      It was a lot of drywall for sure. I was doing mine in early spring before the heat was terrible which was nice.

    I'm about to swap out the tension strut bushing that you show here and put in the Powerflex split bushings into my 2014 X5. From what I could see, there is plenty of clearance once the arm drops once you remove the bushing mount that you could leave the ball joint side connected, remove the old rubber guts, cut the old metal sleeve and remove the sleeve to install the new bushings all with it connected to the steering knuckle side. Is there any reason that you see why that couldn't be done like that (without disconnecting the ball joint side)?

      You could absolutely do it this way. The outer metal shell is going to be the tough part. Take your time and score it vs cutting all the way through. Then use a chisel to hammer it out. I’ve done exactly what you’re describing on subframe bushings and a few control arm bushings. Good luck with your repair!

      Well, since we spent all our money on the parts we add water to it to make it go longer.

      Either you don't live in Satan's armpit like I do, or you don't work in your garage. This made a tremendous difference for me with my doors.

    Where did you get the tool to held the crank?

    • @DrivingForwardBuilds
      @DrivingForwardBuilds 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I made it out of .125 wall 1-1/4" DOM tube. I bent in the two bends and then added a 1" tube into the end for length. The plate is 1/4" that I drilled to the bolt pattern of the crank.

    Run that 3inch house with a reducer to 1 1/2 then some flexible clear hose long enough to reach the bottom of the wall. When you hear the machine clogging up pull up a little bit and repeat until the wall is filled to the top. Promise there will not be dust and a mess everywhere

    I run my own company doing this for the government in Kansas. There is no reason to drill 6 inch holes. This is creating so much more work
