And here's the shocking, surprise ,irony and history part of it . That 0.2 margin ott beat seb this rally equals ogier record of the closest finnish in the wrc. When Ogier beat his rival and now boss jari matti latvala by 0.2 in rally Jordan in 2011. That was 13 years ago. This is a record equal closest finish in the wrc

It's been said that Formula 1 drivers are the best in the world. These guys who drive the WRC cars are definitely the best in the world. How they can drive a car at those speeds in dangerous and different conditions is unreal. Mega Respect for the WRC

I said 2 rallies ago to my dad: How mad would Neuville be if Tänak clutches the title from him this year?
I don't want to curse it but....Neuville and Evans are known floppers.
I mean honestly it would be really sad because Neuville really does deserve a title and Tänak already got one.... on the other hand Ott is one of the greatest Rally drivers of all time

Best car, best start to season. 2 contenders out(Ogier, Rovanpera). Only for him to lose it and everybody else to win it.
@@iare19 Tbf i think 2017 was the year he should‘ve won. Fastest car and he won twice as many rallies as any driver…. but made too many mistakes. Especially throwing away a safe win in Sweden

Can't help it, but the fact that due to the new points system, the finishing position doesn't really matter, it in a way ruins the close finish.
One example. Thierry finished at 41st place and had 12 points in the rally, gets start position advantage on final day, due to off road on Saturday.

If it wasn’t for the Sunday points, Tanak would have been cruising like Ogier and would not have won the rally. Tanak keeping his championship hopes alive by chasing Sunday points to catch Thierry is what gave us this outcome. Winning the Rally is winning the Rally. Seb was trying to get the win record in Sardegna and was denied by bad luck and not pushing on Sunday like the full time drivers.

Sordo 3rd 16 points, Thierry 41st 12 points, next season keep the original points system for overall placing, remove power stage points, keep super Sunday points. Currently demeaning the effort for the whole rally.

Congratulations Hyundai/Ott Tank 👏but as a mad Toyota fan boy I feel so disappointed 😞☹️ Toyota seriously needs to go through the entire "Data" with a fine tooth comb Italy's 2024 Rally Sardegna coz I strongly believe there is something not right with the GR Yaris, clearly Hyundai cars out performed the Toyota's especially on the last day, if one keenly scrutinizes Sunday Stage times from SS13 till the end of the Wolf Power Stage, 1st Hyundai won all the stages 2ndly Tank kept reeling in Sebastian times like a fish caught in water 😢 Sorry I believe there is "NO" way an 8 times 🌍 champion🏆can keep losing stage times one after the other despite the puncture on the last stage unless something is serious wrong with the car or "sorry 😔" Hyundai are cheating, I know those are very strongly allegations but please somebody (especially from Toyota) explain to me how if it isn't somebody sleeping on the job either on FIA side or on Team Toyota, maybe I might be denial due to a dismissal performance but seriously Toyota needs to find out how all over sudden Hyundai have become extremely faster then them or what's going on 🤔🤔 that said & done once again congratulations to Hyundai/Tank for the win😏, good luck Toyota on the next rally.
In my opinion, they should announce right after the powerstage in Japan that actually the only point system was 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 while the so-called new system was just used to fool the drivers to drive faster on Sundays, and thus the points weren't awarded that way in the end. It only requires the FIA to have the will. As a Eurovision fan, I ask if the FIA has learnt what happened in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969, that is, it saw four countries winning because of a similar-ish amnesty points system...
