    After just doing this job today (along with the front), there is definitely no need to disconnect the panhard like the manual suggests. With the front they suggest a spring compressor but it's not needed.
    Nice video, thanks for posting. Definitely the springs on an 80 are easy done in a driveway at home. Well done

    Greetings from NY! Love watching the Aussie LC videos, keep 'em coming. I see you have a diff seal leak, that would be a good video.

      Thanks for the message.
      Diff seal leak would be a great vid but that got fixed at mechanic when diff started to let go. I was short on time so got the lot done. Will get to more 80 vids as soon as my wrist gets better.

    What time frame does it take to do as I'm about to do mine but also front at same time, great video by the way

      It took me most of a Sunday. Started about 8 am finished about 2. 1 he off for lunch. Once you know what you need to do and have all tools ready you could possibly speed it up. Remember that it possibly took me a little longer as I had to keep moving the camera to film it.
      Some shots I didn’t like so re did those bits.

    Good video but no need to remove the panard rod end and you can do one side at a time. I would also not be trusting jack stands on grass, please use a good thickness plywood base plate

    Did you forgot to put the shocks in?

    • @blackllama1
      @blackllama1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      no shocks went back they just bolt up after the car sits back on the ground

      @@blackllama1lol.. ok, just thought that would be easier to install the shocks with the body jacked up.

    Great video. I need to change out my heavy duty springs for softer ones. Do you know if there are any tricks to changing the front springs?

    • @blackllama1
      @blackllama1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha. I not yet I have front springs to go o in but haven’t had the time yet. What I do know is don’t undo to much without having the body blocked.
      Changing bushes a while back it was getting very unstable.
      I do plan to do my fronts at some point but not sure when

    Hi mate. Just watched this vid of yours and I think I’ve watched all your other 80 series vids over the last 3 weeks. Couple weeks ago I bought a 1997 80 series that’s in mint condition. Doesn’t even have any scratches on the bottom of the diff ha ha. It’s also had the engine reconditioned 50k ago. Your vids are great and I’m getting stuck in to doing some modifications myself. Got a question for ya. What’s the measurement from your guard to wheel centre. I don’t know what it is stock but I think mine might have had a 50mm lift?
    Cheers

      Awesome I’m glad that you have joined the ppl that own 80 series landcruisers.
      And well done finding one in such good condition.
      I will measure for you. It may be a few days as I will be away till Sunday.

      It was definitely a good find. I did a straight swap for it for a foton tunland too! Even all the clear coat is still on. Thanks mate. No rush.

      Sorry for the slow reply. Front and rear are at 60 cm I think it has spacer blocks which I am thinking I might remove them.

      Awesome. Thanks for that. My rear is at 560mm with loaded titan drawers in the rear which weighs about 100kg.
