Considering how far away it is to my street from my house, I need a lot larger flag! 😂

I know what you mean. I used the smallest electrical tape I had on hand because I keep a pair of binoculars by the window. Otherwise, I'd have used a 2" wide tape.

Alternative, if the can is full, they didn't. If empty, they did. Pro tip, if it's on its side in the middle of the street its no longer your problem, full or empty

Actually, in this region it is a problem. And, we want to know without leaving the house when we are having bad weather.

    Rig it to blow 🌬️
Youll hear when they pick it up

I know mine is done because it's laid out on the ground, our guys must be in a bigger hurry I guess 😂

I've had that happen on occasion. But, they're usually pretty good about it.

No flag needed. Wheels towards the street before pick up, wheels towards the house after pick up.
Of course, this is not for one of those lazy driver-robotic arm pick up deals.

I agree. However, we are dealing with the robotic arm scenario where I live.

@@MasterYoist Otherwise, it’s a great redneck solution for that situation. 👍🏼😆

Lazy lol those guys still do alot of physical work. Just because your township contract is automated and limits the trash doesn't mean every day of their week is like that....I have 3 fully automated days and 2 regular days on my route. I use the "lazy robotic arm" truck all 5 days but still physically take furniture, and all trash on 2 of the days the other 3 I take all bulk once a month and the truck doesn't pick it up I do by myself for 4000 customers a week.

I don't really have a problem with the guys or their vehicles or the job they do.
I just wanted a way to easily tell which cans have already been emptied and which have not from a glance. Most of the year the weather is pretty bad here so I don't like going out until everything is already taken care of.

@MasterYoist I didn't think you had any issues with the guys. I understand why you made what you did. My truck has the bucket in front of the cab dual steer so I drive on the left to and from route, switch over to the right and drive standing up, the arm is on the bucket on the right side and the bucket lifts up over the cab and dumps behind it from above. When I dump my cans I typically keep the claw low on the can so that the lids shut when I'm done but depending on circumstances I may grab it higher up which will leave the lid open. If the lid is left open on my routes its either bc the can was way over loaded, super heavy, to far away, or I don't like that customer or I broke down and I'm behind trying to catch up lol
