Jacob, we spotted you right away with your selfie stick and commentary and thought, 'We’ve got a vlogger in the house!' Watching your video was such a treat - seeing the museum through your eyes brought fresh energy to the space. Ivan the T. rex, Logan the “Sea Beast,” and even the penny machine were thrilled to be featured!
We specifically wanted to reach out to express our deep gratitude for using your platform to model respectful museum practices. In particular, we really appreciate you following the signage about photography of human remains. While the mummified women on display may have rated 8/10 on the ghoulish scale (we got a good chuckle from that!), they’re 10/10 real individuals, and we take our responsibility to preserve their dignity very seriously. We wish all of our visitors showed the same respect that you did!
Safe travels, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime!
(For more information on the two mummified Egyptian individuals on display at the Museum, here is a video discussing their histories: th-cam.com/users/liveNShIH3SrW78.)
Thank you for the kind words! I greatly enjoyed The Museum! You have a unique and fascinating collection. I always try to respect the rules and be a good visitor!
@@TheCarpetbaggerhow long have you been a fan of wrestling
I didn't know there was a Pizza Hut Museum. These places need to be documented. Thank you for showing us.
it used to be a place WSU used to store office furniture when i was at school there. im glad they did something with it since i have graduated.
Hi
So many of these places are in middle America! And not the big cement jungle cities. True Americana !!
I love how Jacob finds cool museums 😊
@@mollysmith1226 me to
Loved the Adam the Woo reference....Shall you!
Just want to say thank you for making such an effort to describe what you were viewing when you did not film certain artifacts as the museum requested. Kept it very interesting.
Yes! We’re so thankful for Jacob’s respect in following the museum’s guidelines - it’s visitors like him who help us preserve the dignity of our collections.
I remember playing the table top Pac-Man video game at Pizza Hut while waiting for our little personal pan pizzas!
You're in my city!!! I just went to the Museum of World Treasures for my birthday! It's a great museum!
I live in Wichita as well, I can't believe that Jacob finally made it to Wichita
@@Masterjediwizard Ayy nice! And same here I was so excited to see this in my notifications.
@@arorabora OK State Fair starts today, I am assuming he will be in OKC today.
@@acatic80 he'll probably be at the Ok state Fair some time this week
We picked a shock of wheat because when the college started, the athletes would work the wheat fields during the summer to pay for their tuition.
JACOB!! In the ICT!!! So happy you are here visiting my hometown!! 🍕🌻 ENJOY YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS!! 🎉
I live in Wichita as well I can't believe that Jacob finally made it to Wichita
Like Pizza Hut, the Museum of World Treasures was originally quite small; it was located in the Kiva Mall across from Century II. On my first visit shortly after it opened, I immediately became a charter member after seeing founder/curator Dr. Jon Kardaski leading a tour of small children. Instead of just telling them about the Egyptian ushabtis he actually pulled the keys out of his pocket, opened up the case and allowed them to hold those ancient relics to feel the passage of time in their own hands. And those looks of wonder in their eyes was something I'll always remember! It really IS a world-class museum right here in Wichita!
My Pizza Hut memory is eating there with my bf around 1990. There was a jukebox there, and some sad sack dude was sitting on the floor leaning against it, and he played a single broken heart song over and over, literally the entire time we were eating our dinner.
That "sad sack" as you mockingly refer to him, obviously had a mental health issue or something bad happening in his life. He could have used a friend but instead you were bothered by his sadness and now you insult him publicly. Congratulations, you're a bad person.
Really impressive museum you found on a whim
Dang, if I knew you were here in Wichita, KS I'd have come said hi!
I have a personal connection to Pizza Hut as, shortly after getting my driver's license, I delivered pizza for about the years. I had both the jacket and the visor and I'd still have them if they were lost in the move to Florida in 2005. I loved the museum. A good friend of mine grandfather had a Nazi flag he picked up during the war. It served as shoprag in his garage. As for the troll, I don't know why you sought him out your on the Internet, you deal with enough trolls as it is.
Fun fact: in the German language, the word „hut“ is also present and means hat. With the famous red roof on the logo kind of looking also like a hat, many german people think it‘s actually a hat and pronounce the „hut“ in the name not the english way, but in the german way, claiming it would be the right pronounciation because they rather see a hat in the logo than a Pizza Hut roof.
6:35 “Ya never know when there’s a pizza 🍕 emergency, & you need to duck down & order a pizza w/ your shoes! 😂”. 🍕Hut👟
I miss going in and sitting inside the Pizza Hut. Eating your pizza at a table, under those memorable lighting fixtures! Now, it's mostly order online or delivery.
SOOOO many corporate fast food places have made all of their restaurants look like modern ugly metal boxes. They all used to look so unique, YOU KNEW when you saw a McDonald's, Pizza Hut, BK, Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc. but now they ALL look like ugly grey and brown boxes with no soul or character.
My fondest memories of Pizza Hut are actually from the last year.
I was stationed at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA and we lived on post. There is a Pizza Hut literally two minutes from our old house. At least once a month, I would take my three daughters down to it. We’d order our two pizzas and cheese sticks, go explore the GameStop in the same building until it was ready, head home and have dinner with the wife and kids.
Thanks for highlighting Wichita! I didn't know the Pizza Hut building was an actual museum.
If you ever come back to San Antonio, there are a lot of the older style Pizza Huts that haven't been remodeled yet. One of them off Fredericksburg road here has the old animated neon sign of Pizza Pete flipping pizzas, you can probably find a video online, but maybe you can check it out next time through the city.
Thank you for featuring my home town
Is it crazy to miss the good ol' sit-down, dine-in Pizza Hut? We had one near our high school, and I downed a lot of Personal Pan Pizzas there. I really loved their cavatini, too!
My local Ft.Lauderdale Pizza Hut in the 80s had a Jukebox that I played the hell out of Mr. Roboto. Pizza was great with those see through brown cups for soda.
That unknown brown bottle in Museum of World Treasures is an Uncle Jo Soda Bottle. Circa Late 1920’s
I also was never the biggest pizza hut pizza fan but we used to go to the pizza hut by me growing up for the pizza buffet they had. I do think their pizza was somewhat better back then than now.
Forever & always Carpetbagger the joy you bring to documenting our fine abode USA
I remember Pizza Pete...but then I'm old!! I remember the Alamo!!! 😂😂
Pizza Hut never had any type of dessert....until 1976. There was a new store built in Ellsworth KS. My family operated the dairy in town. My dad sent me up to the new store to get their business. When I got done, they sold individual ice cream cups. Plus we serviced their dairy needs
I saw that thing lurking around the Arkansas River, Jacob.
It was you! TY, sir.
Made that slog on I-70 out to Denver through Kansas. Never look forward to it. You are a trooper :) Looking forward to seeing where you go in Denver!
I love your channel I have been in very difficult times this year and your channel have helped me not to feel too depressed.🙏🙏
Wichita State has a world class bowling team
Yes they sure do
What a fun museum to visit. The second museum wasn’t bad either. 👍🏻
Thanks, I never get tired of seeing America!
That statue is hilarious. A angry obviously half naked hybrid 🤣
I love to see my hometown 😍 I haven't lived there in almost 20yrs thank you
Great video, Jacob. Love the pizza hut museum brings back memories of hanging out there. Till the next one, take care, my friend, and as always, safe travels.
I remember telling you to go to the Museum of World Treasures two or three years ago. I'm glad you finally came to our city to check it out. I would have loved to meet you, sir.
I remember him from the 60’s in Louisville. We ate there every Thursday when Daddy was at his bowling league. And then Baskin and Robbin’s for ice cream.
The mummies are incredible! It felt so surreal looking at them in person since I've never seen one with my own eyes. Probably one of the best parts of the museum besides the dinosaur bones.
WELCOME TO MY TOWN JACOB!
Mine too
YES! Wrestlefest was the funnest arcade game ever! Great memory, Jacob!
Morning Jacob my friend 🤓 great location of the birth of Pizza 🍕 Hut thanks for sharing this. Take Care hope Jenny is doing well.
I remember Book it way back in the elementary days.
I remember that Pizza Hut had a pizza buffet at different locations.
Cool Pizza Hut Museum. Pizza Hut Museum. The Troll is fun. Th e Native American is so cool!
I didn't know there was a Pizza Hut Museum in Witchita, KS. Hope it went amazing and had some of that pizza Jacob!
I remember Pizza Pete. He was big in the 1970’s. Pizza-Hut was our go-to hangout after school events.
“We’re here from ‘the West; Wichita, KS” had me rolling right from the start! 😂
Nice shout out to Adam!! I got that reference. Lol.
by the way I do remember the PETE character it was still being used in the 1970's when I was young , and the family would occasionally go to to the Hut. I also remember that Pizza hut stained glass chandelier which used to hang over every table in the restaurant back in the day.
~ Yes, I remember Pizza Pete. In fact, I have some Pizza Hut Matchbooks from a Pizza Hut in Seoul Korea with his picture on them. Got the matchbooks in the late 80's. I spent my 21st birthday in Seoul, and had Pizza Hut for my birthday meal.
Honestly I did that too Jacob. I loved the arcade machines they carried at my Pizza Hut.
Enjoyed seeing my state’s fair and my city Wichita from your perspective. As someone already stated the Arkansas River is pronounced differently here in Kansas. Not being “that guy” but just something that I think is interesting. My Pizza Hut memory was here in Wichita as a a kid 50some years ago. Went to leave after dining to find our car had been stolen. Safe travels Jacob.
WuShock is really good! I think my fav college mascot is ASU’s Sparky the Sun Devil.
I love the shout out to Adam The Woo!
Very cool 😎👍😊
My Fav Pizza Hut pie is a Medium or Large pan pizza with Pepperoni+Jalepenos+pineapple & Extra Cheese
Nice shout out to Adam the Woo! I do remember Pizza Pete, but I'm also about 12 years older than you 😂. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for your dedication!
When I was a kid in the early 90s pizza hut was absolutely my favorite food. Not just pizza, my favorite food. It was so good. They changed over the years, and now it's not very good. I want to say it was 2003 when I noticed the change. I now sometimes get it and I ask them to "cook it extra" and it gets a lot closer to the 90s flavor, but it's still different. It's WAY too sweet now.
I didn't have my first taste of pizza until I was 19. Loved that museum and the mascot.
I'm old so yes! I remember Pizza Pete!
Some of my favorite childhood memories, Pizza Hut on Friday nights in the 80s with my family. ❤
Always love Jacob energy ❤ you did a great job
Hi Jacob as a child I always remember In Leicester U.K a city , In the 1980's as a kid Pizza hut was always the RED one and I am not sure It was just a U.K thing but then we also had a Pizza Land basically the same thing however GREEN logo's etc...We still have some over here...I have always liked the cheese and chilli flake shaker's....I would always go OTT one the cheese....!!!!! XXXX
I am so glad they didn't tear down the original Pizza Hut thank God they reserved it
Great to see you visit my city I live in now and visit one of the great places in the city
Here's a riddle, Jacob!! What is the difference between a hippo and a zippo??
ANS: One is very large, the other is just a little lighter!!
The Trolls underground so quiet wish monster from Norway
I love pi,za hut thanks Jacob 4 sharing
I used to work at Pizza Hut. Found my husband because his sister worked there.
My first job was at Pizza Hut. Back when they still made the dough in the store.
If you haven’t gone before, House on the Rock in Wisconsin is my favorite museum to go to.
The Carpet Bagger has really grown on me. So much so, that I insist that he goes on our next vacation with my wife & I. I’m begging! 😀
Yay! Pizza!!!
The Pizza Hut museum was neat!
You showed me things I have never seen before at the state fair and down town
Make sure to try the fried green chile cheese curds at the New Mexico State Fair 👌
14:53 I appreciate the Adam the Woo refrence .
30:49 Love that troll! Soooo cool!
Fun Fact: White Castle also started here in Wichita, but moved all stores out of Wichita and never came back, so I doubt there's a museum for them... :)
I once had the unique opportunity to welcome a man from Scotland to the states. First thing he said was that he wanted a pizza and a Coca Cola! We found the nearest Pizza Hut.
I got some years on you but I do remember Pizza Pete from the 70's, he was on their logos and commercials of the time. Pizza Hut was I guess the first Pizza I can remember having outside of Chef Boy Adee out of a box at home. Still to this day if I am getting fast food pizza it is always going to be Pizza Hut.
I once won a radio show contest by answering some simple question and won a personal pan pizza, the first I had had, they hadnt been around for long back then.
I love pizza hut!
There was a restaurant at one point near me that had a Simpson's Pinball machine (maybe a few others) in what I think was a loft. Think my family only went there once. They demolished that building and expanding the strip mall, keeping the aesthetic as it turns the corner. I would say more but it would be a massive dox
There was also a teen spy movie with skateboarders an a Actual Pizza Hut small Pickup Truck with the Red Pizza Hut Red Roof cover/cap on it, in the movie ! ** I remember Pizza Pete ! We used to all go there after High School Football games ! Many a teenager love stories Started & Ended there !
Jacob, just a reminder the Big E begins tomorrow here in Massachusetts (our version of a state fair)
LOL, I have never heard of Mummies being referred to looking like and old ham. Very astute. Also, the only calves that can match that school mascot are yours Jacob! Keep crushing it at the state fairs!
Oh yes, that mummy looked in pain. Nice hair though. I looked online.
Thanks Jacob. Safe journeys 🇬🇧
Good morning Jacob
my favourite mascot is still the
UC Santa Cruz Banana Slug
I LOVE PIZZA HUT this makes me so hungry curse you Jacob!
I still have ALL of those Land Before Time puppets. I also have some Casper and Eureka's Castle ones :)
We lived by the first pizza hut in the city I grew up in. The tables all had that red and white checked table cloths and a lit jar candle so I remember pizza Pete but never knew his name. Imagine people thinking pizza would be a fad lol. How wrong they were 😂
Pizza has always been my favorite
Great video 🍕
I do remember pizza, Pete was introduced in 1964 and faded out in the early 80s
Yes Jacob. Pizza Hut does still have its old design restaurant (Inside is sort of change though).Where I live one is still open.also.I miss the salad Bars .But I can understand why they dumped the idea. Thanks for this cool piece of History .The rest of your video was very interesting as well. Thank u.
I got to see the Berlin Wall display at the defunct Newseum in DC, as well as a piece at the Isla Magica amusement park-since it was the setting of the 1992 Worlds Fair in Seville. There is also one at a Chicago L station
I worked at a Pizza Hut while in college. Lots of wild times there back in the day. I correctly predicted when when we were going to be robbed based on my Chief Wiggum map with pins. He was hitting all the Pizza Huts...we were next.
if you are still in kansas you should go to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, it has an amazing space collection
Pizza Pete looks quite a bit like the Kennywood Potato Patch mascot.
