I will always have a love for the Wicked Witch, not just because of Margaret Hamilton's amazing performance, but because Margaret Hamilton lived in my hometown for a short time after she decided she didn't want to become a teacher and dropped out of teacher's college. She eventually moved out to Hollywood. But the house she lived in about a mile from my house and is still standing. My town also housed refugees from the Salem Witch Trials whose house is also still standing on a street called Salem End Road. Find it fascinating that we have two people in my hometown that are connected to witches in some way.
Margaret Hamilton got seriously burned during filming and had to be out for weeks. She could have sued, but knew she’d be blackballed from all the studios in Hollywood.
So Happy to see more Wizard of Oz stuff. I love that movie. My grandma got me into it when i was little it was her favorite movie and became one of mine. Growing up i lived 2 hours from Vegas and the MGM use to have the Emerald City inside i use to go all the time.
I have been a collector of Wizard of Oz since I was 3 years old (39 now). My husband surprised me when we first got together with a 1st edition Wizard of Oz book. It really is the best movie ever made.
I started watching the Wizard of Oz in the late 60's and I looked forward to it every year. I saw the Wicked show and now I understand the "Bad Witch", I think everyone that left the theater that evening, was quiet and thinking about her. I have also saw Judy Garland's grave at Hollywood Forever and paid my respects to her, there is also a statue of Toto too. Jacob, you go to the best fairs!! I love your channel!
Ironically, the new Wicked movie uses huge practical set pieces, props, makeup, and costumes, but the amount of VFX overlay, compositing, and background replacement does make everything in the movie look CGI.
@moonbeammama22 I was shocked when I saw in the BTS, that the boat Glinda rides in on was a full scale practical boat, because in the trailer it looks like it's CGI. Same with the giant green OZ train. All real.
There is a street in Zaragoza, Spain named after the Wizard of Oz-among other famous films such as "The Birds" and "Signing in the Rain". However, the tram loops at Seven Samurai-don't know why
Hi there! My husband and I are fans from Tulsa! We heard you mention you’re doing the OK state fair and wanted to make sure you knew about some new attractions, specifically muffler people (Stella Atom a companion to Buck Atom and Meadowgold Mack) have been added to Route 66 here in Tulsa in the past few months in case you wanted to add it to your trip on the way out! Thanks for all the fun content!
Play these last few days my daughter passed away last Saturday and I have always listen to you because I have told you thank you for all your videos and they say thank you one more time today I watch the one Pizza Hut thing and yes I did recognize the guy I’m doing my best to carry-on but I must tell you I think you for your videos I think you so much coming from the same person it has always said I love you my husband and I I just devastated that we really enjoyed your videos are your adventures I should say adventures that we couldn’t go on but we had to loop that through you that it’s an amazing situation thank you from CAROLE And CSABa And our lovely daughter LEEANNN thank you😂
Holly molly you are magic..!!!! I just love this follow up to your visit the other day...A wonderful collection WOW I am so going to have a wizard of OZ binge I think It Is a movie for all time all ages for everyone.. XXXX Nice going Jacob
Another great town with a lot of attractions to see is Abilene. And it has the world's largest belt buckle. Pretty cool town. Hutchinson where the state fair is also has a awesome salt mine and cosmophere to visit. Both are really cool to visit and take the tour of the mine. Just some suggestions while you are here in Kansas 😊😊😊
The stolen slippers are stored in a vault owned by the insurance company that insured them. The museum is the only "person" that can purchase them back, i.e. pay the insurance payout back. But they can't afford to supposedly.
Jacob, get the Wicked audio books and can listen in the car, hopefully you won't be disappointed. Son of a Witch is my fav. One of them is written by the guise of the Lion.
Great tour through the Museum. Wow! People's opinions are different. I hated Return to OZ but loved OZ, the Great and Powerful. I enjoyed Syfy's Tin Man but it had little to do with the Wizard of OZ
A guild is basically a Medieval union in some ways. The Lollipop Guild thus is made up of Munchkins who produce and or sell lollipops (I work at a grocery store and the union is made up of members in all stages of production from growers-mostly just weed, packers, truck drivers, and grocery store associates)
We were supposed to be up at Trabuco Canyon campgrounds but no they’re on fire she passed away this Saturday before last I am devastated beyond belief I’m just devastated carpet bagger I think you for your hair videos you won’t even know I want you to know how much to help my husband and I we don’t want to miss her your videos help us oh my love Carole 🙏 0:17
Hearing “defying gravity” at the end was great. ❤ definitely see the movie! There’s actually not a lot of CGI! They made most of the sets and sceneries
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 you really move fast you were in north Carolina to see Lowe's and home Depot about Halloween 🎃 stuff, now your in Kansas lol for wizard of Oz lol hope you got some sleep. I hope Jenny is with you and doing well. Thanks for sharing this.
I hope i dont cause a bit of a stir, but I hated the Judy garland wizard of Oz movie. I am a huge fan of the books and they cut way too much out of that film. A lot of people don't know this, but there is a sequel to it, that came out in the late 80's called return to Oz. It stayed more true to the books. And i think it was one of the first films that tim Burton worked on. The books were much darker.
Awesome video! I had a hunch you might be traveling to Kansas after the way you left off previous video in NC. So cool! I have no interest in the new Wicked movie. Doesn't really look that great, other than visual effects. I saw a preview before Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice the other day. Also, I'd love to get to California one day to see Judy Garlands grave on the west coast, as well as Jack Haley and Roy Bolger. Also memorial site for Toto aka Terry, even though not really there. I've paid respects to Judy when she was still in NY, and Bert Lahr, Billie Burke and Frank Morgan on East coast. Must complete mission!
The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie. All of my personal dogs have been named after characters from the movie. I rescue, and don't name my rescues with Oz names or I wouldn't be able to let them go to their furever homes. I currently have Dorothy, Ozzie, Hickory (Tin Woodsman in Oz), Glinda, and Zeke (Cowardly Lion in Oz). I had Toto, Munchkin, and Emmy ( Auntie Em). Unfortunately they have gone to Rainbow Bridge. 😢 Thank you so much for this! I had tickets for the Beech Mountain event a few years ago, but a hurricane came and they canceled. These hurricanes here in NC sure can cause problems. So I guess they we able to hold the event this year. I was worried there could be damage.
Yes I agree Jacob!! Wizard of Oz is my favorite along with Star Wars! When my husband was deployed it was our thing to quote the movie lines and sing the songs… I asked him if he wanted to live in Kansas ( he was stationed there once before) and he said to me … Nah the first 30 minutes it would be in black and white lol I love your videos … you and Jen are awesome !
@@TheCarpetbagger just be advised, it isn't the wizard of Oz you've used to. This is the wicked witch's story and Dorothy is not really part of the story. But it does fit into the notion that Glinda is the villain.
I am glad that you got to see this museum I love it and Iam from Kansas and next to it is the oz winery too and it's all based on the creators of different

It wah-mee-go... but I grew up in Salina Kansas and I knew it was Wameeego because of the weather radio. Thank you, National Weather Service
I love this museum!! So thankful I live so close to it. I always find myself going there when I’m bored😂
Margaret Hamilton got seriously burned during filming and had to be out for weeks. She could have sued, but knew she’d be blackballed from all the studios in Hollywood.

I love the Wizard of Oz. This was a great video.. Thank you for sharing. I have fond memories of watching this with my dad every year and my siblings.
Love my postcard I get once a month, my grandkids get the mail and they say “ Meme, your friend sent you another letter”😊❤️
I think this person should know that this is one of my favorite movies.
I have been a collector of Wizard of Oz since I was 3 years old (39 now). My husband surprised me when we first got together with a 1st edition Wizard of Oz book. It really is the best movie ever made.

I went to that museum a couple of years ago because of you! I fell in love of every Toto in Wamego❤
You need to come to Kansas City, Missouri!! 😊
Went there a few months ago. Great museum and town.
Excellent video, Jacob. Makes my day watching your videos. Till the next one, take care, my friend, and as always, safe travels.
Ironically, the new Wicked movie uses huge practical set pieces, props, makeup, and costumes, but the amount of VFX overlay, compositing, and background replacement does make everything in the movie look CGI.
Yeah it doesn't make me want to see the movie, honestly. Was not impressed with the looks of it.
@moonbeammama22 I was shocked when I saw in the BTS, that the boat Glinda rides in on was a full scale practical boat, because in the trailer it looks like it's CGI. Same with the giant green OZ train. All real.
Wow, I guess I’ll have to give it a second look

Came here to see if anyone else thought it was 'lollipop kids" 😂
Lollipop Guild wasn’t it?

Magaret Hamilton's character was Miss Gulch as she was supposed to portray a spinster.
Holly molly you are magic..!!!! I just love this follow up to your visit the other day...A wonderful collection WOW I am so going to have a wizard of OZ binge I think It Is a movie for all time all ages for everyone.. XXXX Nice going Jacob
Also starting Sept 17th McDonald’s is having mini crocs in there happy means. I need to get some for my carpetpossum 😂
I saw a pic of a real live possum wearing baby blue Crocs and holding a knitted stuffed possum toy. It's adorable 😸
I thought when I was little and watched the lollipop guild scene, I thought they were saying the lollipop kids 😂
Love both movies
Dude you were literally 3 miles from me!!! Hope you enjoyed your time!

If you’re coming to Oklahoma state fair I can ride the Farris wheel with you!
I passed by South of the Boarder the other day and thought of you. That's where my husband and I "met you" on TH-cam.
You should watch the Wiz Jacob!
go down south, in Sedan Kansas they have a clown museum, and their own yellow brick road
I LOVE all the Oz content you always share! They’re my favorite of your videos! Thank you Jacob!!
❤
Be funny if Toto and Kansas collaborated. Soothsayer say, "I bless the rains down in Africa" or something IDK
I played the Munchkin Coroner in my Catholic elementary school's production. I'll remember the little song forever~
Great tour through the Museum. Wow! People's opinions are different. I hated Return to OZ but loved OZ, the Great and Powerful. I enjoyed Syfy's Tin Man but it had little to do with the Wizard of OZ
Hop you can head South, the Oklahoma State fair starts the 12th

Out at Japan watching carpetbagger’s americana 🎉
I think this person should know that this isn't the sequel to the movie The Wizard of Oz. Instead, it's other movie but it's scary.
A good museum you need to check out about Oz is All Things Oz Museum in Chittenango New York
the red crocs i love it also what a great vlog
I think we are not in jacobs car anymore 😂
Nope!

Sweet OZ festival!
Sounds like fun
Love the red crocs

A lot of people know about Return to OZ. Some consider it more horror than fantasy. It was Fairuza Balk's (The Craft) first movie.
Oconomowoc Wisconsin had a wizard of Oz eve t and movie night out on main Street downtown last Friday night. They have Oz display in a ally
43:44 I think this part is going to end up getting expanded once the movie comes out.
Thank you Jacob for sharing another great video. Watching you from Cathlamet WA state here.
Good morning Jacob and Jenn
Dororthy`s dress is blue and pink but the technicolor makes the pink look white
I have been to the Land of Oz and this museum is on my bucket list
Wicked will give you a better understanding of the wizard of Oz listen to the music
Colorado and had to wait a long time? Casa Bonita incoming?!?!

The Lollipop Guild devotes it's time to find out how many many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.
What Halloween haunts will you be visiting this year?
WHAT?? YOURE IN KANSAS!!! come to emporia. Nothing cool here, but some good places to eat lol!
At the end of the lion`s performance his crown falls off and bounces when it hits the ground
Do more of the wizard of oz
I thought it was”the lollipop kids”😂😂😂
Come to Muskogee,Oklahoma for the Haunted Castle of Muskogee. It’s Awesome!!!
There's also a state fair in Tulsa that's larger than the official Oklahoma State Fair.
The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie. All of my personal dogs have been named after characters from the movie. Have fun at Casa Bonita . Sure, love that place .
As a Wizard of Oz fan i must tell you,,you keep saying Mrs.Gulch. She is not a Mrs.she is actually Miss Almira Gulch.
My friend lives there
Check out the movie "Ozland" by Michael Williams. He did a great job on this inspired film.
cool museum!
Wicked is actually almost all practical effects. The sets are real, if you watch some things about it they talk about keeping it real.
I’ll give it a chance, the trailer looked CGI

Fun fact the original book that the author wrote is based off of his daily before becoming a writer.
