    Greetings from Germany, driving a low mileage 9-3 OG ( 2000) with around 80´000kms on the clock. Keep up your good work!

    Hello and good luck from Norway! The SAABs are worthy being saved! My 20 year old Saab 9-3 is really reliable in all parts and has only pixel problem like VW, BMW and many others. My three new-bought VW's the last 10 years have some electric motor or electronic trouble all the time. Remember to change the engine oil in time for all turbos and wait for the engine to be warm before pressing the foot on the gas, otherwise the turbo will die all too soon.

    Happy (belated) birthday! I feel your pain re: the birthday, mine is 9/11 and I have a freakin' Viggen - a black (can I still say that without being called a racist?) 2001 Convertible with 138,000 miles on him. This is my dream car and has been since I test drove a coupe in 2000 and fell in love. I had a base-model convertible that was a 1999 at the time, and was about to sign the dotted line and double my payment, when the guy who I dealt with in the shop all the time for my oil changes and such caught my attention. He told me that nearly every Viggen that left that dealership - including the one I was about to buy - was purchased by a guy who couldn't handle the torque steer and crashed it. He said that they put the brace on the suspension but he said he wouldn't put his daughter into the Viggen, but he knew my car and it was pristine. I fell in love that day, but I didn't think I’d ever see one again. My 1999 convertible was wrecked in 2004 when I was driving to work, I was rear-ended at a red light by a van that was going at least 45 mph, he hit me hard enough to move the three vehicles ahead of me forward, as well as my car. It was totaled but I still went to work that day, to drive a city bus. That was the last Saab I had, number 4, until I bought my current Viggen off eBay. It was $3700, and in Tampa, and gleefully drove it home to New Orleans. I've been fixing it up as things go wrong, or when I find something that I need, but it's awesome and I can't not smile from ear to ear every time I drive it. Thank you for what you're doing, I joined your Facebook group. I love my number 5 Saab more than any of the others, and it's been owned by older women in the south (no rust!)

    As long as there are saabs still running I will be driving one. Got a -04 Linear 9-3 with 221K miles on it. Still going strong. Also have my grandfathers 1975 Saab 96 V4. Take it out once every year for a joy ride and to give it some well needed excersice. Plan to fix it up...someday when I have the time.

    Just got a 01 Saab 9-3 loaded 5 speed 2L turbo, I paid 800 cad and after tune up and other small repairs she runs great and fast, Best Buy I ever made and invested in and probably the best car I ever had so far, I am looking for factory cup holder that’s between the stereo and a headlight wiper motor other then that everything works as it should and of now I’m always going to look out for others to purchase.

    Come to europe, get your hands on all the opel vectra/meriva/astra/zafira/signum with the 1.9 cdti diesel 16 valves, that engine goes with a minor engine tune up to 200 ponies and will last at least 300-400k miles, and yes, they are swapable to saabs 9-3/9-5 with no big hickhups

      Thats so crazy. If I go to the main used car website here in Finland, and search for saab, I get MORE wagons than sedans.
      And one day I heard from a american youtube video how Mercedes e55 amg wagons are very rare. Again, here its vice versa. When I checked, only 1 of maybe 7 was a sedan. Interesting.

    On his personal car, is that a Webasto moonroof? If so, I hope he checks to make sure the glue holding the glass to the frame is still good. There is a major recall on those that Webasto doesn't take initiative to inform all owners about. The glass will easily fly off while driving at moderate speeds. It also leaks water and ruins headliners while wind whistle is very strong..

    • @saabsofamerica5328
      @saabsofamerica5328  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might have something to do with the owner buying them from people who don't want to fix. Cars with blown engines for cheap show up all the time. Body damage however, usually go through the insurance system. Cars we can't buy unless we were the original owner. Plus he doesn't do body work so what other cheap broke cars does one buy? Lol. Hope that makes sense to you.

    • @mauriziomauricone
      @mauriziomauricone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saabs Of America It makes sense for Southwest Saab to buy those cars of course, but what I meant was it worries me they end up there in the first place because of engine failure in general.

    • @saabsofamerica5328
      @saabsofamerica5328  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mauriziomauricone meh, for the most part Saabs go well into the 200k+ they last forever BUT most of them have like one flaw if not handled you will meet your demise. So for enthusiast that know of this issue, it is resolved and car goes forever. For most of these cars South West Saab has, are from people who don't know of those issues. But it is what it is.

      Hey guys it's nice to see others caring for Saabs I had a 2000 Saab wagon , I blew the engine on it and junked it , but I managed to save my 2000 93 . It took me some time to rebuild it and it was all worth it.
