So turns out I watched this and liked it probably years ago. Good to know 😂

I was a proud owner of a Saab 9-3 Turbo X for 4 years. The problem was, that these cars were cheaped-out in conjunction with GM, and had the job was solely left to Saab: this car would have been properly spec'd and kitted, the ignition system was problematic and ran far too hot, due to settings left in too a retarded state hench creating too much heat under the engine hood and therefore constantly destroying coil-pacs and more, the best thing I did to eliminate this problem was a stage-1 remap from V-tune & the Do88 upgraded intercooler, this made a massive difference in performance, under hood temperatures and better breathing, also cooler running IKH-22 Iridium Denso spark plugs, freed up everything nicely, this should have been the standard factory setup instead of all of our sufferings caused by GM. R/tax and other running costs were quite hefty, otherwise...what a beautiful vehicle to own Does anybody know where or who owns her now...? RE09 UBD Saab: Born from jets... Saab: Moves your mind...

Can you safely put a modest tune on these t5 cars with everything stock?

I have the arc 5.3i and i was very surprised you thought it was barely faster than the 4.2 ive test driven the 4.2 and the 5.3 leaves that thing in the dust, almost 2 seconds quicker on 0-60 and i believe its 4 seconds faster on the 1/4 not to mention you can intall a turbo kit or s/c and make north of 700whp on stock motor

saab’s turbo cars sounds awesome with and without the sport exhauts! The turbo does the work i you like that! And stock is awesome! But for someone that had 2 diffrent ones! Its just if you like more turbo sound or more BAM BAM

I have a Silver Viggen and Turbo X. Sat inside I dont see the colour just they both bring me smiles. In the UK their is not may Turbo X and she is special, and though I agree with you, I am adding an induction kit to change the induction note. cheers

Just bought a 1995 900 SE convertible with the 2.0T for $1,000. It came with no exhaust after the catalytic converter, so it sounds exactly like this. already ordered all new exhaust, but I’m gonna miss the turbo spool.

211 Turbo X were made in manual for US market. Only 76 Aero XWD in manual were made for the US in 08 and 80 were made in 09 So very much more rare than the Turbo X Turbo X is much cooler though.

I just love to hear again, that SAAB 99 motor sound. SAAB 99 was my first car, that car was go everywhere, like a train, handling was hard, because there wasn't any help like modern cars have power steering. It was very easy to repair and because my father was mecanic by professional job, we usually doing some maintenance at family garage. Only big issue was rust and plenty of it. That need at the time so much welding and money, but we make our SAAB back road again, tme after time. What I can say, I miss my first car. Thank you for shearing this video and making me again memorylane to remember my youth.

As long as there are saabs still running I will be driving one. Got a -04 Linear 9-3 with 221K miles on it. Still going strong. Also have my grandfathers 1975 Saab 96 V4. Take it out once every year for a joy ride and to give it some well needed excersice. Plan to fix it up...someday when I have the time.

Didn't the trailblazer SS have a beefier transmission besides the 4l60e

I used to have a 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada with 4.2 and later i got a 2009 Saab 9.7X with 4.2 and i towed quite heavy trailers especially car haulers with regular sedans and it did a good job. Bravada has 275Hp and did good job and Saab with extra 20HP actually made a little difference in towing. I agree that low end torque was low but once you picked up some speed it was pretty good.
