Thanks, it is very cool to have it running. We are very surprised about the speed and throttle response of this tractor and engine, it will be interesting to see if the other two are the same as I do not recall our blue 61 being fast. Take care
Hello Joseph, it must be very satisfying when you take on a project like this and get it up and running. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching. Have a great week, Ben
I don't think health and saftey was invented when these were made. It is not only the belts that will get you if you are not careful. It does seemed a lot faster than our other ride-a-matics. Take care
@@GardenTractorBoy Belt guards weren't really brought to vehicles (or industry) until a few people got squished! That's people for ya. We don't react until something bad has happened. Glad to see the old tractor run!
Thanks Paul, I hope everything is good with you. It is surprising how useful it is to have similar machines to compare. The next one should be interesting and probably a lot more work. Take care
Sure makes feel good to see a project come together. You may see a thing here or there that needs attention but overall great job 👏. Thanks and have a great week
Great video fellas. Nice to see an engine fire up. Puts a smile on your face and mine. Great work as allways. Have a great Sunday. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋 55 tractors. 😳
Thanks for the conclusion to the cliff hanger of will it run and drive - looks like your hard work paid off and you and your dad got to share some Ride-A-Matic time together. One down and two to catch up with?? 😁
Thanks. I agree, a very cool tractor. We have never done a rebuild on one of those generator starters before but I think we will need to do that. Take care
That is why like these old Bolens so much. We have 47 Bolens in our collection now ranging from Ride-a-matics through to the big HT23's. They are getting much harder to find now and we have been looking for over a year for a ride-a-matic basket case to use as a parts tractor. Take care
Thanks. I think you are right, the parts manual says that the belts are special but I am sure we have fitted standard belts on a ride-a-matic before. Take care
The workmanship you have exhibited since you were a very young man has been exemplary, that is very rare these days. I always like watching your videos because you put the same effort into them as well.
@@oologahgardentractorandcha3055 Thank you for the kind words. We were very pleased with the way it ran once we sorted the belts issues. I think we will have to run it a lot more to understand fuel consumption better. Take care
I found in one case when I was working at a rental store where we also did small engine repairs that some manufactures require their own belts where after market ones won't last,, the thing is, the V angle on that manufacture "Ariens" was different from most belts.
The belts for this tractor does say they are special in the parts manual but I am sure we have put normal belts on one of these before. We buy some new belts of the type we normally use for the next one and see how that goes. Take care
One down. two to go 👍I would wager the con-rod is no longer connected to the crank on the next one. Maybe somebody put 90W in the gearbox ? that stuff never smells good. Best days to you and all your family Joseph !
Thanks. I think you are right with both of them. I am hoping it has not damaged the crank as it is only possible to get a +.010" rod. Take care and I hope you have a great week
Thanks Phil. I hope everything is good with you, I have missed not seeing a video from you for a couple of weeks. Take care and I hope you have a good week
Hello! I wonder if the previous owner used my Big J's prune juice in the gearbox, the reason for the bad smell! I think I heard a collective cheer from all your viewers when it fired up! It runs very well. Except for the belt issues. I hope you can get the right parts soon. Thanks for sharing.
How's she goin'? It was nice to see this Bolens startup and run. And it ran pretty good too eh!! Have you ever wondered what happens to the grease after you grease something. Like when you say the manual says 10 pumps of grease into the differential. The diff is an enclosed gearbox, so what happens to all the grease? I always wondered about things like that!! LOL Nice that the tractor went through all it gears though, so the transmission is OK. Thanks for sharing and congrats on a fine rebuild!! Take 'er easy!!
Thanks. We were surprised how well it ran and I hope the other two turn out as well. I did end up wearing some of the grease but it is a mystery where it goes. Take care
We ave seen a few on the US ebay site but I think the correct ones were over 100 dollars which seems a lot. If you think we have missed something please let me know the item number. Shipping is never cheap but we are able to ship parts via a shipping agent. Take care and thanks for the information
Good evening, Joseph. Other than a few minor things going wrong, it really ran very well after the belt change. A little hard on gas, eh, I wonder why?
Congrats on the running tractor. I am interested to see what carnage is causing no compression.
Thanks, it did run well. I assume the connecting rod is no longer connected to the crank but I hope it has not done too much damage. Take care
sounds well now joe , your really racking these small tractors up now, you need to start a museum .
Thanks, we are very pleased with the way it runs and it does sound good. A museum would be a cool idea. Take care
I love those big rear tires like that.
They appear to be all about business!
The tyres work very well on the tractor. Take care
Fantastic to see it up and running Joseph. The engine sounds very nice and very sprightly.

It’s alive! Sounds pretty good too! Awe man! Good find on the belt’s Joseph.
Thanks, it seems to run very well now. It took us ages to work out that the belts were the issues. Take care
Looks pretty cool running with the exposed belts. That screams antique tractor if nothing else. Well done...don't get a speeding ticket!

Thanks Del. I could not be happier with the way this runs. Take care
Hello Joseph,
Great to see it running so well and as you said you now have a reference tractor for fixing up the other two.
