    We'll be going over the code to control aiming and walking together after the next tutorial!
    So, for anyone wondering about the code, don't worry, I'll be giving you the scripts to control everything soon -!
    It's just much easier to code after you've prepared all of your blend trees and masks, so I'm covering that first :)

      Have you been able to resolve animations freezing when using an avatar mask?

    0:44 you can also press "Humanoid" and just press the body parts you want it to control. If it's green, it will be controlled. If it's red. It won't be :)

    I wish there would be tutorials as quick and precise as this for unreal engine. still maybe it's easier than i think to find the equivalent with a bit of research. Super big thank you, this is incredibly interesting. Can't wait to try it out myself when i'll have more time.

      BrOverShield You need an aim offset asset in Unreal, check out the content examples

    You could also use one aiming animation per gun, and use IK to aim.

    Hey, for some reason when i'm trying to mask top half of the body so only legs are moving (and hips are deselected) it still rotates my torso so it clips into camera - first person view. Is there a way to keep legs on the ground but have the body straight?

  • @branislavzivanovic4775
    @branislavzivanovic4775 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This can be done with IK and constraints too.

      ok so...how did you make one animation file for all 5 look? do u make each just a single frame or do i need to double my frames?.....

    Hey, where I can find the explanation of how to implement the masked animation to be rolling by Mouse aiming?

  • @mustafavurucu4944

    Hello friends!,
    I recently purchased a pistol and rifle pro animation packages from the Motus Digital in Unity Asset Store. While using these animations, I couldn’t efficiently utilize the aim_offsets animations. When I create an avatar mask and use aim offsets, the upper body of the character moves strangely. Because aim_offset animations are in pose form, the upper body remains fixed during gameplay. It moves entirely based on the movement of the lower body, giving the impression of a bodybuilder who has never done any stretching exercises. How exactly should I use these aim offset animations? My goal is to make my TPS character aim up or down based on the mouse position while in motion. I dont want to use IK constraints.

  • @CosmicComputer

    awesome, I've always wanted to learn how to do avatar masks properly, I wonder though if the animation rigging package is going to make this kind of obsolete going forward?

    could you make a tutotial how to blend aim offset to attack animation like knife slash ?

  • @valkayrie1198

    Just want to make sure I have this correct in my head. Do avatar masks only affect bones? I have blendshapes I want to trigger on hand gesture. I know I need the mask green for the hands but do I need it green for the body parts the blendshapes affect like the face and cat ears?

    • @TheRoyalSkies
      @TheRoyalSkies  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe they are primarily for bones. But, if you have blend shapes that are triggered by bone rotation, the blend shapes still work when that bone is controlled by the mask. If you don't want a mask to affect the ears and face, make sure those bones are not selected in the toggle area :)

    I don't think it would be a good idea to put the Majora's Mask on Aang :P
    Jokes aside, what version of Unity are you using? just wondering since I want to follow the tutorial with the least barriers possible, and I feel that I just use any other version something may be different that may end up making it hard to follow the tutorials step by step.

    • @TheRoyalSkies
      @TheRoyalSkies  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 2019 version I believe. I heard 2020 just came out, but, I haven't switched over yet. But, Unity very rarely changes it's GUI. It's not like Blender where the 2.79, 2.8, and 2.9 are all drastically different. I've been using it for over 6 years, and old tutorials I find still apply to the latest version :)
