    This is the most valuable Tekken video I've watched in a year, maybe two. What a great content!

    18:08 It is hard to teach someone that isn't fundamentally sound yet in a fighting game. If they don't know their own basic info, or how matchups generally go, then really any advice basically boils down to "learn X." "Punish X, deal with Y by doing Z." Until someone gets past that point, they can't really move on to the next stage of things because they'll just lose because of their gaps in knowledge.
    For most low level players, there isn't much of anything that a top-tier player could reasonably teach them at their level that a intermediate player couldn't. Even if they did go into high-level strategy, they simply would lack the necessary skills to actually implement them.

      What is in your opinion a good step/ladder for this process of learning?
      I'm trying to get better in my gameplay but i feel i'm always stuck after months, then i learn something and i'm stuck again.
      I'm a Kazuya main and i've been always stuck in low ranks online, i've reached suzaku after so many years (i also don't play daily but i take a lot of breaks).
      I also play in meet-ups offline with a good amount of competitive local players and i'm pretty good against them, they always give me advice and they say that i'm good with kaz. They don't really go easy on me and i get beaten a lot.
      They are kinda the elite of the tekken scene here where i live, they always partecipate in national tournaments and they also go on european tournaments.
      When i go online i just can't understand why my gameplay feels so sloppy and always lose (apart from the cheese strategies and lack of knowledge that i'm trying to fill).
      I was also thinking of changing main, i really love kazuya and it's hard for me to separate from him. I also picked Yoshimitsu, Devil Jin, MRaven, Bryan as a secondaries but i always find myself coming back to kaz.
      My wavedash game is good, my 50/50 and timing is good i'd say, they always compliment me and i trust them, but i honestly feel i lack something and i can't understand what.
      I feel that i know most of the mechanics of the game, throws breaks, characters's strategies, have a good reaction time for low blocks and stuff like this, but this game makes me feel like i don't really know shit.
      I play since tekken 3, never got into competitive play until T7 first release tho. I'm also not very active in the community and even less in my local scene, i know that this is not good but i can't really do much about it since i'm busy studying and working and i'm really far away from their city.

      @@Seacae Try analyzing your gameplay, especially games where you lost. Actually find out what you are losing to, rather than calling it cheese.

      @@Seacae There really isn't a substitute for experience. The biggest thing you will learn is if you have the capacity to implement ideas or react to things. Once you acquire those skills then gathering info from playing will naturally translate into improvements. Being a good mechanical player doesn't necessarily mean you will win a ton in Tekken, it's about creating a gameplan that beats either the character you are facing, or the player. If you want to play Kaz, he is a vortex character so you will live and die by the blade.

    How was he blocking every d2 on the wall while saying hes giving a bait. This guys crazy good

    • @blakesimmons5130
      @blakesimmons5130 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A few reasons
      1) JDCR's reaction time is just better than that of us mere mortals
      2) with his back against the wall, Dragunovs only options are to jab, df1, or d2. Everything else is too slow. Knowing to expect the d2 makes that 20f much easier to recognise, whereas it's much less clear what the opponent is going to do out in the open when he can move freely

    • @husband20yearlivesickdie40
      @husband20yearlivesickdie40 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@blakesimmons5130 no one reacts to d+2 what are you on about
      it's because Dragunov doesn't have moves to reliably check SSR-duck at immediate timing. Fast mids get stepped left whilst d+2, his best tracking move, is much slower than his mids. JDCR was telling the other Drag to stop trying to fight his way out of the wall and not take the SSR-duck bait.

    I miss most players using characters that take timing, baiting and at least a bit of sound fundamentals
    Now they're all on Kuni, Marduk or some other easy asf playstyle and offense with most of the onus on the defender naturally being very hard, oh well!
