This step by step tutorial is becoming my camera bible. I followed along and paired my camera grip with my Sony ZV1. Your explanation of the various features of the camera grip and how to change the angles is wonderful, Jason.
I just bought the zv1 and grip. The manual I found online was useless in explaining how to link the two. I found another YT vid that explained it. This fellow is very good.

Hello, I only had the grip for about a month when I reviewed it. I didn't keep it, because I felt it was too small for the A7C and lenses I wanted to use. It's better suited for smaller cameras like the ZV-1 in my opinion.

@@Jason_Hermann Does it go into sleep even when the camera is still attached to it? Or does the camera have to be detached in order for it to go into sleep?
Yes, as soon as the camera goes to sleep or turns off the grip does the same. It has a keep alive of some sort though, because the grip knows when to wake-up. The batteries are super cheap (Extra Batteries (CR2032): geni.us/PSBj ) and they last a fairly long time, but Sony does not specify how long they will last for.
Thank you for such a clear instructional video! I plan to use the VZ2 for top down instructional art videos, so I need my hands relatively free. I am purchased this primarily for the zoom in and out feature. If I were to make to let's say get a knot in my thread and need to pause to correct the problem, is there a pause button or do I have to stop the video and start again and edit? I hope there is a pause? Thank you!
You are very welcome! No pause, just keep recording and edit out that part would be my suggestion. That is what I do when recording and make a mistake, I just compose myself and start over, and edit out that part...

I bought this because of this video. Only one issue I have is, how do you turn it off once you are done using it?
You don't turn it off because it goes onto sleep mode on it's own.

I think you might have the self timer on? Does it make a beeping sound before it takes the photo like a countdown?
