The father of the drummer designed the kick-drum construction, just for him! There just wasn’t anything that would work for him so he just made it himself to make sure his son would keep his dream going. Nothing but respect!

The drum company that endorsed him also was involved in the design sessions. Mad respect.

After the crash while in hospital Epitaph records came and said that they cut the royalties and that all the money goes directly to the band for their existing and previous records while they recoverd from the crash.

I didn’t know this band until this song came out. I cried to the first 20-30 reactions I saw. Amazing story and band.

I cry every time I hear this song, not out of sorrow but how insane the strength of this band is. This song got me through probably the hardest shit in my adult life.

They have a podcast where they talk about the day of the crash, their time in the hospital, recovery time and the struggles they went through. It's a very good podcast. 1333 Days is the name of the podcast. I love this band so much! 🤘🏽

After my own brush with death in 2016, this song says a lot ... the beat goes on! Live for TODAY, tomorrow is not guaranteed and yesterdays don't come back. Not expecting this heavy story but thanks for bringing it. So glad to see them fighting through adversity and not letting depression win. Giving up is the easiest thing to do.

Damn. That was one inspirational story from the band. These kinds of stories must be hard to tell, but I am happy when people do. I hope all the best for the band in the future.
Seeing your emotions with these stories really shows how much you care and it is awesome to see. Fantastic reaction once again.

Powerful... As someone who's come back from near death myself - due to chronic illness rather than anything like a tragic accident such as that one - that sort of story hits home and hits you hard! Must be pretty awe inspiring to see things from a drummer's perspective too and how it must have affected him... That sort of thing you have two choices, either let it get to you and spiral in to a dark place or rise from it and use it to strengthen your resolve and fight harder. Really makes you realise you have to live for the day and enjoy life to it's fullest, as it can end or be changed so much so quickly.
After such an emotional song your really MUST now watch the Metal Kitchen #1 - The Ghost Inside Makes Shepherds Pie - it'll cheer you up instantly (and give you a massive crush on Linzey Rae!)

these guys kick ass and i'm so happy they continued making music even after that crash. if you like a good comeback story for a band you should checkout Death Is Not Defeat by Architects as well, it's the opening track to their first album back after losing their primary songwriter and the drummers twin brother to cancer. incredible track and album

I’ve watched dozens of reactions to this video. You were the first to realize it that quickly… I was at their comeback show at the Shrine in Los Angeles and their drummer, Andrew, played a flawless set for 90+ minutes. Powerful shit

Of all the reaction videos, I think this may be my favourite because, albeit from the original hint, you picked up on the story and the drummer straight away, and I guess the technical talk of how difficult it would've been for him.

That was just.... hell of a way to start your music video and what a response. I am sure so many fans just wanted to see them be ok and maybe thought they might not play again or same as before but just wow. Great for them.

It's hard and no mistake when your body changes that dramatically, having to relearn a skill that came so naturally before. I've got ms and losing sensation and dexterity in my fingers/legs was bad enough, it's awesome he's managed to adapt and still play so brilliantly! It's just amazing that the band is all still rocking like that!

I know i´m kinda late on that one, but if you have the chance and time ;)
Watch out for the podcast "1333 days", Andrews fightback and the comeback-show at the shrine. Saw it in a lifestream-event last year. Straight two hours crying. What a amazing story.
Can´t wait to see them live this summer

the device that andrew( the drummer) is using , has been created by HIS dad after the professionnals told him he will never be able to reach his level again ..because of the weight of a prostectic leg etc ..his dad decided to build something, they made a few prototype but this is the final product , its not just andrew story but also the proudness of a dad that want to help his kid reach his dream again
