Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. I just started my first corner this morning and I'm so glad to have this tutorial to help me along. :)

I'm working the first corner, and I just don't know what I would have done without this tutorial. Thank you so much! One question--what row is the point at which I begin picking up the wrapped stitches? Is it row 45? Again, many thanks!!

Hi Amy! That's awesome! I believe someone had a similar question over on the blog--check in the comments there, as you'll likely find all kinds of good advice from folks who have made the blanket even more recently than me. The post can be found here: knittingthestash.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/stornoway-throw-corner-wrap-and-turn/

I have had this blanket sitting for 7 years now because I'm too scared to do the corners :/ Guess I need to get busy trying ;) Thanks for your video :)

Me again. I'm about to start my first corner, and have found 4 different ways to do the corner turn. I'll pick one, eventually. But my real source of confusion is that the Anita Grann instructions show picking up the wraps on the RS, while yours show picking up on the WS. It might not make much difference, except that it looks like in the Grann approach, you have to pick up two wraps each RS row rather than just the one in your instructions.

Help!!! I’m starting the corner chart !
    This is the First corner.
I left off with row 9 of the corner chart last night.
Picked It up again to figure out this pattern.
I know I’m to pick up the wraps on the wrong side rows.
But when do I pick them up?
I wish there was more visual representation of this throw.
    Like starting the 1st corner.
    Anybody have anymore recommendations?

I am working on this patter, but I just got to the point in the pattern in which I must pick up stitches along the side of the blanket. Did you use a second circular needle at this point or did you pick up the stitches on the same circular needle you worked the main body on? I can't figure out i would fit all of those stitches on the needles at one time.

I used a super long circular needle--an interchangeable, in fact--that allowed me to link two lengths of cable together. I hope that helps!

I just started the cable portion of this pattern and I'm mighty confused. I don't know if I start the 2/1 RC stitch where it's marked on the pattern, or if I start it one or two stitches before. I also watched another video and it seems like some stitches call for slipping a worked stitch from the right needle to the left and re-knitting it . Do you have a tutorial that explains how to start the cable portion of this pattern?

Hi Bridget, I do not have a specific tutorial for that step, but my blog www.knittingthestash.wordpress.com has a long thread about the pattern and includes some really helpful knitters who have been working on the blanket more recently than I have . . .here is the direct link: knittingthestash.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/stornoway-throw-corner-wrap-and-turn/ Good luck!!

I just started the section of the pattern where it instructs me to cast on 37 stitches onto the left hand needle and use these only to work the edging. I'm a little confused though about how this will result in an edging around the entirety of the blanket and not just a blob of edging off to the side?

Hi Becca--Sondra and I posted responses on the bog--let me know if you need more help!

Thank you so much. I just started this project on the large one and I’m nervous because I think the CO number of 142 doesn’t make sense in following the body 15 stitch repeat. If something that simple is wrong, I’m in trouble or over my head. I hope I’m wrong.

How long of wire in-between your needles? I'm just ordering my supplies for this blanket and Id rather only order once :-) thanks!

Hello--I used the longest cord in my Addi interchangeables, so 40"

Is there a tutorial for the first side of the corner?

    • @knittingthestash
      @knittingthestash  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Ann, I only posted the tutorial about the second half of the corner. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them. You can also try the designer. She is pretty fast on email responses and is very helpful!

I didn't mark my wrapped stitches when doing the first half of the corner, how am I supposed to know what to pick up when doing the second half?

Thank you so much, this tutorial was hugely helpful as I had never done wrap and turn before. I had a difficult time on the corner of the edging so made my own video in case it helps anyone. Warning I am not great at videoing so the quality is not like the great quality of this knittingthestash video! th-cam.com/video/Yq2UULtZ2QI/w-d-xo.html
