Speaking of cold weather! This might be an unpopular opinion but it works for me: once it’s starts getting cold I say goodbye to jeans. Denim is an extremely cold textile that takes forever to dry (hence not the the best when it’s snowing or when it rains horizontally like it does in really windy places). Midi wool dresses and high waisted trousers work best in my opinion. Also investing in one good coat that fits your frame and covers your bum is a must. Xx

the only thing is, this will only work if you're already slim. My friend has a bit of a belly and tucking in shirts or wearing crop tops she hates because she says she's self-conscious about her stomach

Yep! It's all about balance. With my hourglass figure when looking head on & belly that really shows up in profile, I can't do high rise & settle for mid rise. Notice how no one addresses profile belly problems.

When you did the split screen with the bulky cream sweater I laughed so hard because that’s exactly what I look like in January-March 😭 I live in New Jersey and I’ll admit that sometimes fashion goes right out the door for me when it gets frigid. I liked the suggestion of layering thinner materials. I’ll give it a try when I need to look presentable lol btw I love all your videos. I’m also 5’1 and tucking in my shirt has been a game changer

I laughed too, I’ve definitely been the one on the left! The side by side was great. It makes such a difference when you layer the right materials, like thin cashmere vs bulky cotton knit. Although if its really cold you better believe I’m considering walking around in a sleeping bag and I don’t care who’s judging me. Luckily it doesn’t get that cold where I live and I don’t have to resort to that😂

You're my favorite fashion vlogger and I absolutely love your style... but there are so many tips on your channel that unfortunately just don't suit me! I'm very short-waisted so high-waisted pants are super uncomfortable for me and aggravate my reflux, pointed shoes exaggerate my size 11 feet, and I get freezing cold in crop tops... sigh... a reminder that everybody needs to tweak fashion to their body/needs. The ideas that have saved me are long dusters, tucking in my shirt, nude shoes, and adding jewelry. Thank you, you're super classy and helpful.

I love this. I am short: 4’11. I have a very small torso which is dominated by my boobs: 36 D.
So it is so hard not to look like a ball during the winter but I started wearing high waisted pants and trench boats instead of bulky ones.
When I do wear thicker coats I get the ones that tie at the waist so it gives me shape ><
I will take your ideas into consideration ~~

So many good tips I can follow, only in theory. Cropped anything just doesn't look on me. I can't make myself wear it. Not a trend that meshes with me. Instead, I get longer sweaters and match them with similar colored pants or leggings. I never get funny looks. I just try to hide my bustline whatever I wear.

Hi Bethany, and thank you for the insightful video. As I also am not statuesque, I leverage my small waist. I love wearing waist-fitted tops and short jackets. I personally always wear some type of heeled shoe; this time of year that would be platform booties. For coats I prefer them to be long, slim versions, either in solid or small plaid. For tops I generally wear solid and neutral tones, but do like small prints in floral patterns, thin stripes, small plaids, or the rare leopard print. I do wear jeans often---skinny, boyfriend, and flared seem to work best on me. Lastly, I never carry large bags as they simply overwhelm my small frame. Thanks again for the fine video. Cheers, Ardith

I really enjoyed this video,I always can use tips to look taller 😅 On another note, you mentioned in a video that the apartment tour will still take a while, but i also always notice you beautiful plants in the background- i am really bad with plant but love the look and the vibe so much, have you thought about doing a video about your plants and tipps and tricks to keep them alive? 😊

Your style is so elegant! I really really love what you do.
Sadly I live in a place where regular winter temperature is between -20 and -35 C (-4 and -31 F ) so have no choice but long puffer jacket + a couple of sweaters and 3 pairs of pants. No single chance for the elegance 😅

I don’t see the point of a cropped puffer besides aesthetics. If it’s cold enough to wear one in the first place, the part needing the most insulation is the lower abdomen/lumbar spine. Failure to keep this warm can result in kidney infection. Plus I beg to differ. Petites can totally rock a full length puffer with a bit of swag.

JBO2493 I ride a motorcycle every day. Cropped puffers are essential for me b/c my movements are impeded if I am sitting on a long puffer. While I like the aesthetics of cropped puffers, it’s not all about that. It’s also about safety and lifestyle.

Nancy Suarez a hip length puffer is fine. I use those too. Those that crop at your waist however are useless and merely a fashion item.

Is that really true that failure to keep your lower abdomen/lumbar spine warm can result in kidney infection? No, not true. You do not get kidney infections in that manner at all.

    • @JBO2493
      @JBO2493 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Barbie c you’re right. What causes a kidney infection is in fact bacteria. But letting kidneys get cold is never a good idea. They don’t like being cold.

This is so incredibly helpful🙌🏻 Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
I have short legs and am kinda hourglass shape with a small waist. However I have put some wait on my hips and high waisted trousers do not look so flattering often times because of that.
Do you have any suggestions on what to wear?
    Appreciate you so much🤗

this is the first video of yours I've ever watched and for the first time in my life I don't feel lost about fashion! we also have the exact same body type (tho I'm a liiitle more on the pear side). it's incredible to see how the way you style your clothes can alter the way your body looks. like, your legs look waay longer, plus, you look much more put together. I have my midterms this week but once that's finished, ya girl is going shopping! good thing i found your channel, will need that advice while I'm shopping. subbed!
