- SIMGOT has once more launched a product capable of putting up a fight with the more established players.
This time around we have the EA500, the entry level model in this series , but by no means the lesser one.
Sporting a 4th Gen DLC driver, in a all metal shell build and finished to the same high standard of its brothers, it has a few tricks up it's sleeves to justify it being a player.
Aside from the complete and good quality accessories, there are two tuning noozles which either give the EA500 a HARMAN style tuning or then a SIMGOT house tuning, in essence a more energetic HARMAN.
Overall a very solid performer the EA500 will satisfy those that like a vivid, high energy presentation that is always in control and never looses it's composure!

I am curious what would happen if you put a Tanya filter on the nozzle of the EA500. It might bring the pinna gain down closer to MiM DM territory.

Thanks for the review Tony. I have the ea500 and ea2000 on the way - been waiting ages for them to be available for purchase. It will be interesting to see how the passive radiator works on the ea2000 😁

@@akros9333 I ordered mine from Linsoul last week 😁 Also got the TRN MT4 and TA3(2 DD + 1 BA) on the way. My IMR Seraph arrived last week too. Mate that's a beast of a set! CNT ADLC DD + 2 BA + MEMS driver. It's awesome

@@akros9333 Problem with graphing is that it's got so many tuning nozzles! I'll send you across a graph later this evening with the black bass and blue treble nozzles (I use this combo the most). Honestly the bass on this is fantastic, but it's got excellent imaging and separation too. Heilung Lifa can become very congested on some tracks but this set aces it. It's also ruined the Doom OST for 95% of my other sets - they're all just left wanting ☹️

I have the EA500 and I can attest to all your findings here, and I personally think it's a better choice than the Aria or Olina, perhaps because I am a treblehead and I love a "technical" set. Hope you get the chance to review their flagship EA2000 - I heard they introduced new speaker tech in that set and I havent seen any english reviews for that anywhere

Hi Tony, what would you consider the best single DD iem under $300?
Uffff that's a hard one.....depends on what you prefer.....
My personal favourite is the Oxygen, but Sonic Memory SM2 and Penon Vortex would be very very close second
The are a few hidden gems.... BQEYZ Autumn is pretty amazing, while slightly modified Harmonic Dune Devil and Hiby Lasya are tremendous
Is it nice to listen to at low volumes? I haven't met anyone into audio who listens at a lower volume level than I do
It sounds great at low volume , although my sweet spot is 30...35%

I would say the Olina SE is excellent in that department, but EA500 is up there with it, fit might be is failing point....listen to them if you have a chance!

@@milkyway6080 the Starriver is very good.... ultimately it looses to Simgot because the driver is of very good quality for the finer details come through incredibly well. The Olina SE also just slightly edges the SR. The SR has an excellent price and if you get the right tip the performance is gonna be very very good!
@@akros9333 the prices in my country are somewhat different. Olina SE sells for about 126€, Simgot 90€ and StarRiver 70€. I may also get the Letshuoer S12 pro (110-120) but I'm not sure this is what I'm looking for.
I'm trying to get the best upgrade with decent soundstage and imaging, I'm also waiting for the Tinhifi C2s since they were so cheap with a coupon.
I may buy one of those three options if I don't like the C2s, I have some TRI Clarion tips and will probably get a balanced cable
How does this compare with the s12 Pro? Which do you think is better?
This is a tough one.....they have a similar but at the same time unique way of playback.
I would say the S12 Pro might edge the Simgot ever so slightly in bass and in 3D presentation, but it's small and depends on what you listen too.
Hi :) do you plan to do Short Bus mod? I think Michael just pulled out the foam from the black ring nozzle and used oxygen dampers.... saying its an upgrade.

@@akros9333 and what is the difference? Is it noticeable, for better? 😁. Olina SE and tanya filters should work as well right? (Similar grade). Also without the foam those 2 nozzles are basically the same right?

What the Tanya or Oxygen filter do is make the mids and high a little extra smoother.....and give just a little bass....maybe 1.5db......i like the mod. It's works really good

Hello 😊 and did you compare the oxygen/tanya filter also against the original filter? After removing the foam and metal mesh from the nozzle, there is also black filter like a middle layer and I am asking about that one. Did you heard what is the difference between it and the oxygen filter?

Two polar opposites....Yaun Li was master of relaxed and laid back.....EA500 is a detail monster....highly engaiging...but not in a thump your brains way.....it's musical...it's hifi....it's at home playing jazz ....but will also do R&B very capably. It's my new mini Tanchjim Oxygen

Due to your rec I finally got the original heart mirror and I have been listening to it for about a week now and my mind is blown, especially with bass mod. I can crank volume and it never gets sibilant while maintaining its liveliness. Details galore. I love Soulpersona and The Strike with this set. Is EA500 and upgrade?
I don’t have any of the Heartmirrors, but this could be a minor step up since it has two interchangeable nozzles. I love my EA500. It’s a really good price on Linsoul now at $59 while the sale is on. The fit is good as well.

EA500 vs Heyday?
Considering some ppl go from Olina SE to the Wu Zetian Heyday as their upgrade progression, I would think that the Heyday is better but I don’t know the specifics. 😅
At a certain point I wonder if the extra money makes any sense. Maybe double the price for 5% « subjective » gains in quality.
