    It's also very important to look into your diet guys. I have stage 4 endo. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and had 2 laparoscopies done. The endo still came back. For the past 3 months I've changed my diet. No dairy, no gluten, no alcohol reduced red meat, simple carbs and sugars.I also switched to decaf. I now eat lots of food high in protein, vegetables and good fats. The difference has been incredible! The stabbing pains have reduced, my periods now are pain free! Like no painkillers at all. I was very shocked. My periods now are also lighter. Definitely worth trying

      I would love to know a rough idea of your diet please? I have stage 4 endo and the stabbing pains are too much. What would you typically eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? x

    • @tania354
      @tania354 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@nataliemicallef6330 of course. So for breakfast I normally have overnight toasted oats/granola. With berries, seeds (chia, pumpkin or sunflower seeds), coconut yoghurt and almond milk. Sometimes I add nuts. No sugar as the sweetness comes from the berries but I try not to overdo it as I'm trying to wean off of sweet stuff.
      For coffee I have decaf with almond milk. To sweeten I use a tiny bit of Stevia or date syrup
      For lunch, I usually do a packed lunch of beans/chickpeas/lentils with sweetcorn, chopped beetroot, avocado, cucumbers, radishes, seeds gherkins or olives. For more protein I do canned mackerel/sardines/salmon or eggs. I just mix and match the veggies depending on what I have but most times it's from this list.
      Weekends for lunch if I'm home I'll have air fried sweet potato and mushrooms with avocado, eggs and tomato
      For snacks I have nuts with bananas or apples. If I'm craving some crisps Aldi do some nice lentil crisps I have from time to time . Another snack option is hummus and carrots.
      For dinner, I have a salad and meat/fish. Sometimes I'll throw in a sweet potato . e.g I have sauteed kale and cabbage and carrots with grilled chicken thighs. Or I'll throw in some corn on the cob, asparagus, root vegetables in the air fryer and have it with grilled salmon or seafood.
      There are lots of options out there e.g you can try cauliflower rice instead of rice. Aldi have gluten free pasta made with lentils or chickpeas, lots of diary free and gluten free options but I'm trying to reduce processed food so I try to not have gluten free bread that much.
      To make it more sustainable, I started making small changes here and there so I didn't switch my diet overnight.
      Oh also, have you heard of the AIP diet? If not, I suggest you check it out. There's a lady called The Endo Spectrum (Sophie) on Instagram and she did it and her results were incredible. I didn't go that extreme though, I just took out common things that cause inflammation like gluten , dairy, sugars, alcohol and cut down on simple carbs and the difference between my cycles now are night and day. Hope this helps :)

    I don’t have endometriosis but for years I suffered with heavy painful periods. I was told it was normal. I have also suffered 5 miscarriages. It was only after my 5th miscarriage and an amazing hospital team that I found out I had a uterine septum which was causing all of my issues. I wish more women would be taken seriously, we know our bodies and we know when something isn’t right. I have now had surgery and have recovered well. I no longer have painful heavy periods and am very hopeful that I will have a successful pregnancy in the future. Don’t take no for an answer from your doctors!

    This doctor is amazing! never heard a doctor talk like this, she's right! and optimistic, none of these conditions are 'normal' just because they're common, there should be more help, as a woman with fibroids even female doctors just brush these conditions off.

    Demi saying that she wished she had more direction and support after diagnosis is so real. Doctors just kind of leave you with no help and the surgery often doesn’t eliminate the pain or it quickly comes back. You’re basically given this list of options with no real guidance on what to do to try to manage it going forward.
