Thanks Adam for doing this video , it was special when Karl looked at the car for the first time , We have become great mates and buying the car was as much for him as it was for me . i cant wait to see him race it again , and to share the drive with him will be special for me . and thanks as always to everyone for there very kind comments, they are very much appreciated.
Great to see your enthusiasm come over on the film Paul. I believe that if Karl had had a more competitive and funded car, he would have dominated the class. Having said that, there is always something magical about being the underdog who fights for their place.

Touring cars were so exciting back then and incredible to watch. It was more about driver talent than electronics / aerodynamics and flappy paddle gear shifts.
Brilliant video Adam, you can see Karl's mind working overtime with all the memories flooding back, and Paul looks really chuffed with Karl's reaction to seeing his old car. Can't wait to see it on track with the pair of them. Keep up the great work, well done.

12:25 it’s because you then turn from your elbows instead of your shoulders. If your too far back you can only get 1/2 a turn either way before your forearms touch each other, when your closer in you can get nearly 3/4 of a turn each way without taking your hands off the 3&9 positions on the wheel

Adam mate this is fxxxxxg gold to me my first touring car race was aged 8 in 1980 watching John Cleland in an escort at ingleston in Scotland then got hooked and followed the 90s and 00s at knockhill

I'd be pretty sure that this video explains why the value of the road cars has increased so much and is most likely to have added another £50k to current prices. These cars are epic and the history phenomenal.

Paul is unreal like. I'd love to see you do a Paul biography video, like 45 minutes of how he got started and run through what he was doing over the last few decades. Dude probably doesn't want to come across as billy big bollocks but I reckon wed all love to see it.

Karl was some driver in this. I had no idea watching back then as a kid that he was so hampered by budget constraints and had those limitations in the build. You'd never have known sometimes watching him. Always had a soft spot for that livery too, was just a bit different.

Let's be honest. I would imagine this guy can drive a car. All the new cars anyone can get in and go fast. Try it with one of these and you will come unstuck very quickly.
