    Devs need to consider 40fps balanced mode for all games
    Atleast 40 is way better than 30fps and ps5 capable does 40fps no problem

      Both graphic & performance modes are unnecessary piece of crap caused by incompetent developers who don't know how to optimize their games, period. If Square-Enix hired a team that are half as good as those who developed The Last of Us or Horizon Zero Dawn then we won't have to deal with all this bs in 2024. As things stand right now most people gonna have to wait another year to play on PC (the way it's meant to be played)

    I don't really even feel the problem is the PS5 or limitations. But I feel it's devs not using what we now have. Fsr 2.0 or 3.0 would easily fix the blurry looking 60fps. And iv seen plenty of 60fps games that look and run fine on ps5. I just feel devs don't use the tools they have to make games look and preform better. Even if a ps5 pro drops I doubt they would hardly take advantage of it.

Spiderman and other games do well as well. I just feel lots of devs have gotten use to making games run at 30fps . Not to mention we still see lots of games being made for ps4. I wish 30fps mode had an option for motion blur. As there is none and it feels choppy. But on 60fps mode its blurry as heck. It is slightly better than it was originally in the demo but not much. They could drop some other setting to allow resolution to come up. It feels horrible for sure. One tip for 30fps mode that helped me if you are on a monitor switch the response time of the pixels to be slower so that it adds some 'blur' to fill in those 30 fps gaps.
    Sad to see a seemingly amazing game held back by either of its graphical modes... there is no great way to play

      No it does not, it should be able to run at 60 fps with good looking graphics. There is no excuse for this other than lazy devs, even the first game had a better performance mode. Don't drop your standards just cuz the devs were lazy.

    • @everilliem3292
      @everilliem3292 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mbouzubarThere is A LOT more to render in this than VIIR, it's far more demanding, you're crazy if you think otherwise.
      Consider plague tale Requiem, it's 60fps was capped 1080p even when they made a bunch of other compromises, it's graphics mode maxed at 1440p 30fps, but did support 40 with VRR.
      I would say 7 rebirth is certainly on par at times in busier sections though, but overall, does not seem as demanding? (I don't have system requirements, but the fact that rebirth can hit like 4k-1800? Upper limit at 30fps when plague tale doesn't even scare that, leads me to believe that's the case)
      but still performance mode should be WAAYY better and could be improved (heck, just make it not blurry), I feel a 40fps mode is a more realistic compromise or alternative. Enix is renowned for being pretty bad at optimisation, then mix that with unreal engine being pretty bad to optimize also.
      Not likely much will get done to fix it, but fingers crossed.
      Cyberpunk is another example, it's extremely dense, a lot going on, and runs great.
      Rebirth in comparison, is mainly "empty" in this case (for the most part, there is dense locations) no crazy dynamic npc systems or anything, it's likely not very taxing on CPU at all..... Who knows what's chugging their resources.

    Personally 30fps isn’t even an option for me. I played the demo for the first time ever (post patch) on performance mode and thought it looked spectacular. When these tech reviews zoom in on objects in the distance it looks awful, but that’s not actually reality. It also points out something casual gamers might not even notice in the first place. I don’t consider myself casual, but if something looks good to me that’s all I need (I may be a bit biased towards this game in particular since it was a life changing experience for me in 1997) I really think it’s a nitpick. Anyone who isn't naive can spot the difference right away, the zoom in mode just proves there's a huge gap in visual Fidelity. Its the same reason why the trailers for this game don't do it justice in compressed 1080p TH-cam quality. Square admitted to using more expensive assets for this game, bragging about how the game could handle it, clearly it cannot unless u want to play in 1990's framerate. Which must be done if you want beautiful graphics instead of below average. Even the Quality mode dips down quite low some times, making it's visual fidelity comparable to the performance mode on Remake, only at half the framerate

And i don't like to play games with only 30 FPS it feels clunky to me. But i guess that's the things are.

    The prob with 4k/30fps to me is that once the camera is moving the 30fps makes the game look blurry anyway...
    Seriously though, for anybody who only only play games on consoles and expect the most graphically demanding games to run in 4k/60fps, you really should be playing games on PC (obviously this game is only PS5 but it means you would have to wait for it to possibly come to PC).
    Hell, even with PC's it is just now getting more common for the topmost specs to be able to run these graphically high end games at 4k/60fps, So expecting the current gen consoles to do so is quite absurd.

    I just want to say that these problems are probably more noticeable the closer you are to whatever monitor or television screen you're gaming on. For those who prefer the 60 frames but can't stand the graphic down scale, try sitting further away from your screen. For those playing on Quality mode for the 4k graphics and 30 frames, give the game an hour or so of playtime, and your brain will most likely stop noticing it. For those with motion sickness, 60 is the way to go, and for those who don't have that issue, 30 is just fine. Last thoughts on this is our eyes take in information at around 24 to 25 frames per second, so 30 should be more than enough, in theory, at least.

    • @shinramiddlemanager7949
      @shinramiddlemanager7949 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why do people keep insisting on this nonsense about our eyes only seeing so much information? There is clear perceptible night and day difference between 30fps and 60fps. I've played dozens of AAA games at 60fps+ since I last forced myself through a 30fps title (TLOU2 on PS4 Pro in 2020) as 30 just looks choppy and feels less responsive nowadays -- even more since I've upgraded both my TV and Monitor to OLED panels. I cannot go back to the tinny in-built TV speakers or 21 inch screens of my younger years and I cannot go back to 30fps. Also, the graphics are not the problem here. It's the garbage post-processing they've used that makes character models and textures appear far lower res than they actually are.
      Why can't you people say 'I've not an issue with it, but I can see that you do. Hopefully they find a workaround '. Instead it's just a flat refusal that somebody else may experience gaming differently and sandbagging for billion dollar companies too stingy to optimise properly.

    • @TheBlakReaper
      @TheBlakReaper 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@shinramiddlemanager7949 , my brother, I hear you loud and clear. Yes, some may not have an issue with it, but some clearly do. I was just merely trying to provide troubleshooting. However, if you watch live action movies, then you should know those movies are filmed in 24 frames per second unless they're doing a special shot for a slow motion scene.

    • @shinramiddlemanager7949
      @shinramiddlemanager7949 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheBlakReaper 24fps became the standard for cinema because it was deemed the lowest possible you could go before motion between frames could begin to resemble that of a flickbook to the viewer. They aimed for this because film stock back in the days was very expensive to procure, so it made little sense to shoot more frames that necessary.
      It's a misnomer that 24fps, or 30fps, is "the sweet spot" or that we cannot perceive above it and that it therefore should be accepted for the standard for digital graphics as well. The fact so many 16-bit and 32-bit era games ran at 60fps is an indication of that.
      Games aren't cinematic presentations. They are an interactive medium with user input and objecticely benefit from higher framerates to a point (personally I perceive no difference from 120fps onwards).
      Why should we "play for half hour and just get used to 30fps" on a certain title when it's abundantly clear the dev has messed up and implemented poor scaling solution that has left the image unnecessarily and inconsistently blurry?
      It's not like I'm asking for RDR2 @ 60fps on PS4 Base model here. Rebirth doesn't look *that different* from Intergrade and the open world argument falls apart when you perceive the image quality of HFW or GoT on the same hardware and monitor.

      As someone who is new to consoles, the 30 fps mode just seemed unplayable to me. But after witnessing the fidelity of the former title, FF7 Remake, I knew a crisp resolution was a must to appreciate the graphical fidelity Unreal Engine was capable of, well harnessed by the artists and designers. After a few days I got used to the 30 FPS mode, it was the only way to enjoy the game properly, without any cheap effect to make it playable.@@96andr

      Im surprised Square has not look into supporting AMD FSR, or at least adding the popularly requested 120 Hz Fidelity mode. I suspect that this upscaling method is so bad that even the 40 fps fidelity mode would be blurry. But it worked for FF7 Remake, so it could also be a matter that the engine updates and expensive assets are slowing it down. That's why I'm surprised they haven't looked into AMD FSR. Maybe they just do not care as they are riding on the hope of the PS5 Pro and PC release success? I just think they don't care which is why after the backlash, they did nothing to improve the resolution, but told the public they had patched it, as a form of damage control to cover the tracks. I'd say they probably will release another fake patch in near future if they still receive backlash, but probably not since the reviews for the game have done well. @@HAA2k

  • @stephenvanbellinghen933
    @stephenvanbellinghen933 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I guess to double the frame rate they must 1/4th the resolution. I don't understand why they dont have a 120 Hz compatible Fidelity mode for faster monitors. This would put it at a solid 40 FPS and could even go higher for monitors with Variable Refresh Rate. Not to mention, I'm sure even people stuck with 60 Hz displays would still prefer a solid 40 FPS at the cost of some screen tearing and input lag. Albeit that setting won't work on 60 Hz displays, unless Square added a "Balanced" graphics mode. However it seems the only games that have this compromise are allowing it for 120 Hz Fidelity mode, reason being the 40 fps divides evenly into 120 hz allowing no screen tearing by synchronizing to this speed. But it still would allow a good maybe 10% of players to jump up to 40 FPS with graphics almost as sharp as the Quality mode, probably around as sharp as the Performance mode in FF7 Remake. With a benefit of the doubt, perhaps Square cannot even make a mode like this hit 40 FPS without being just as blurry, or they are just pretending this mode does not exist? The performance mode patch that they claimed to release did nothing after all, it was just a few tweaks as a form of damage control so they could tell people they fixed it. It maybe explains why, with the comparison in this video, when he compares to the demo performance, looks to be the aliasing of pixels is the only difference, trying to trick us into thinking the same resolution is sharper when the smoothing of pixels is simply turned off.

    This is a reason that can be argued as to why you shouldnt give gamers multiple options in this regard, unless you are going to give 2 or more great alternatives of one another.
    Had Rebirth just shipped with quality mode, there wouldnt be nearly as much bitching, as people wouldnt have anything to really complain about since they only had graphics mode to compare itself to, and SE could have come up with any # of reasons as to why they didnt implement 60fps mode.

      @flipskaterdave So they're deliberately not improving visuals? Is that what you're saying?
      Hogwarts Legacy was made using UE4 and it looks phenomenal, so if they want consistency, why not make the FF7 trilogy look consistently phenomenal? Why not make all 3 games without graphical issues that shouldn't exist? For a PS4 game, Remake had many graphical issues.....if you're trying to tell me that moving forward, the trilogy will maintain those issues on purpose, how's that a good thing?
      Something tells me that you just don't really care about graphical development. You say it's for consistency, but if Rebirth had really crisp textures, moving foliage etc. I don't think you'd be annoyed that it wasn't consistent.

      Still no proof there is one. The fact Sony lost 10 billion or more is likely had them reconsidering a new console this year. You can’t believe TH-camrs who just make money off rumours either. Look at the ones who were completely wrong about Microsoft and what was being allowed to be third party yet they went on and on about that nonsense like it was the end of Xbox lol

    Yeah this is weird you can't even make put Clouds face its that blurry in Performance mode..
    People defending it saying its coz it big and open compared to Remake but yer Assassin's Creed Odyssey blows it away on console in visual fidelity at 60fps

      You can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 frames per second? I envy you lol

    • @TheBlakReaper
      @TheBlakReaper 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@huzidamasta, I'm kinda the same way too. I can see the camera difference only when the camera turns or moves, and the difference between 30 and 60 look slightly different with how smooth it moves, however, during fight scenes, it's hardly noticeable. I think in all honesty, after an hour playing in 30, your brain will stop noticing the difference.

    • @huzidamasta
      @huzidamasta 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheBlakReaper Well scientifically, the opposite is true. The more your brain is conditioned with one, the more likely it becomes that you'll notice a difference. That's just fact.
      After 30 mins of playing you'll get used to it, but if you then switched over, I'd be gobsmacked if you didn't notice the difference. I'd argue the individual is visually impaired if they couldn't see the obvious difference.
      It goes without saying that it's harder to detect when the camera isn't moving. We're talking about frames here. But regardless, it's hardly relevant when we're talking about a game where the camera's moving most of the time.

    It's unacceptable graphics mode being unplayable
    I've never played a game in graphics mode so bad like this one, it's a slideshow and the graphics are still not amazing...then I switch to performance and I still get random fps drops on some situations and the graphics decay a lot
    It's been 4 years since the Remake and to be fair, it had better graphics and better performance...what happened here?

    This game does not push the limit of the PS5 not even close. FF16 that looked way better speaking about graphics and that game as well didn't push the limits of the PS5. The game that truly gonna push the PS5 limits for real is GTA6 in 2025.

      Ff16 has constant frame drops pretty much everywhere outside of combat. I 100% the game and loved it but it ran like dogshit. These games either need to be optimized better or put on the PC to truly shine. It really hurts the experience getting fps drops to 40/30/20 I mean cmon it's 2024

    If you want high end graphics AND fps, get a gaming PC and wait for the port. The PS5 uses a the equivalent of a 2070. What do you expect?

      Games like HZD, Spider Man, God of War Ragnarök, TLOU 2 and Ghost of Tsushima looks great in 60 FPS mode. I expect better optimization.

    • @playstation719
      @playstation719 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Its not about GPU, 2070 super is equivalent to a PS5 gpu and dont think this GPU is not worth for gaming. Its the devs who make broken games. Its not the machine's fault.
      The last of us, FF7 remake, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Forbidden West, Death Stranding etc are perfect example PS5 can run games pretty well
      Its OPTIMIZATION what matters.
      Not PC with 4080 to run broken games and flex

    • @redhexon1614

      @@fastica the difference is those games only have 1 character your playing with, this game have 3 plus 2 or more on background you can still see them far away during battles. if you combine all of the resources and codes of all those characters in the same scene plus all of the animation for each skills of those 3 characters plus interactions to enemy graphics wise and numbers behind this is really a very heavy game for any system to process. Plus open world game without loading time is a very heavy resources as it will render all of the asset and load all of the objects animations, graphics and its behind the scenes numbers if it will shows on the screen. For example if your playing on low end system like a pc some games will run better in an enclose area like inside the house or a dungeon but worse to a much more open areas. I am not defending the devs but SE looks like behind on the technical stuff compare to western devs. I also read an interview that they struggle in this aspect starting around ps3 era and just catching up until this era. I really like the design of the game were you using mutliple characters, its like you have tekken which you can control multiple characters and combine it to horizon map with 3rd person view.
