I lived in PB in the 80's as a teenager, it was such an incredible time, rents were cheap, life was great. I paid $300 a month for a fully furnished studio just a few blocks from the water close to Cass & Garnet Ave. I worked at a juice bar on Garnet Ave and before that worked at the Jack in the Box on Grand & Mission, which is now a taco bell. So many of my favorite memories of life are during that time period. I LOVE seeing these clips of PB in the 80's, I'm always looking to see if I can find myself in the videos
I grew up in PB from when I was born in 1974 to when I left in 1990. It was always an eclectic area full of families, military, college students, seniors, and beach bums. Those days are long gone sadly. A lot of its character has disappeared.
Lived in Clairemont mostly, but lived going to PB. Passing through there to the Mandarin House in La Jolla was awesome, seeing people having fun was my favorite thing. Hooked on Mandarin House since '78. Any old timers remember Wiley's hobby shop next to the chocolate shell ice cream place? Or PB Honda or Yamaha? Wonder if Kon-Tiki shop is still there...

Air bnb rentals contributed to this.
There's another time capsule at PBMS/PBJH from 1976. My class buried it for the bicentennial.
