I bought one of these two months ago and I love it. I’ve added a few accessories and I do have a No Lo Designs front skid plate that I’m gonna put on it this summer.
I have a 2024 PP Blk Edition. Don't need a third seat when it is just me and the wife. Love the back space when you close the 2nd row. My crate holding my two weens is great plus room for luggage on a road trip. As far as tranny 9 spd vs 10 spd, we aren't at Indy and the 9 is great. If I wanted to go off roading, honestly, I would have purchased a 4 runner. Just as dated and no frills. I love the PP. It works for me. Ton's of space, decent MPG's, nice V6 and NO CVT. Road noise. Its tires buddy. Wife's last two cars were Nissan 370Z and Audi TTS so I can tell you that you feel every thing on the road and hear everything but the radio when you are driving. Talk about Road Noise in a car. Go drive one of those cars and anything on the road would be perfect compared to those 2 seater sports cars. Good review buddy.
I bought a 21 EXL with 18K miles for $28K and It is great. A 100% practical with easy to use technology. Looking for luxury? Got to look somewhere else. Looking cheap maint. and reliability? This is it
How's the legroom for taller folks? Is it the same as the Pilot? If so, long legged people may struggle on long trips. I can't stretch out my left leg in the Pilot and that could become uncomfortable on road trips. Nit picky but it's a deciding factor for vehicle purchases.
For some reason the Sienna blocks the area where one would extend their left leg, it was a long and painful road trip and I hope I don't get that assignment again.
Multiple times you compared the engine to the Pilot. The Pilot received a different drive train as part of its most recent refresh, hence the difference between the two. It is likely the upcoming refresh for the Passport will include the Pilot drivetrain. I have read many comments from people stating the current Passport drivetrain is smoother than the drivetrain in the refreshed Pilot.
It is not unlikely as I already reviewed it it’s a carry over and yes the passport is smoother and I say the same powertrain (engine, yes the passport has a 9 speed auto and pilot is on the 2nd gen 10 speed), platform because it is even if some tweaks 👍
I have looked at Honda's online build site and it does not show any option package or options that offer skid plates for the Passport... please tell me where I can find that because that is one thing I am interested in... I hear that those things will be offered on the redesigned 2025 model... also crawl control and 10-speed auto like on the Pilot.
I'm trying to decide v Between the Mazda CX50 turbo premium plus, Honda crv elite/black edition, or the passport black edition. Thanks for the info. Wife likes the passport the best.
Fun to drive will be the Mazda, the turbo is awesome plus the interior will be more upscale. Honda crv will be the best with mpg and the passport is nice too but overall value Mazda. They pack a lot more premium materials but the tech is a little dated. Congratulations whichever way you go.
@@HawkeyeRidesThe problem is Honda advertises that the Passport can tow 5000 pounds but what they don't tell you is to tow that weight you have to purchase the optional transmission cooler and have it installed, otherwise it can only tow 3500lbs.
That 9 speed transmission is horrible. It has a class action lawsuit on it with Honda and tons of complaints with bad shifting at all mileages. Honda refuses to address it and keeps telling people it meets spec. Some got replacements which were the same or worse. The SOC V6 in the Passport is rock solid and probably the best SUV engine still available. If it were not for that 9 speed transmission I would have bought a Passport this year because its older SOC 6cyl engine is the best and last old school reliable engine out there. In 2025 Passport will likely get the new and not proven DOC V6 and 10 speed trans both designed for EPA not reliability and function. The 10 speed Honda transmission is better but still has a ton of complaints of poor shifting Honda can't fix. The Toyota Crossover transmission does the same thing but worse with the poor shifting. Toyota uses a CVT on its 4cyl/turbo hybrid on other Highlanders and Subaru uses CVT on everything. Nobody makes a real good rock solid transmission anymore and the 6cyl's are all being replaced with hybrids and turbo 4cyl's. The EPA is killing the automobile market. The electronics are getting ridiculous.

Not enough changes to justify switching from the 2022 to the 2024 Passport Trails port.
That is a good point
2025 is supposed to be the redesign
@joeramos8873 that is correct
Agree. No issues with my 2022
Hey Anthony, great review! That i really nice SUV but ultimately I think I think I would go with the Pilot. Hoping all is well with you.
I agree James the Pilot is better and I like having a third row

With Mazda add dash of transmission problems based on past history...
The Mazda's are tight inside.
Hearing black edition with all terrain wheels are better than the trail sport..
It’s a nice vehicle but Honda always leaves room for updates
2024 should have LED turn signals.
