4 years too late, but this is for anyone out there.
It means the hdmi cable from the receiver to the display device does not have enough bandwidth to handle the video format from your source.
You can make it work by going to the receiver's video settings->4k/8k signal format->select your source and set it to standard.
The receiver downgrades the signal to something your cable can handle (atleast I think😊).
However the ultimate solution is to get a cable with higher bandwidth i.e. 8k cable.

I’m now having the same issue with my Denon AVR-S700W INTEGRATED NETWORK AV RECEIVER. It’s been working fine for like 5 yrs. I’m using my denon’s pass through for cable. I select the cable button on the denon remote and I get regular Direct TV.. but all of a sudden I get no video now, nothing, not even sound. I think think the hdmi port on the denon’s pass through isn’t working.

I have same problem with Denon AVR X2700H. Cable tv box connected to any hdmi input port does not suddenly let video thru denon to eArc hdmi output port. Tried with projector and monitor, both say no signal. Tried to connect windows and mac laptops to Denon and no video out... not even Denon menu come out. Hard to do setup after factory reset as Denon's screen says continue on tv...😢 2 year old Denon. Bought most expencive hdmi 8k ultra speed cables 1m long that have eArc. No help...i have only 1 hdmi input and output in use. So not the problem i see people having when using both hdmi outputs at the same time. Latest firmware of 8/2024

I am currently having an issue with my 2600 as well, right now it seems like my hdmi out is not working on either zone main or zone 2, there is no Audio or Video coming from either source, I can not even get it to bring up the setup menu, this thing is less than a year old...and before all this, one of my sources was not handshaking like this video, only difference was, it would bring up video, but with a bunch of colored dots all over the screen, looks like I'll be taking this back in the morning.

I have exactly same problem with my Denon 4700 H purchased recently .I connected my LG UBK 90 4K UHD Blue ray player and it has only sound output no video. But my Optoma HD 52 4k Projector and Sony 4K tv has no issues .Its very daunting task to move everything in and out of the AV rack ( with all the cables)quite a few times just to connect a HDMI cable .After spending $$$$ on Denon.I wonder why a reputed brand like Denon don't have a fix for this issue or any official information related to fix this I have connected my Amazon 4K Cube to media player HDMI port and that's is working fine .Denon please fix this issue

Can’t get Zone 2 monitor to display Xbox consistently. Roku works fine but HDMI cable needs replacing. Zone 1 works great to my Series X on the TV but Zone 2 to projector (movies through Xbox) has been having issues since day 1

If not thing that worked for me
1 if i get to connect the tv tuner with hdmi version 1.4 short cable to the dennon it works
2 if still not working then get a powered hdmi 1:2 cheap spliter and connect to the dennon

Try the receiver's HDMI Diagnostics Tool. You can also use it to test your cables.

I ended up buying the Denon X4700H to replace my older Denon THX AVR and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever done.Every time I turn this thing on something different happens.I’ve had home cinemas Many different AVRs and this one is driving me mad.I turn it on and the Apple TV comes on and my 4K BluRay also comes on.Sometimes I get Dolby Atmos some times Other sound formats and sometimes not. It’s an absolute nightmare.I just watched a video of a guy who’s having the same problems.70 comments of people that are experiencing the same switching conflicts.
I suggest you live with this Denon for a few weeks and see how you feel.I never had these problems with my older more powerful THX Denon. These recent models are a load of junk.

I just got a new Samsung crystal 7 series TV, and it happened to my Denon AVR-888. All HDMI input cant function, but output is normal , because one of my LD player is RCA cable, finally I put my BluRay player directly to the TV set and the sound from TV set optical output to receiver. I couldn't solve the issue as AVR-888 no software upgrade setting. If I use back my old Sony TV set have no such issue.

    FIX.
I had this issue too , and I have 2 outputs setup and many times the screen goes off and it's audio , just like this video .
I sort of found manual fix to this , u just need to change to another source on ur remote and change back to ur desired source, the video comes on alright then ,
Takes about 4 5 secs but it works all ok .
But yes we need the firmware update from denon .
    Hope this helped everyone .

I have the AVR 1513. It worked perfectly for over a year. Now I have the same problem. The video monitor output doesn’t seem to work. It’s not sending signal to projector. Tries output to a TV. Also no output. The inputs work fine directly to TV or projector. Audio on Denon is fine. Did anyone solve this?

Hi I'm here from AVSforums, You did get a reply regarding HDCP compatibility issue, just wondering would taking the Matrix/Switcher out of the chain make any difference as I see no reason for it if you have AVR to do that for you

  • @djphllps
    @djphllps 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Seems to me that the TV tuner doesn't have the right DHCP certification but what you could try and do instead is connect the TV tuner directly to the TV and then just use the enhanced arc option to put the sound back from the TV into the surround.... That is assuming that your projector supports arc

Hello, I am from Argentina, I have the Denon AVR-x3300W. I think I have the same problem. Take the kit for review and they tell me the motherboard needs to be replaced. At the moment I am using to play video through ZONE2, since Zone 1 (main) does not play video, it is seen that it burned. And the audio if it comes out on main. In other words, to use it I must always have both zones on, main for audio and zone 2 for video. But buying a new sintoamplifier is very expensive to repair. Apparently the problem was caused by the digital TV tuner, since the current emitted by the HDMI fluctuates or connects or disconnects it when the equipment is turned on. Cheers

how do you get the audio out with the video? If im running video from zone 2, say from media player input, if i select the main zone to run media player input as well to get the audio through main zone i dont get either video or audio as assigning both main zone and zone 2 to the same input cancels out both. How are you doing it? Really need some help on this one.

I know this UY Vid is a couple years old but I'm having the same issue trying to use a DVDO iScan VP-50 Pro video processor. No issues with my Blu-ray player, 4K DVD, VHS/DVR, Laserdisc or Fire Cube. When I run a plain jane DVD or Laserdisc through the VP-50 and into the Denon AVR-X6500H I get no picture or sound through my projector. Someone said this was a Denon upscaling issue and to turn that off, tried that but no joy.

My DENON AVR-S720W/AVR arc hdmi port suddenly stopped feeding any output after two years.
I thought it was the TV and replaced it 🤷‍♂️. Now I have to buy a new Receiver. These things are not what I expected from DENON and is why I chose to buy it.

    Hi Derek, all
i have pretty much same problem, basically since the moment i have AVR-X2700H (dec2021), i can temporarily fix this issue by factory reset and then it works for approx 14 days . Quite flustrating, works great for anything else, but when it comes to ARC (want to play something from tv apps netflix, spotify, youtube etc... no sound, i have tried all possible audio/ video/ input setting to figure it how to fix that without factory reset, but not success so far. During troubleshooting i went through various setup on the tv and receiver, cable replacement, all)
TV - samsung QLED QE55Q6FNA with ARC (no EARC)

i own the 2600h as my friend and reviewers biged it up. my issues are first i have to keep it on the older firmware as it doesnt work with my xbox one s if i update it when it comes to hdr and 4k.
even with the latest software, and the oldest, going into settings for audio and selecting options in the ref area sometimes kicks hdr off and i end up haveing to select a different hdmi and back again for it to return hdr.
lastly and i feel this is a big miss by denon, it doesnt work with my google plasy player as i cant send over by blue tooth my playlists. instead i have to use heos and creat new playlists. why in this day and age cant it just do both. let me cast via blue tooth my music on my android phone by google or any other player with blue tooth suport?
yes the sou7nd is awsome but its far from the perfect bug free experience and it isnt the exellent everyone says, not till it allws the basic us of bluetooth on a phone and not push heos and sort out the kind of bugs i asumed a 500 pound amp would not have.
part of me withes i tried the sony one but hey too late now.
voice operastions with my harmony work great with it and yeh sound is amazing. but it needs to be a smater device
just a warning all those google play playlists you have get ready to remake them on the dennon amps.
8/10 is a very fair rating as sound on my 2600h is great but the bugs and heos take at least 2 poiunts off. if i was a music lover id be giing this amp a 6/10, luckly im a movie guy so its a 8.. And heos works well when you realise to add a song to a playlist you have to open playlist tell it to play from phone, then make sure you press play now and replace que. then go to the song you want to add and play now. then save plaYLIST. ITS STUPID ITS ANOYING AND BECAUSE IM STUPID IT TOOK ME A FEW WEEKS TO CLICK ON HOW TO DO IT. WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER IF I COULD HAVE JUST PAIRED MY PHONE to the denon amp and played my playlists or songs directly but dennon doesnt let you do that because oftheir badly made heos app. i know theres alot of denon fans out there and yes i never heard a bad review but be warned if like you you want songs from your phone to go directly to the denon amplifiers it wont . At their prices it should.
im saying this for al;l new buyers to be aware as no one else is saying this stuff and truthfully if all people do is tell you the positives denon whos 2600h i like alot is not gona impliment the missing basic features that in 2020 really shouldnt hell 2017 they really shouldnt be missing. its like buying a new sports car with no bluetooth or usb port.

same sort of deal... but.. all was fixed when i upgraded the HDMI cable from the reciever to the tv.. to an 8k one.
the other 4k uhd HDMI cables that i had were only 2.0 the 8K was 2.1 or 2.2 and everything worked fine.
the store i was at didnt have any better quality 4k ones -so i just went with 8k. and fixed all problems.
also because of the inbuilt upgrader in the Denon, you can run cheap HDMI cables from all your devices INTO the denon.. but the only expensive HDMI cable you need is from the Denon to your TV/projector etc.
was driving me mad.. but now everything all works fine.
oh, and HDMI cable needs to be less than 5m in length and if wall mounted running directly from reciever to TV would be best- NOT through a media plate or whatever.
    hope this helps guys :)

Glad I bought the cheaper entry model first, the the s540bt. I have the similar problem, I got a single tho , it just blank out time from time, and say searching for single, hdmi...its bothering because it happens a lot evertday...I checked my HDMI cord , firesrick with my projector they never blanked out that's when I knew it was the denon receiver, I went online and forums, and found out almost all 2018 denon receivers has this HDMI I compatibility issues...So I'm switching to Yamaha. Glad I didn't invest in a more expensive denon receiver first hand...I'll just use this $279 receiver for basement background music!!!!
