Enjoyed the video. After 8-9 years of loving my Onkyo TX-NR609, it's been having HDMI & power-off issues, so looking at my options for a replacement, and Denon is certainly at the top of my list.

hi ImSammy! I currently use z906 as well and thinking about exactly same setup with x2600, my question is about speakers itself, could I damage them if I turn the volume up? I think av may have too much power for them at high volume, what I can do to make them perform well, just for you to know, z906 speakers are just temporary solution, I will buy proper speakers in few months time, propably discounted Monitor Audio Bronze 5 5.1 and svs pb1000 sub, thank you for reply mate!🤗

I currently have a hi-end Yamaha AVR and a 65" Samsung 4K Smart TV. The TV will allow the selection of the AVR and WILL TURN IT ON AUTOMATICALLY using the sound output selection choice. There is a 4-5 second delay as the Yamaha powers up and delivers audio/video. I don't know if the delay is in the AVR or the TV. I can live with the delay annoyance but don't want to leave my comfy chair to turn the AVR on or off - and using the Denon remote would be even more delay than the Yamaha. So my question is this.... Will the Denon 2600 automatically turn on when it is selected by the TV? If so - is the operation more-or-less instantaneous or is the slight delay inevitable?

I am interested in this receiver. Since I use a lot of video devices. Some have hdmi, and some only composite video output. An enigma is bothering me! If it is connected to, for example, the cbl/sat input via hdmi, some device (dbt imilab) that has an hdmi output. Is it possible to connect an analog video device to the composite analog input of the cbl/sat receiver (video and audio), for example, a sat tuner? Does the receiver recognize both signals on the same video input? I read the user manual where there is no explanation for such a connection. Only automatic recognition for audio signal and hdmi (changing the name of the input) is indicated. My question is, is it possible to simultaneously connect two different devices (hdm and analog) to the input under the same name cbl/sat, and does the receiver recognize this automatically? Unless! Is it possible to choose hdmi or analog through the menu setting? Does it at least allow that possibility? If more than one device is started and the other is not used at the same time!? I hope you understand my question! If you have not used such a combination of connections until now. Can you check by putting together such a combination as I describe and let me know what you get at the end in practice!? I would be grateful for your answer.

Great review! Could you please share how did you manage to connect the Z906 satellite speakers and subwoofer? I've got the same Logitech system but planning to upgrade to this Denon or the Sony STR-DN1080 and use the Logitech system with it until I upgrade to better speakers. Also, do you think the Denon or the Sony is better?

    • @ImSammy
      @ImSammy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks :)
I used a subwoofer cable connected from the z906 subwoofer to the Denon receiver's first subwoofer output and connected the satellite speakers directly to Denon receiver.
Having not tested the Sony AV Receiver you mentioned I can't speak to that but it does look like an equally impressive unit, especially having a Google Chromecast built-in. It features many of the same passthrough formats the Denon receiver does so ultimately it will come down to the user experience.

Connect one side of cable to z906 subwoofer via RCA and one side to one of the subwoofer outputs on the Denon receiver.
With the z906 subwoofer switched on you'll select the input that represents the output of the RCA output on the z906 subwoofer.

Hello, thank you for the video. I just bought this and afraid that it might not work out
I’m running all klispch 5.1 speakers. Now I don’t really understand how these things work but all speakers are 8ohms according to the description. Will this receiver work with this set? Or do I need more power.
My second question is if should I use 16 gauge or 18 gauge speaker wires. The shortest is 2ft and and the longest 23ft from the receiver

i own the 2600h as my friend and reviewers biged it up. my issues are first i have to keep it on the older firmware as it doesnt work with my xbox one s if i update it when it comes to hdr and 4k.
even with the latest software, and the oldest, going into settings for audio and selecting options in the ref area sometimes kicks hdr off and i end up haveing to select a different hdmi and back again for it to return hdr.
lastly and i feel this is a big miss by denon, it doesnt work with my google plasy player as i cant send over by blue tooth my playlists. instead i have to use heos and creat new playlists. why in this day and age cant it just do both. let me cast via blue tooth my music on my android phone by google or any other player with blue tooth suport?
yes the sou7nd is awsome but its far from the perfect bug free experience and it isnt the exellent everyone says, not till it allws the basic us of bluetooth on a phone and not push heos and sort out the kind of bugs i asumed a 500 pound amp would not have.
part of me withes i tried the sony one but hey too late now.
voice operastions with my harmony work great with it and yeh sound is amazing. but it needs to be a smater device
just a warning all those google play playlists you have get ready to remake them on the dennon amps.
8/10 is a very fair rating as sound on my 2600h is great but the bugs and heos take at least 2 poiunts off. if i was a music lover id be giing this amp a 6/10, luckly im a movie guy so its a 8.. And heos works well when you realise to add a song to a playlist you have to open playlist tell it to play from phone, then make sure you press play now and replace que. then go to the song you want to add and play now. then save plaYLIST. ITS STUPID ITS ANOYING AND BECAUSE IM STUPID IT TOOK ME A FEW WEEKS TO CLICK ON HOW TO DO IT. WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER IF I COULD HAVE JUST PAIRED MY PHONE to the denon amp and played my playlists or songs directly but dennon doesnt let you do that because oftheir badly made heos app. i know theres alot of denon fans out there and yes i never heard a bad review but be warned if like you you want songs from your phone to go directly to the denon amplifiers it wont . At their prices it should.
im saying this for al;l new buyers to be aware as no one else is saying this stuff and truthfully if all people do is tell you the positives denon whos 2600h i like alot is not gona impliment the missing basic features that in 2020 really shouldnt hell 2017 they really shouldnt be missing. its like buying a new sports car with no bluetooth or usb port.

I just bought this receiver Sunday. Replaced a 15 year old Yamaha. Good unit it was. Too many features really.
This Dennon is true, 95 watts at 7 channels, or you can combine two. It has a very simple layout.
Once I turned on the eq setting, set it to 2 channels for fronts, (only using 5.1), it sounds amazing. It sounds every bit as good as a home theater can on a decent budget. Paired with 75 watt klipsch bookshelf speakers, a nice center, and the SP 100 sub. Oh man. I just need a new tv now! Very happy. I was worried. It is light. Figured light on power to. Lol.
But you can adjust the eq, it does have it hidden. You can adjust distance, speaker level. And you can adjust speaker gains! Individual. So not sure what's not to like. Price? Yeah, I like around 125 ta 150 per channel. But at a true 95, which is hard to get, and the ability to double. Works like a dream. I thought about another for basement!
(,I need to figure out multi room!).
