OMG…I just saw an interview at Ohio State you did on Words of Shakespeare …what PASSION/EXUBERANCE you presented & you’ve carried that right into Words & Pictures…BRAVO!!!BRAVO!!!
Goodness, you have been trawling the archives! Happy you enjoyed hearing a little more about the Words side of Words and Pictures (there's another even longer Words interview if you're interested!!). Thank you for such a wonderful comment - it made my heart sing!
That's great to hear - so happy you're enjoying them. Organic nature is my chief muse, without a question... there's so much to explore down that path. Have fun!
Oh, definitely let the gel plate come out to play! Just make sure you have a big pile of paper ready (cheap printer/copy paper is just fine for experimenting)... once you start, you'll find it's addictive. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment - much appreciated.
Thank you - glad you like the colours... spring is arriving on my craft table even if it's a bit slower outside! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I'm just starting to build the content here on the channel, so there's lots more coming this year...
So happy you enjoyed the fun... and delighted that it's inspired you to get your gelli plate out and play. Hope you also have lots of fun! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
So happy that you found some inspiration here - I hope you have lots of fun playing with the technique. You can also build up extra layers on the prints... there's no need to stop at one!! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Very happy that you love the videos, and that you are discovering and learning new things - always so much fun! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and comment - I'm really happy you enjoyed it... and yes, there's nothing like the magic of water when you're playing with the gel plate!
I’m sooooooo sad!!! I’ve watched all your videos and I need more! I absolutely love your style, you are amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your creativity!
What a lovely comment - I'm thrilled you've enjoyed everything you've watched! I've really only just started building the content here, so I promise there's plenty more to come this year!
Yes gelliprinting is very addictive. Never thought to 'clean' the brayer and gelliplate like that - I'll have to have a go. I'm just looking out of my window at some very old crocosmia seed heads; hmm I think I'll have a go. Thanks for the inspiration.
So happy you're inspired to go and play. And yes, I hope you like the "cleaning" technique... I get some of my favourite prints that way! Thanks so much for stopping by and for taking the time to comment.
Hi… playing with my PaperArtsy Paints on a gel plate has been on my mind to do in recent weeks… thanks for the inspiration to take time for FUN… I appreciate your time, energy & willingness to share your creativity and inspiration! Have a lovely day! 🙂
Great to hear that you're inspired to have some fun with the PaperArtsy paints and the gel plate... make sure you have a big pile of paper waiting! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your lovely comments.
I love this video Alison! It was actually the very first video of yours that I found, and I watched it the night before my mixed media and collage class was going to be working with gel plates. Heading in to class, I bought a bunch of gypsophila and another of Gerber daisies. I had a great time trying out your technique and so did all my classmates because I had enough to share with everyone! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, what a lucky coincidence - I'm so happy to hear that. Sounds like it was a lovely class, thanks to your generous sharing of the flowers. Thank you so much for letting me know!
These are really great❣️. My sweet hubby gave me flowers for love day & now I’ll be saving my baby’s breath. Just beautiful ❣️❣️. And I love paper artsy paint too❣️
These are gorgeous results Alison, I haven’t used my Gel plate in ages, you’ve definitely prompted me to get it out later. Thank you for always inspiring me 😊
I have a pile of gel prints that I have not used yet but strangely want to make some more. I think I can delay that until I get some smaller flowers, I have very little in bloom in the garden right now but I am sure the urge to buy a small bunch of flowers will come soon. Stunning prints Alison, thank you. Sorry that is two in one day again. 😁
Absolutely no need for apologies - you can watch as many videos as you like... and as often as you like. No judgement here!! It's not the best time of year for flowers, certainly, but leaves and grassy stems can be just as much fun to play with on the gel plate. Nature always has something to offer!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures i'll look forward to it! You do a fabulous job… interesting, entertaining and gorgeous artwork! Thank you for taking the time and effort to share with us! 🥰

Just loved your style and simplicity of these gorgeous gelli prints...thanks so much for sharing your technique....very generous of you. Will keep on watching you.❤
Really a lovely set of prints Alison! I love especially the watery effect you wanted to get, and the soft colours that go so well with these delicate Gypsophila flowers... Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it with my morning coffee! ❣xx
Oh, I know... I should never have said five minutes! 10 - 15 is always going to be more like it, and there's already been an extended edition nearly twice that long. But you can never have too much fun, right?!
Yes, it's so lovely having Nature do most of the work! Nothing complicated here, of course - just genuinely a few minutes of fun. So happy you enjoyed it. Thank you for subscribing.
Oh, excellent... I'm always happy when people are inspired to go and have a few minutes of fun of their own! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thank you - I'm always inspired by nature's colour palettes, and my colour palettes shift as the seasons change... I find it very hard to work with autumn colours when it's not autumn, and hard to work without them when it IS autumn!! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment - that's definitely my favourite way to clean the brayer and plate - and you get such great textured papers at the same time!

It was enjoyable watching you have a few moments of fun with the gel plate today. I saw your “short” about watercolor effect with what looks like nice wildflower stamps. Did you are are you, Alison, going to make a video about it? It too is lovely.
True to my word, I've hopped over from Instagram to watch your video and subscribe to your channel. I look forward to following your 'Few Minutes of Fun' series and am resolved to get my gel plate out and have a session soon! 💙
Thank you so much - I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it. For once, I managed to stop myself - partly because I wanted to check that the video had come out okay!! But I've done plenty more since then... Thanks for watching and commenting.
Happy you enjoyed it. It sounds as though it's definitely time to get that gel plate painty! The paper in this video is all just cheap copy paper, so that I can afford to go through reams of it, experimenting. It's not unheard of for me to end up with 100+ prints by the end of a gel plate printing session... it's addictive! If I see something really exciting looking on the plate, or come up with a combination I really like, I might then print onto some slightly nicer, heavier weight paper (as long as I've remembered to have some nearby). But most of these prints will probably get glued into art journals or onto tags as backgrounds, so it's not important that they are on nice paper. It really is worth playing and experimenting with your supplies - different paints behave very differently on the plate; the amount of water you use can radically alter things (eg. those textured prints from the spritz of water); the surface of the paper will change the way the print comes off. And of course that's before you even start using inks instead of paints... My main tip for playing with the gel plate is to be curious and see what you get, rather than aiming for something specific... it's a much less stressful way to work!
Loved this! Such great inspiration. New to your channel and very new to the gel plate. If you print on copy paper, how would you use the prints in card making? Would you just print on cardstock or is there a good way to attach the paper without a ton of wrinkles? I am so excited to try this and see more of your videos! Thank you!
I usually just glue the prints down onto cardstock (not for cards - I don't really do cards - but for journal pages, or to make an accordion book, for instance). I would press the prints under heavy books for a day or two, but then as long as you get good coverage with the glue and smooth it down carefully, there's no reason you'd have lots of wrinkles. Having said that, I'm perfectly happy to have the odd wrinkle - that's extra texture, as far as I'm concerned! Also, I usually have a couple of pieces of higher quality paper nearby in case I see something on the gel plate which I think deserves to go directly onto better paper... but mostly I've found the copy paper works perfectly well for my purposes. If I were doing some really elaborate layered gel printing (you can build many layers and then pick it all up with one final print), then again I would make sure I've got some better paper or card ready for that. Very happy that you enjoyed the video. I've only just started to build content here regularly, so there's lots more to come this year. Thank you for watching and commenting.
So happy you enjoyed it. And yes, the print question! There are always so many... They are great for all sorts of things - tag backgrounds, layers in journal pages (torn fragments or used whole in both cases). Quite often, I'll create a handmade book or accordion album with some of my favourites, so that they stay together as a group. And that might showcase just the prints, or I might use them for journalling or collaging over. I actually created an accordion book with some of my prints from my recent stamp launch. You can get a glimpse of that if you scroll towards the end of the (long) launch blogpost here - blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2024/02/2024-new-paperartsy-products-by-alison.html Hope that's of some help! Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment. Have fun printing!
Love these so much - gorgeous colours, beautiful soft prints. I'm mainly a cardmaker so would love to use backgrounds like these on my cards. A quick question - the bulkiness of the flowers causes the print to be quite wrinkled - does it flatten out once it's dry?
Thank you, so happy you like them. I think it might be a slight trick of the eye at the end because of the dimensional texture in the prints - they're already quite flat. But yes, it's no problem at all to get them completely flat by keeping them under a big pile of books for a couple of days.
So far, these particular ones haven't taken any further steps, but sometimes I use them as backgrounds for journal pages, or for tags, or cut them up for other projects... or even make a whole book out of them, similar to these - th-cam.com/video/lCP5JpwYs0M/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/FMxpWBKZAKs/w-d-xo.html Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and commenting

Hope that's of some help!
Thank you! I'll give it a go!
What will u do with all of ur beautiful gel prints?
So far, these particular ones haven't taken any further steps, but sometimes I use them as backgrounds for journal pages, or for tags, or cut them up for other projects... or even make a whole book out of them, similar to these - th-cam.com/video/lCP5JpwYs0M/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/FMxpWBKZAKs/w-d-xo.html
Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and commenting
