The body seems to really be a 1985 Ford Bronco body given the lines, but the uniform rectangle stacked headlights are more Chevy esq. if someone would make a 3D printed 1985 Bronco grill I think it would look like a good representation of a 1985 Bronco
Just received a normal TRX4 Defender that I ordered 3 months ago. Even though the vehicle is what, 3 years old (?), I still haven’t seen anything that has toppled it. Is Traxxas overpriced in some areas? Yes, but the TRX4 is still the best performing and the best value IMO.
Agreed TRX-4 is best trail truck that can crawl amazing for the price.
and lets face it Vanquish is just bling and prestige.
10.3 is good but not better than TRX-4 good.
Redcat is cheaper and well built cheaper....

@@Bushwackerinpa Absolutely. May get a Vanquish eventually but yeah it doesn’t perform better. The ultimate shelf queen. Axial is cool but I like the 10.2 over the 10.3. Got the 10.2 after the 10.3 came out because I wanted something without all the bells and whistles like the TRX4. Not too impressed with Redcat.

I have just the trail sport and I absolutely love it. It’s modded pretty heavily but it was a straight performer out of the box.
Been watching a while, I'm a personal friend of exocaged, and I just wanted to say I really appreciate the message at the end man. Absolutely love your reviews! You are totally honest and very in depth! Your fanboy comment made me laugh because it's SO true in every hobby! You will always upset someone when you do a true honest review and something isn't so great. I have a TRX-4 and have been watching your upgrades and other videos on them. I'm glad that even though it's an "older rig" design you still keep it current with videos and info! Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to seeing what this Cross RC truck turns out like. May be a decent rig to get my kids into the hobby if it's not crazy expensive!

Francis, nice review - it’ll be interesting to see how it holds up over time. I recall the transmission issues that you (and me and everyone else...) had with the Cross Demon which was disappointing since there was much ti like about that kit. About 2 months ago Cross came out with a new trans (which I believe is the same one in the EMO) and it fits the Demon with no mods and corrects the sloppiness and breakage - so if there are others out there with a broke down Demon sitting on a shelf, it’s about a $40 fix.
I've just purchased my very first crawler and your reviews have been a real help. I've gone for an Ftx fury xtreme as the Traxxus was just too expensive. Thanks and keep your great reviews coming! 👍

Looks very promising was searching for a new build and cross has won it for me the locking axles perfect I have been looking for portal kit and this should be an excellent build when done.
Looks pretty decent. I'd like to see you do a review on the cross rc ut4. I had the demon and fully agree on the transmission. Broke mine first run out using a 30t brushed motor and a nimh battery I had laying around.

Still sticking with my Bronco, just bought Hyrax tires, Beadlocks, LED kit, and Winch. Keep up the amazing vids.
Ok I just realized the winch I have is a CrossRC winch.
For sure, that's what we have too. $250 in basic upgrades though.
@@RCReviewChannel Well, if someone wants to run Hyrax tires and their style beadlocks they'll have to spend the cash regardless. I outfitted my Capra with 6 led lights for $20. And if you want a winch you'll have to buy that as well.

Plus you get a licensed body that looks great. Unlicensed rip-off bodies always look weird in some way. And when you go to sell the trx4 it'll have a much better residual value making it the cheaper vehicle to own. Not to mention parts availability, durability, and engineering.
Your videos are so detailed and a great source of information I just love them. I was wondering if you will ever look at the Cross RC BC8 or the TC6, both these trucks are amazing crawlers and the BC8 might be the ultimate crawler, would love to see a review of the TC6......they're expensive

I’m really interested in this truck I believe I read where they are possibly going to be offering an overdrive for the transmission to overdrive the front wheels or I’m sure someone will come up with portal gears that will allow it as well. A little on the fence on the body it does look like a bronco in a blazer had a child but it’s pretty cool. And yeah the Traxxas bodies are nice but man they are pricey
What do you recommend for a first time crawler? I’m leaning towards the trx4 sport kit. I have basher experience and other tc experience. Just new to crawlers.
Sounds like my story too came from bashing and short course trucks absolutely love the crawlers now the trx4 sport is an awesome rig very stout and capable 👍

Absolutely love my sport!! Done upgrades but have had 0 failures and it just goes about anywhere’s! I would highly recommend it!
You do the best reviews by far . I'm looking for a second crawler for my brother to use when he stops over and my oldest daughter. We like scale . I have the trx4 bronco and a g made sawback and a grn 8 scout . This seems to have alot of upgrades out of the box . There is another one out I forget who makes it that is similar but this one seems much better.
Love your Videos, just good to so see someone so passionate about my favourite "toys". Not sure of you can get these in the US, but I'd like to see what you think about the Absima Sherpa, it's a rebrand of the yikong 4102 pro. The Chassis is shared with Yikong 4101, but has different bumper, inner fenders and an incredible light kit. Has Portals, 2-gear transmission, remotely lockable differentials, CVD's all around, all metal transmission. Sells around 400 bucks in Europe, quite the bargain compared to Traxxas and Axial.

Do a comparison to the Absima Sherpa with portal's, 2speed, locking diffs. Very similar 😀👍
I really hope CrossRC (or another company) steps up the game enough to have traxxas feel the need to build something else! The trx-4 for the price is still hands down the best all round performer IMO out of the box. Not all traxxas products are my favourite, but I think they have an awesome understanding as to what to engineer next and capitalize in each market niché! If something gets close for the price I feel traxxas will come up with something else to edge every body out again and I can’t wait to see what that is!!!
I think you should do a version of the 1985 Bronco paint scheme. Brown and beige, where the brown goes up the B pillar and around the fender flares and rocker. Or the blue and white version of that.

Purchased the kit already and just waiting to see where you go with this kit. The beadlocks on this thing are ridiculous and should be the standard when it comes to all crawler kits.
Are there any differences between the parts included in the RTR vs Kit? Is the RTR truck the same with a radio and servos included?

It looks like they aren't shipping the steel bead locks anymore. All the pics I see are a chrome plastic wheel now.
To me it looks more like a bronco body . I'm a ford guy so I'm really thinking about getting this kit
I think if you put the body of the cross beside a Traxxas bronco you will see more similarities between the two. The unlicensed grill of the emo does look more like a GM style grill but the body looks like a bronco to me.
Would the traxxas blazer body fit?

I know different truck but i have to traxxas TRX-4 sport have you or anyone ever broke the spur gear on the trans just wandering because i see it is plastic i was just wanting to know that if i should replace the spur gear before it breaks
No sir leave it it won't break i run brushless power thru mine for almost a year no issues. Servo and front axle shafts are the only issues I've ever had with it
What kind of power would loose or gain if i used non portal Axel's on it do you think because i like the portals but it's weird to think it's always going backwards ?
@@dillonbesky6196 not sure about the power difference but you would lose ground clearance for sure 🤯 I know they have a portal delete kit but I've only seen scale builders guild use them
Shoot out with a TRX-4 Brono with a Lexan sport body would be a more equal comparison.
