I have the Powermatic 2 and I made a hopper for it that I can fit enough tobacco in it to do a carton of cigarettes.

I've been using 2plus for years now. I can believe nobody has thought of making their own hopper. I use a large empty Q tip plastic container. I cut it to size and taped it on the machine. It holds more than a pick of tobacco and its real easy to get your hand in and push the tobacco down. Wouldn't do it any other way. I did that my first day haha.

My powermatic 2 did come with a small removable hopper not very big but I can put enough tobacco in it to roll 15 cigarettes without reloading.I’ve had my Powermatic 2 for over two years and I love it never any problems. But I will buy the Powermatic three if I ever need to replace my two, it looks like an awesome cigarette rolling machine

the 3 plus is actually going for only $200 now on amazon with prime free same day shipping as well. pretty sweet. I really wanted one because of the consistency like you said but it wasn't in the budget and went with the 4 instead for $60.

You're comparing an automatic $220 machine to a little manual one? Tried them both and can make cigarettes TONS faster and easier with the III - no comparison. But to each his own... thanks for the video.

Powermatic 3+ is King. May be larger, but with the speed and time you save. Let me see you roll 30 in 4 minutes with the #4 model. Will never go back as long as they are available....thx for the video.

I have 2 powermatic 2 plus that are amazing. Bought a Powermatic 3 plus and have the time it wouldn’t feed and when it did they were too tight. Sent it back.

You have to stay on top of how moist the tobacco is when you use the 3 if the tobacco is too dry the 3 grinds the tobacco in to a fine powder causing the cigarette to be to dense to pull. Get a moisture meter for 10$ and make sure the tobacco is anywhere between 40-60% on the meter and that solved the issue for me

That is cause you where using to moist and to long of a cut of tobacco. I have 24,000 cigs made in my PM3 and I figured out that in the first 500 cigs.

Come on now, yes the powermatic 3 is bigger than the 4 but who the hell would reconsider it due to the size of their house? It's not a big screen TV, we're talking about a cigarette machine here.

I can't understand why anyone would buy a powermatic 4 - when it does LESS than a powermatic 3, and is almost the same cost. Like why would powermatic waste their funding in production costs on this ? Like a failed design they try and promote to blow out inventory.

Pm3 is like the Cadillac of ciggartte machines just put tobacco in and a tube on hit start I can roll a carton in 40mins to a hour

Nope I’ll stick with my PM 3 I can roll a carton of cigarettes in about 25-30 minutes....I can get enough tobacco in my hopper for about 20 cigarettes or so...slap my filter on and press the button...I’ve had it a little over 2 years and have never had any problems with my 3

Why doesn't my Powermatic for not have a shut up button you know on and off and my cigarette tubes won't stay on and now the now the black plunger that comes in and out if barely comes out and barely goes in you can't put an eraser on it but it goes a little out and nothing in hardly

I can't use shag (cigarette cut) tobacco with the Powermatic III and that is what I prefer: D&R Three Sails tobacco. I bought the III and it doesn't work with fine tobacco.
I loved the 2 or 3 Powermatic II machines that I've had over the years but I bought a Powermatic II+ a couple years ago to have around when my last II died and it went to crap after a few weeks. I figured it was a one-off dud but another one I bought is pretty crappy right off the bat. The Powermatic II+ has a weak motor and some plastic part inside it appears to crack and make clicking noises. The II+ is WAY worse than the II. The II was great.
Can anyone tell me if this 4 can roll shag tobacco? I spent like $350 for the Powermatic III when it first came out and couldn't use it.
People who sell cigarette making machines should advertise the ones that can use fine tobacco. I can't be the only one who needs that.

How wet was the tobacco you use? Like did you dry out the tobacco a little bit before trying to use it? I buy peter stokkebye & it usually is fairly moist (shag)...I'm wondering if I can just let the tobacco dry a lil bit before using and remoisturize the ciggs afterwards or would that be a waste of time with the #3?

@@jminkvihubyb I think there are at least 2 versions of the Powermatic III. Others tell me that shag works with the newer ones. I bought the Powermatic 4 last month and it is absolutely fantastic! Best machine I've ever had. The motor is much more powerful and the throw arm is longer - squeezing the tobacco more tightly that goes into the tube. The number of times I've made a bad cigarette with it I can probably count on one hand. I make about 2 packs per day and have had it for about over a month now.
The version of the III I have will not work with large cut or shag cut tobaccos. It even says so on stickers on it and in the supplied manual. And it is correct about the shag. Just won't work with the one I have. Has nothing to do with the moistness - although moist would probably be better I would think. The shag goes into the tube too loosely - falls right back out.
I couldn't recommend the 4 more. MUCH better than any of the others - or any other I've ever come across.

The hopper doesn’t matter, you still have to stuff it by hand or should I say, by fingers. The PM 4 doesn’t have an on/off switch, you literally have to unplug it (or connect it to a surge strip with a power button (seriously??? Couldn’t add a power switch for a buck or 2? The PM4 is nothing but a motorized version of the PM mini… Why don’t you compare that PM4 to the mini… The mini is sooooo much lighter and slightly smaller and only cost $20… By your logic the mini is the hand down winner!!!

Why would I care about the size and weight ? Its an inch smaller. I do not live in a refrigerator.
In what way is this better than a powermatic 3 ? Its $200 not $300.
A powermatic 4 is a powermatic 2 with a free plastic hopper I hot glue out of scrap material.
