i got the cashmere premium pullover last year from Mango. I got it, cause it was a nice baby blue. But it was the poorest cashmere pullover i ever got! I brought the pullover to charity after wearing 3 times. It was the first item i ever got at Mango - and it was the last item i ever bought there . I stick with my cashmere from FTC.

Walked into a Mango store for the first time 2 weeks ago and the clothes weren’t made very well. It was like shopping at forever 21 or H&M. No thanks. Zara is in the same category.
Yes, I have nothing against high street fashion, but there's nothing chic about a shirt falling apart at the seams after a single wash 🤭
If these are supposed to be classic pieces that you wear for a long time, Mango is definitely not your destination in my opinion.. Perhaps that's why they kept being referred to as "fashion items".
I wouldn’t even wear them as fashion items. There are other brands that make better clothing, last a long time and also have fashion items. I prefer brands such as COS, Massimu Dutti, WHBM, Banana Republic, J Crew and Ann Taylor. At least purchasing those brands you get some quality and trendy pieces too. Even Abercrombie is better than Mango.
@pink_sparrow_1373 I think cos was just h&m with hiked up prices. I do like their selection of merino sweaters, but more complex items like blouses and blazers always have weird cuts, maybe I'm just unlucky. At that pricerange there are some sustainable brans like "armedangels" and "dedicated" that offer either elevated or fun basics, though their selection is way smaller and they don't make new designs as often.
I haven't visited a Mango store, but looking at their website tells me that it is much too close to fast fashion for me. I have learned that spending just a bit more can make a big difference in how well a piece of clothing will work for me. Mango is selling a sweater that looks like one I bought from Lands' End. The LE brand is 100% cotton, and Mango's is all synthetic. I paid less for my cotton sweater on sale than the one on the Mango site. I've hear many people say that Mango products aren't worth even the lowest prices.
Tartan/plaid skirts are gaining in popularity this autumn/winter season, probably because they’re classic and classic style is actually trending, for a change. I love that!
They're nice, aren't they? And many of them come in a knee-length or even shorter (good for us shorties!)
My favorite piece is the light pink cashmere turtleneck. I really like the color and when it's cold outside the turtleneck is perfect for keeping your neck warm. The second favorite piece is the beautiful single buttoned black wool coat--that is stunning and never goes out of style. My least favorite piece is the Channel cardigan. Although I like the style, I am not a fan of acrylic materials as I feel too hot in them. I don't do well with synthetic materials. J Crew has a similar cardigan style in 100% heavy cotton right now in many color ways, which I think is a better buy given the natural material and it's on sale for about the same price.

Years ago I had a terrible experience with Mango, no size chart (US website), no size inclusivity (UK L/US M, was the max), and no returns! I tried again recently and got two skirts I like, a pleated, knit black mini and a plaid midi, both are better quality than I expected. They do have a size chart now for the US, and some items in XL for those that need it. The average American woman is a US size 16, so XL is essential for this market, the world’s largest for apparel, by far. Foreign brands won’t succeed here until they provide sizes for this reality. We are not all teenagers, and in fact, itI’m a size 8-10, but can empathize with those who need larger sizes.

If this video is not sponsored, then Mango is really the benefactor. It comes from superior design and style. I took a modeling class when I was younger, the teacher recommended us to buy a white wool cost. It is so classy. You can't beat white. I really like Mangos version.

Beautiful selection of Mango's winter collection. My husband bought his aviator jacket when he started taking flying lessons about 30 years ago. It is quite a heavy jacket. I do have a similar "lady" black cardigan. Perhaps getting a red belt might add some pizazz. The one trend that I haven't embraced is the leather trousers and/or skirts. Though I do have a leather coat from 20 years ago that I still wear. You looked lovely in your outfit today. Thanks Marie-Anne.

I’ve had mixed results with some brands, but judging from the comments I’m not sure I’d try Mango. I love Marie Anne’s taste and style, and I take a lot of inspiration from her videos. But “top selling” does not equate to “top quality.” I am willing to spend a bit more (or sometimes way less; I’ve found some amazing pieces at thrift and consignment stores) for better quality garments.
That is fine Elizabeth and exactly right - there are very many of my French Chic Ladies who are on tight budgets and I like to be able to do videos for them as well as doing videos on brands that cost more and yes thrifting isa great way to find older quality garments at great prices 😃

I enjoy Mango and find quality decent. I’ve never purchased online from USA but stores in Spain are very nice. I’m surprised at the negative comments. I wouldn’t buy something I want to last for rest of my life at Mango, but I have only purchased a couple pieces in my life that I needed to last a long time. I discovered Mango in Malaga Spain and continue to shop there. Thanks for video!

I am in my late seventies plus a classic dresser and have sewn for many years (do not do it for an income) and though appreciate quality, do agree with you as 'do not want something to last for the rest of my life' plus agree with Marie Anne about 'treating your clothing with respect'. That being said; in to day's world seeing what is out there as 'top of the line' I feel many are influenced by a combination of label and slick marketing which IMO sadly doesn't always guaranty what it should be.

I did saw that jacket and instantly tought about Toteme jacket. Even tho Mango one is more of hairs than shearling, but I would rather buy that than spend 2,5k for Toteme.
I have a faux shearling, faux leather black Ralph Lauren motto jacket I thrifted a couple of years ago. It is so warm and I love the vibe.
Love that navy blue cardigan. But I saw it was made in nylon (!) I thought it was made in a better (natural) quality, where my skin can breathe 😅

The long coat and dress are beautiful. I guess we are reliving 80s America with the aviator jackets and leather pants/skirts, except all of them were real leather back then. I can understand why people younger than I am want to bring them back..they were cool, after all. Now, I would look like I still have clothes in my closet from the 80s and look older than I really am. 😂

@@MarieAnneLecoeur No, but fashion trends do. The aviator jacket and leather apparel fashion trends have come and gone a couple of times here in the US. The 1986 Top Gun movie and the 80s Indiana Jones movies triggered the 80s aviator jacket fashion trend which died out, and the 2022 Top Gun movie (which was popular in France) has revived this fashion trend.
One of the pictures of the shearling jacket is of a woman who seems to have paired it with the lightest, most summery of sandals? Seriously?!

My husband Gave me a shearling “type” coat A couple of years ago for Christmas and it is gorgeous. But it is way too hot for California. Sometimes it does get really cold at night, so if we go out at night and it is very cold I wear it. We do not have a mango store in my area and I have never seen one. I do love the jacket you were wearing. It is very Chanel looking and I love Chanel although I would probably not buy one because they’re too pricey. ❤TY.

I think I bought one thing from Mange a while ago. After this video, I will look again. I recall Justine LeConte talking about fast fashion a while ago. I have not bought much from Mango or Zara, but I like some of the pieces you showed and will have a look. I am curious to know what you think of Ann Fontaine. I love her designs, but I do not travel in circles anymore where her line has a good ROI. What drew me to her was how she started with the white shirt and did her own pinwork in Paris.
In making videos I always have to think about the totality of my audience Morgan and make sure that I give information for people across many price points. It is also very possible to turn fast fashion slow by picking the best quality pieces and looking after them. Yes, there are other issues as well but for those who can only afford lower price brands there is literally no choice. I will be featuring French Brands as well at some point in these videos - I will take a look at Ann Fontaine 😃
