Alabama Boss Unboxes a Rare Piece of Korean War History

  • A never-before-opened, vacuum-sealed Air Force sleeping bag from 1952.
After seeing another in a video on TH-cam, we tracked one down on eBay and won the bid. Is it comfortable? Does it smell terrible? Would he use it for camping? Alabama Boss weighs in.

Boss I'm big fan of the channel. Marine veteran and single dad. My little boy saw the video and was blown away by how good that 65 year old bag was and now has me searching for one. I saw the price so thanks for that brother. Lol

I use to fly B-52 Bombers years ago and I had one of those sleeping bags that I took with me when I knew I had a long flight coming up, I carried it in a duffel bag along with a parka and other stuff I might need. That SOB got hot if you zipped it all the way up. On a long flight over the Pacific or Arctic ocean I would fly for 6 hours and let the copilot fly for 6 hours. What I would do was crawl in the sleeping bag and sleep or stretch out. I still have the parka tucked away somewhere out in the garage. I'm an old Alabama boy who retired here in Texas and I love your TH-cam channel because it reminds me of old friends and home, thank you.

I’m a sucker for old stuff from past wars that we fought. That sleeping bag is one of the best things you could get from that time. It lasts pretty much forever and you’ll never be cold when you use it. I love it

Guess I'm too late, but I've been looking for just this bag.
Still in the Army, and have learned what all these new kids havent;that the old gear is best! This bag packs down real small, doesnt weigh any more than a current sleep system and performs better -for my needs currently anyway.

Looks like the same type of sleeping bag I was issued in the 70's and 80's. However that one is packed better then the way the newer bags for army aviation where, vacuum packed with a bolt through them.
