I wish the public in canada and the states got along like our military units do. Canadian living in toronto my sister has a boyfriend from new york and we are way more alike than different thats for sure. Its comforting knowing we have america on our side cause we dont have the numbers in man power like them. We have the heart and gritt to keep up but man power in numbers is insane when they are trained to move like a well oiled machine. Together the two countries will never loose

I am a former pilot/owner and I luv this stuff ... as a contractor to DND I miss the commeraderie and professionalism of the team ... I was the EA to 'SWILL', the PM for the reconstruction of an orig. F-86 Snowbird (Vintage Wings) and enjoyed every minute of it ...

Supposedly an upgrade is coming for over 80 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters to replace the aged out CF-18 which should be sporting Collector Plates… yup it is that old. They are not even Super Hornets.

Just because they're old doesn't mean they're outdated; the weapons will essentially be the same on the F-35 F-22
The CF-18s with the new AN/APG-79 radar can fire AIM-120D AMRAAM long range weapons and38 AIM-9X Sidewinder IR missiles ,CF-18s that can fire the latest and greatest long range air-to-air missiles. Yes, it's an old jet; it doesn't matter with modern weapons. They acquire new jets not because they're obsolete, but because the maintenance costs are too high and new parts are unavailable, necessitating self-manufacture.

Politically held up by Trudeau., the F35 is very late to our acquisition purchases. A shame really. But the F18 legacy planes still have a sting, as long as they have updated communication and avionics upgrades, this dual engine design will suffice until we get our political f35s in order. :)

The CF-18 has become the modern Tutor Jet being severely outdated and useful at airshows. The F-35 is not going to be the answer due to all of it's issues and there isn't going to be a 6th gen fighter for years even decades and if there finally is will be so expensive Canada will only be able to afford 1 or 2. Russia has nullified stealth with it's modern radars and electronic warfare platforms and has exposed the myth of Western military dominance except when NATO invades a third World country which it's know for.

Amazing, everything you've written is incorrect. Even if you look at it from a low level logical thought process, if Russia has made stealth aircraft obsolete with its radars(which are 1-2 generations behind modern American AESA radars) then why are they pursuing expensive new stealth fighter programs? There is no myth of western military dominance, it's just factual. Overwhelming air and naval power combined with a competent and well equipped ground force.

Blacks in Canada are about 2 %; so if you leave out the racist nonsense, it is a low bar. Stop the horseshit, and get the best, with the best qualifications for the job, despite your melanin count demands. MLK, a Christian pastor, was dead on with his wish. :)
