@@SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony all good here mate thanks , I don’t think wales is fishing any better, especially up this way , or where casters fishes either 😂👍👍🤠
Crikey it was quite wasnt it. The water had no sound to it or anything. That was 100% a baby dover sole and I've never seen one that small. A nice little codling to round off the session. Tight lines Tony 😊
Hello mate , the sea was almost silent mate even on high water so wierd the only rip was for about 20 minutes just after high other wise nothing , that baby dover ive never seen one so small lol . Thanks mate take care
That's persevering in bitter cold there, Tony. Decades ago I used to fish . The power station sea wall, but security were finicky with the risk of being trapped by the rising tide. Some big ragworm used to be collected off the top of the concrete outfall and chatted with the guys all suited in disposable suits and gloves down in a gully. They have to take samples into the laboratory for tests. Never forget the smell of the steam and water coming out of the reactors and the outfall. A word of note with the day visiting officer revealed intake water passes through a multitude of screens and filters and they supposed to return all trapped fish in buckets and deposit them back to the shoreline but it scarcely happened 😢. 😢😮
hiya mate , how times have changed , they are still taking samples and stuff even now chap , they have massive cameras all around the place now watching everything even us fishermen , i know a lot of the security chaps and they keep an eye on us when we are fishing on the reefs etc which is good , i dont fish around the outfall any more i like to fish around shurton side , a lot of things still go on at that site which they wont talk about , the new water inlets etc for the new one is much more fish freindly , thanks mate take care chap
Great video Tony love following your adventures on the Somerset coast from here in New Zealand. Emigrated here from Somerset about 10 years ago. Used to live in cannington and fished at Shurton and Hinkley Point now and again. Say hello to my old mate John 'Curly' Hughes in Somerset Angling (if he's still there)
Hi colin , thanks mate i would love to get out there more mate but im so busy . I will be down shurton over the next few weeks i will show you around in the video just to refresh your memory mate i do love it over there colin , thanks for watching mate i will mention you to curley next weekend when im in there , take care mate 😊
Ahh mate nice one , there is a few about at the minute , it was flat as you like no rip no nothing on paper no good for fishing , just goes to show mate you dont need big raging tides to catch cod , good luck on your next session looks like friday is the only day worth fishing , all the best mate
@SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony agreed. I think they are few and far between atm (I suspect I was only person of 8 that caught). Couldn't believe the tide - on paper, a big tide, but it flowed up and down without creating any waves. Unique, in my experience. Yes, tomorrow before weather comes in is doable. I need to retire to get the opportunities I want though😆
Hello linc , thanks mate its hard going at the moment chap i think i might go whiting bashing next week 😅😅 thanks lincoln take it easy chap see you on the beach somewhere
