I disagree with Shaykh Hisham wrt Duaa “Making Duaa”. As much as I love his talks, I don’t see the expression “making Duaa” as bad or not connecting to Allah. We need to make an effort to get closer to Allah, it doesn’t come easily, we need to work on our ibada. Making Duaa, Asking Allah, praying, performing my Salat, are expressions I find perfectly Ok. I don’t take everything I hear as 💯 %, I use my thinking as well as other Sholars opinions, then decide. The most important thing for me is intention, the sincerity and the effort I put in when asking Allah.
I didn’t watch that part where he has an issue with saying “making dua” lol but shaykh is very careful/fixated in the playing of words. He has a good command of English and Arabic mashallah. But yes we don’t have to completely agree with little things scholars focus on and we have a right to ask questions and conversate in a respectful way like you did sister:)
