Personally I love the headstock design. I really like the idea of the strings having the straighter pull going through the nut. Their T-style with the P-90 at the neck, and the "spade" headless travel guitar also deserve a closer look. After checking out their website my biggest issue is which one to buy ?
I like the wide binding because it’s something new for Guitar design / aesthetics, I like the shape of guitar on stage from a distance… also it’s angled/sculpted for more comfort… and with a cool shaped 3 x 3 headstock on a strat style body, which is unique. $800 for a quality Korean made guitar, coil splits, Floyd Rose style locking tremolo, including a case… it’s a great value
I love it. It’s just unconventional enough to not be off putting. It’s really beautiful. It sounds really great! There’s a certain softness to it. It’d be a really cool smooth jazz guitar. I’m going to look into it! Great video, Max!
I’ve always liked these guitars. I lived out in Hermosa Beach for a few years where the company is located. Like a few other people, I’m not sure I love that wide faux binding but it’s not a deal breaker.
I love your your channel bro! The only thing is sometimes you never say the price or you don't show the back of the guitar this time you said the price but you didn't show the back of the guitar keep up the good work brother look forward to seeing more
Not sure how I feel about such a wide binding, but it is eye catching, I'll give them that! And most important thing anyway, it sounds great and looks like it plays great as well - looks like your fingers are moving effortlessly over the fretboard
Cool video Max! I wish I had your job and could try out guitars and give my opinion on them, I just wanna shred all day and pay my bills that’s paradise! I like the guitar but I feel it’s not as “original” as you may have mentioned. Schecter has been doing these 3 a side headstock, super Strat guitars with flame top and Floyd Rose for a long time. I used to own a Schecter Banshee Extreme that looked exactly the same as this other than the wood carve binding. It’s kind of funny because you even mentioned Schecter earlier in the video and then immediately after said you like how this guitar seems to be doing it’s own thing unlike most other new guitars you come across now days. I understand it isn’t easy nowadays to try to create new and unique guitar designs that will also appeal to a lot of players while not infringing on another company’s trademarks and designs. Love your videos man! Oh hey if you ever want to donate an electric guitar to someone who loves to Rock and can’t afford a guitar please hit me up!
1st of all I wish could shred like you!. That guitar looks great and the headstock is fine with me. All the other features seem to perform well. Nice vid bro!
Since you mentioned the headstock, I own a Carvin AE-185 thinline electric which like a Tele thinline but with a 3-on-a-side headstock. Unconventionsl, yes, but I love it that way!
Great head stock great look. You play so well everything sounds good so your comments are critical. I have vintage American and modern Chinese an Korean. Bootlegger very tempting. Thanks
My strat has the same configuration. With switches to split the coils instead of a blade style switch. Almost every tone under the sun. Although my strat isn't as fancy
I've always liked the simplicity and how Gibson sets their strings, I really don't care for fenders headstock and I don't care for string trees I think you're getting the best of two worlds fantastic and headstock and a fantastic body what's good features. Thank you for your review it was great. The Artful Dodger
Nice guitar, sounds good, and looks well made. I like the Snakehead design of the headstock for straight string pull - a sign of thoughtful engineering. I don't know if it would look bad to carry over the wide white binding to the headstock or not. It might tie everything together or just look silly.
Having owned a Brian Moore guitar since 2002, I am used to that type of headstock on this body shape. It was kind of jarring when I 1st learned about that manufacturer, but I was really into playing that guitar for the first 10 years I owned it.
That's a really pretty guitar, and the headstock as well, at least on camera. I like that it's a straight pull on the strings, not a gibson style wonky pull, but it really doesn't matter since it has a locking nut. If that floyd rose is of good quality, this is probably a great guitar!.
Seems to be a great guitar really and actually different from others with a great variety of configuration and sounds...really interesting...well done Max...you always show us interesting things and beautiful guitars 👍👍👍
Sounds great and looks good. I like the head stock. I like the look of the whole guitar. You can tell they put some effort into all of the design instead of just one specific area. 👍🤙
I think that you may have sold me on the Schecter Explorer E1 FR S special with the quilted purple burst, ebony frets sustainianic neck pickup and the Apocalypse 1V bridge pickup. Floyd Rose double locking tremolo, thin C with the ultra access neck heel. Or the Wolf WLP 2020 RED BURST LES PAUL for the money. Either way Max at least you narrowed down to at least two guitars that I have to pick from! Although kudos to you brother for making anything that you do play, sound great!
I have a custom built guitar made by a company called Bootleg. John Hil I believe is the builder ( maybe it's Hall instead of Hill...I don't remember ) . Anyway at first I thought that was the company you were referring to. I really like that guitar though...even the thick binding and it sounds great. Maybe it's the guy playing it but it sounds fantastic.
Wow, I like it. Compares nicely with ESP and Schecter in this price class without trying so much to copy their looks. Their headless model is very nice too.
Great review of a guitar and cimpany that deserve recognition. .. On the headstock. it's design with no pull string spacing is great.. but that doesn't matter if you lock the strings... look wise doesn't seem to match the body.. but it wouldn't be a show stopper in buying it.
nice fingerboard. PRS headstock for straighter string pull. After 40+ years playing, I don't notice neck profiles too much any more. You learn to adapt to whatever somebody puts in your hands.
MY COMMENT ON THE HEADSTOCK, ABSOLUTELY MY FAV TYPE AND YEA ON A S,STYLE BODY THEY PULLED IT OFF EXCELENTLY.. AND SEEING THIS GUITAR AND REALLY HEARING IT(MAX, AWESOME VIDEO AND LOVE YOUR PLAYING) I SIMPLY FELL IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT WITH IT. I KNOW ABOUT BOOTLEGGER GUITARS AND YEP THEY DO NEW,DIFFERENT AND I LOVE THAT IN A GUITAR COMPANY AS FAR AS DESIGNS GO THEY DO IT VERY WELL. THIS ONE TOO WITH CASE INCLUDED IN $800.00 PRICE RANGE I MIGHT TRY TO GET ONE IN A COUPLE MONTHS. KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDS AND IF I REMEMBER AS IVE BEEN VERY BUSY MOVED TO NASHVILLE TN ECT BUT NOW IMA CHECKING INTO ANY/ALL LEARNING/PLAYING/TEACHING VIDEO'S THAT YOU HAVE AND IM GOING TO GET ON YOUR PATREON PAGE TOO. ✌️ LOVE N 🎸 24/7 signed GUITAR WIZARD
I guess I never gave the 3x3 headstock a second look, because I've had a Schecter with that configuration for several years now. It's a SGR 006 model from 2012. Liked the video though. William C. central Indiana.
I really like this guitar design. It looks great. I have actually been interested in the Spade design and have been looking at the Bootlegger company for a few months now. I'm quite impressed with them. Unfortunately being in Canada the price goes up a fair bit due to the exchange rate and duty fees.
THAT NECK PICKUP TONE! Beautiful look! Is this "one guitar to rule them all'? If I had this guitar I might be able to sell all the others except for my Gretsch…. and my semi hollow P90… and my...
I like the curvy body despite the thicker looking binding. One reason I like strats. I don't like the 3+3 tuning keys, I prefer inline. Other than that, I like it and it immediately screamed Schecter to me. I also like the regular C shaped neck. I'm not crazy about the heel joint. I feel it needs to be thinner, going from the looks. If I was looking to buy this type of guitar I might get Schecter with the purple colorshift color as it also has neck set which looks like neck thru construction. I'm not crazy about Schecter's active coils though and prefer non-active ones.
Sounds good never saw this brand before today! Wouldn't mind trying one out before I bought it though. As far as the head stock goes I was never a big fan of that style on a super strat but it wouldn't be a factor in buying it. I do love the blade pup in the middle, I have swapped out all my single coils to single coil size humbuckers in my guitars that came with single coils.
Hi maxwell i do like the matching book style headstock very much, i wanted to tell you that after i saw your video with the 3 dual blade single coil sized humbuckers you bought from ebay, i got the same ones and built a parts caster with them .it also has a toggle for master splitting but also has a toggle for neck on tele or all on configuration.Ill send a pic to your facebook. love your videos and ive met your brother in law great guy LOL.
@@GuitarMAXMusic I have a HM-5V in Blood Splattered and a HM-20 Black with Red binding, both from the 80's and a custom built based on that body shape. 🤘☮️💜😊
Guitar look good and pickups are set really good. However, you you've not mentioned fret size, rounded edges and string gauge. Yet is it pre set already out of box, or it needs any additional set ups?? I do understand that everybody have actions/theirs strings height but what is it out of box?? Thanks!!
Like the guitar over all. Headstock is great with straight pulls on the strings but kinda wasted since it has a locking nut. Bridge and neck pickup sounded great. Middle pickup however sounded thin and nasal and muddy. Nice review max 🎸👍
It resembles a Schecter hellraiser. Very similar in body shape and head stock design, Tuners are the same. Floyd rose design bridge, Only main difference is the pickup configuration.
For that price, just get a Korean Schecter or Mexican Charvel Pro Mod Series. Waaaaay better specs and they come with a headstock that actually fits a Superstrat aesthetically.
Truthfully it just seems like another superstrat with some different binding. Nothing wrong with that but it's not really unique in any way. The middle pickup sounded super silent but I believe you like to have it lowered which would explain it.
Nice looking, nice sounding guitar. Not much out there about them. Read a couple of reviews about fret issues. Very uneven frets. Reviewer deemed it almost unplayable. Thoughts?
Have a question. I recently purchased a Royal Blue. When the pickup selector is in the mid position (I believe this engages all 3 pickups), the tone pot doesn't make any difference in the up or down position. Hey man. I have been digging on your channel for years and never commented and I just wanted to let you know that I really love what you do. \m/,
Thank you!!
Great looking and sounding guitar. Love it. One thing you need to do is adjust the middle pickup.
The volume is much too low compared to the others.
With the middle pickup does the tone pot work??? On mine it does not. The tone pot works on all other combinations.
@@scotthavsy2029 he was asking why middle pickup volume is too low compared to others. You've not answered??
I like the way the tuners are staggered, so the strings go straight through the nut. No awkward angles.

There ain’t a fretboard shitty enough to thwart Max’s prowess to effortlessly glide.
Not a fan of the binding at all, everything else is spot on.
