Thanks for posting this. Sadly thinking of Mister Rogers & the Mad song, because of the latest mass shooting at a school at Uvalde, Texas. It may not be a lack of gun control & mental illness precisely to blame, but Mr Rogers seems like a prophet (3:57), in his testimony here. Concerned about the messages TV was giving children (all the way back in 1969). We do have to recognize that our culture - the US culture - has created and continues to create the ingredients of these tragedies. Anger management and conflict resolutions skills may be present for some but clearly not all. Coupled with the escalating violence in our media (from 1969 when Westerns were the scripted entertainment, and what does every Western need: guns). And even reporting on these types of events I fear gives notoriety. I wonder if our culture is unique in its glorification of notoriety coupled with shamelessness? The idea that: “If you can’t be famous (for doing something good), you can be remembered by doing something really terrible.” Our culture’s love affair with guns is something you probably have to see through the eyes of an outsider to fully appreciate. Seems like we’re sadly reaping what we’ve sown. Listen to the words of “What do you do with the mad that you feel?” and see if you agree.

Most of us people aged 50 and under also fell under his spell and we became better people because of it. Fred Rogers was a saint. Rest in peace.
