Hi beautiful knitters! Such video is my gratitude and a gift for the holiday season. I hope this video can expand your knitting experience and maybe add some inspiration to a knitting journey! Thank you very much for your warm comments, I am wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a New Year! hugs 🤗
Thank you for a great video! Another affordable mohair alternative is Midnatssol by Camarose. It’s alpaca fibres with tencel core if I remember correctly (the structure of the yarn is exaclry like standard silk mohair). I made a vest with it and the quality is great. It’s very soft and flufy
Fabulous podcast thanks. So many alternatives discussed. I can attest to the softness of the Kremke BabySilk lace solid. Love it to knit with. Love watching your podcasts 🥰🙏💚
Thank you for this podcast! I’m very sensitive to mohair, so I’m always looking for alternatives. You showed definitely some new to me yarn. Happy holidays !
Thank you for such a useful mohair alternatives review! As always, I’ve learned a lot of interesting things and got my eye on some new yarn choices. Always happy to see you!
I am so grateful for you and for this video! I have tried some of these yarns, I struggle with mohair so I am always looking for alternatives. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks a lot for this non-obvious selection, there are a few new yarns and brands for me, and I’m a bit of a yarn nerd 😅 I wish I had more hands to try all of them! I can add a few options to your list, that I feel are also not so well known: Lucia and Haya by Holst Garn (both with a little bit of yak), Brushed Merino by Lotus Yarns, Trilogy and Lulu by Inka Tops (available on cones via Etsy). I also think Inka Tops produces some of the alpaca yarns for Kremke, because they look the same and have the same composition. Cariaggi also has a few other brushed cashmere options like Nuage and Goldie.
Woow, thank you very much for mentioning new yarns to me! I am a yarn nerd too, it’s nice to meet you 😁 I’ve heard of lotus yarns, will check them out! Also other options you’ve mentioned 🤗
Thank you for this! I sadly came to accept that I can’t wear mohair. Even expensive mohair’s people say are soft are itchy to me. I just discovered Lana Grossa Setasuri. I just made a swatch and it is SO soft and gives that mohair look. I also tried Lang Zen. Not as soft but not itchy like mohair. Excited that Kremke baby alpaca lace is available in my area. Will give that a try too.
Thank you so much for this thorough research. I have saved this video as a resource for my next knitting projects. Merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎉
I enjoyed this episode so much! I may have to try some cashmere blend yarns. I don't find mohair or alpaca very comfortable, so I'm looking forward to trying some alternatives!
@nikitinaknits just ordered it, waiting for it to arrive 🙂 I asked because it's sort of the obvious mohair alternative and I was surprised you didn't include it
Hello!! Even though a lot of these yarns are expensive, they could be added to something for a Sophie scarf or shawl! That wouldn’t break the bank. lol. Would you recommend washing before use to get the greatest effect? Great video,! Thank you. 😊
You are right, we can always make a smaller item and still enjoy the fiber! Yarns that are sold for handknits don’t have the spinning oil, so I don’t think it’s necessary to wash before use, they are ready to start immediately 🤗 However, I always wash the swatch to understand the correct gauge and to know what to expect :)
@@Meirjolanknits the shop is called SleepAndWalk and I bought the organic cotton pajamas. Its nice shirt weight cotton and everything has held up very well. Purchased in June 2023.
Hello i live in a very warm climate so mohair os just too warm for is. Years ago, it was the worst scratchy yarn ever so noone liked to use it but now, it's become a trend. Is there any way that huge microphone can be put out of the frame? It's distracting and spoils the viewing experience so much..
@@ludouglas1 Hi! Yes it has become a trend but I personally really love mohair! Just some people can’t tolerate it to the skin, so it’s nice to have alternatives. The mic will be there for now, I have a huge echo in the room so it needs to be close to my face. Maybe later, when I live in different place)

Oh thank you so much for watching and leaving a warm comment 🤗 I would love to try this yarn, and maybe even knit an entire blouse in it 😍
Super informative video - directly bookmarked it since I'm fully in for a good mohair alternative 🥰

Such a great video idea! And I love the options you chose to highlight... I'm on a yarn buying ban right now but I'm definitely very tempted 🥲
I hope you can try some when your yarn ban is over 🤗 I also don’t buy anything now, my stash is heavy 😅
Very useful video, I got to know many new yarns! Merry Christmas 🤗

Hi, great video. the Danish brand Holst has some really good mohair alternatives. Lots of colors at a very good price point.
Yes I love their titicaca alpaca, so soft 😍 thank you very much!
Thank you so much for this video! I can't wear mohair on my skin and I've been missing a proper overview of what I can use! Thanks again! ❤❤❤

Everytime I am on Etsy I prefer to support the Ukranian shops! I bought the best needle case from an ukranian shop!
Oh this is so kind! Thank you very much 🙏🏼 I got a handmade bag from Ukrainian Etsy shop the other day, it’s amazing!
And I got a pair of cotton pajamas that I really like. The quality is excellent.

Rowan is very expensive in UK 🇬🇧.
Oh yes it's expensive everywhere! But the good thing is that it costs the same here in Spain as in the UK, but its harder to find on discount :(
And here in Canada too but I love it.
