I haven’t even started the video yet and I am PUMPED. Blown yarns are so satisfying to work with, i wish they were more popular!
Yay! We love them too!:)
Really interesting and useful video, thank you. I've made cardigans and sweaters with Drops Air and I'm so pleased with them, after watching your video there is no need to feel I am missing out on something better - thank you!
They sound like lovely garments! Thank you Claire for sharing!:)
Personally, I love Cloudpaca by Knit + Crochet and I can just pop into my local Joann and get what I need 😅 I’ve made 2 sweaters with it already!
We'll have to check that one out! Thank you for sharing!:)
I am working with this yarn now and I like it as well.
Yes, my choice, Drops Air, won! I found it to be very soft on my sensitive skin. I've made 4 sweaters, including lace and colour work and I have more in my stash for next year's Christmas sweater.
Yay! Those sound so beautiful!:)
This is a very useful comparison, thank you! I knit an ankle-length coat (21 cakes) for my mom with Drops Air and it was fantastically light, even with the viscose lining. I chose a discreet diamond-shaped pattern which worked well with the fuzzy yarn. Very durable and easy to work with. Can't wait to knit with it again.
Wow, that sounds like such a cozy and fun project! Thank you for sharing!:)
What a fantastic review! I've tried 3 of the blown yarns reviewed and have to say that each have their high points so for anyone considering blown yarn, watch each individual review. Wonderfluff is just so lovely and soft every time with beautiful colors. It pilled on my stockinette but much better with a textured pattern. DROPS Air was such a solid choice and my cardigan and sweater have held up amazingly well (as long as you baby it during blocking). Snefnug I've only swatched so far, but it has a bit of a denser feel to me, like it might offer a bit more structure and be more sturdy. It is so so lovely too. I am curious now to try the others but with three amazing options, it's hard to branch out. For anyone watching, Wonderfluff often goes on sale for 30% off, making it more affordable. I've even gotten it for half off. Thanks again!
Such great tips! Thank you Jessica for sharing!:) And so awesome! We love a yarn sale!
If you can find it, juniper moon stratus is wonderful. I got several bags on close out and have knit 4 sweaters so far- so comfy!
Great review as I ❤ blown yarns and cantata would be my favorite and I prefer cool colors, thanks 😊❣️🌸🌸🌸
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!:)
TY for this review. When comparing prices, are all these the same weight balls?
They are all 50g except Cantata, it is 100g grams.:)
I have used k+c Cloudpaca and Caron blossom cakes, I’m sorry to see they aren’t on the lineup today but excited to hear about the other ones!
We'll have to try those ones out! Thank you for the recommendations!:)
I made a Cloud sweater by Petite knit with Air + camarose Midnatssol and it is indeed a Cloud ❤️
Wow, that sounds like a dreamy combination! Thank you for sharing!:)
You didn’t include Originally Lovely fluff
We'll have to add that to our list to try!
❤
Thank you!
@ me thank you ☺️ your videos very helpful and interesting ❤️
I’m curious if you feel that these actually differ in weight or if the difference is primarily in labeling
That's a great question! I think Snefnug in particular feels much more dense. Overall weight wise, we found that Air feels and looks the lightest and has the most drape:)
I guess I'm more of a yarn snob....don't like any blown fibers 😊 Peace ✌️ ☮️ 🕊
That's okay! What yarns do you like to work with?:)
