The way you've portrayed nurses is both incorrect and insulting. You don't get a job as a nurse just because your father-in-law owns a hospital, unless you also happen to have a degree in nursing. A quick Google search would have told you that those who have failed to become doctors can't just become nurses instead, nursing requires specific skills that doctors don't have. Nurses are the backbone of any hospital, and they deserve respect.
A quick Google search discusses privately owned hospitals in Asian countries where these text channel stories originate. Fancy the thought of the world existing outside of North America and Western Europe! Also the would be MIL in the story was portrayed as not knowing what she was talking about.

And just because you went to medical school (and failed) does not mean you can become a nurse. Nurses, as well as doctors and most other professions in this world, have a curriculum to study and appropriate testing to qualify for a professiin.

Equipment costs in the billions . Most hospitals are run by Medical groups . For example Grant Hospital , Dublin Methodist , Riverside Hospital , Doctors Hospital West is owned by Ohio Health .
St Anne's , Mount Carmel East and West is run by Trinity Health .
