I started following a new company called GTS that makes body armor. He shows how his plates are made and makes educational material on how it’s constructed and the chemistry that goes into the ceramics. But, one thing he showed is that even on the high end products of ceramic plates they don’t bring the ceramic all the way to the edge but leave up to an inch away and filled in with foam. I just bought his level IV plates and side plates and I’m extremely happy with the purchase

But for $99 i was shook that they didn't fail. I bought 2 more as back up emergency plates or for an extra vest for others who could use protection but not expected to be in direct fire. I have a couple different sets of certified plates for the real deal, but for a first timer, or someone who just wants protection while getting away instead of fighting cheap plates are a worthy trade-off when on a budget and looking to acquire other gear/gun items
