He’s an awesome guy isn’t he? Down to earth and chill.
Years ago my band was fortunate enough to play a show with them. Mattie has a presence with him that is undeniable. The power he has to just draw you in when he speaks is incredible. About two years before fight the silence was released he was telling me about how human trafficking was overlooked in the US and we have been mislead into thinking it’s only in third world countries. He told me he wanted to make an entire album about it. Fast forward to now... the people have been exposed to the severity of everything he fought to expose. People like Mattie are the people the world needs to bring people together and bring out the passion to create a better world for everyone. 💪🏼

'"A Spark Is All We Need" is a key phrase (that's on one of their hoodies) that means that we need someone or some people to start a revolution for God.

I was thinking about this video and how it's imagery is not very obvious in it's Christian message. I first thought, maybe they should have held crosses for had signs that said something about God, but the more I thought about it, It may have looked even more "UnChristlike" if they did that because....
Having a riot with crosses and stuff may look too much like very unchristlike groups: KKK, Westboro Baptists, etc

Yes our government is broken, but that doesn't mean that any government is a bad thing. As long as we live in a world with fallen people we cannot depend on each person's moral code to prevent them from hurting others in some way. We also need to remember that Jesus is in fact The King. God instituted government for our benefit, but in a fallen world, government is also fallen. For Christians, we are not called to overthrow earthly governments, but to establish a spiritual one. As people's hearts change, so will government, we need to be thinking from the bottom up rather than top down. Change in government won't change how people act, but a movement of the Holy Spirit will.

I don't think this song is talking about overthrowing government, but rather the system of sin and destruction. Their songs "Break the Cycle" and "Devastator" have similar lyrics. This band is pretty much all about standing strong in God against sin.

Lyrically I don't have much of a problem with this song or much of the rest of what they do, but their non-musical message of conversion and "salvation" only though Christianity is moronic and infantile.
I was at Warped Tour Detroit two years ago, and Matt was going on a philosophical tirade that I was loving, until at the end he wrapped it up in a nice little bow and made it clear that he was only speaking to those that are willing to either convert to his club, or already are members. I was literally jumping up and down and getting hyped with everyone else in the crowd, but when he finished it off the way he did I put my arm right down and became super disappointed in him.
I am not a fan of the preaching too.
Comared to the previous albums this one is much better in this regard.

I think this song is about to become very relevant in the U.S. soon. The military either was about to or has labeled fundamental Christians as "extremists", and I don't think its gonna stop there. I'm not sure this country's Christians are ready for persecution that could very well come in our generation, and I mean actual persecution, not just limiting speech.

Revolution, yeah
I like for today but I find this video uncreative, unoriginal and generic. I've seen secular bands display a similar message. Is this worship? Is it revolutionary? or is it something we seen before? there is little meaning and christian themes going on in this video. Jesus may have been seen as an outcast but he never caused chaos for the sake of it. He came to bring peace. He flipped tables but only because people failed to worship in a place of God. People cause riots because they see a lack of justice, peace and love in the world. what is better? screaming on a police car while a bunch of kids wearing sunglasses run with fire in circles? does this solve anything? or should we have faith and have trust in people? I see a youth wanting to be in a music video with their cool favorite band and not a youth that strives for change and peace in the world. Does our suffering and rioting pay for peace? Or did a king already suffer on a cross two thousand years ago? Do riots glorify God? I know music can be impactful, but there comes a time when we must choose whether we use music to better the world or our own selfish desires. If we burn something to the ground, is it for the best reasons? or are we destroying something without thought or feeling? Did Jesus Christ destroy? "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
Been a fan since before Ekklesia came out, and before Mattie even joined the band. They had gotten progressively better... until they left Facedown and Immortal came out. Too many clean vocals (sorry Ryan). Makes me bummed, but it appeals to more people I guess.
Not really digging the whole "brodude" vibe they're giving off now a days. I was really into Ekklesia and Portraits, but this stuff is pretty cookie-cutter. :/
