Matchbox K-19 Scammell Tipper Truck Diecast Restoration (DMC Challenge November 2022)

My contribution to the monthly Diecast and Modelers Community Challenge on Facebook. This month's challenge is called 'More than Four' and the aim is to restore or refresh a diecast model with more than four wheels.

Quite the difference from what you started with. Tipper front looks a lot better, and odd the way the suspension part melted but the windshield showed no signs of heat damage. Glad you got the new suspension piece to work, final product looks great. Thanks for sharing

I guess the truck may have been left upside down in the garden on a hot summer day. In direct sunlight that metal bottom plate can become extremely hot, melting the suspension, but not hot enough to damage the windscreen.

For your info,there is a replacement screen done for this and other Matchbox Scammell trucks.It's made by Steve Flowers Model Supplies,& is listed under K2. the screen also fits the pipe truck as well as this tipper.Nice resto by the way.
